2 confirmed- one died and another in hospital for six weeks. Loads of suspected cases in March, including our family.

Spodge · 31/08/2020 17:14

2 - assumed. They fell ill at the start of it all and were not tested. Male in his 30s felt rough for a weekend and bounced back. Female in her 40s had three weeks of feeling utterly grim, with crazy high temperatures and stomach issues the main problem. Both fine now.

sallyshirt · 31/08/2020 17:37

One confirmed with a test, the other is partner and was ill at the same time but not tested.
Both in 20s, both fine.

PollyPelargonium52 · 31/08/2020 17:59

1 died of it (a husband of somebody I know) 3 think may have had it before it became known in the UK but otherwise nobody else.

Dryadia · 31/08/2020 18:23

3, 1 unfortunately died. All 3 early to mid 50's, the one that died was thought before hand to be the healthiest of all three, but was the eldest.

One of the other two, needed steroid medication and additional help with asthma to fully recover. Took them both over 8 weeks to recover. The breathing problems & coughing alone went on for well over 3 weeks.

LookToTreblesGoingTreblesGone · 31/08/2020 18:31

2 died. 1 ventilated for a week, but has been left with massive health problems with lungs and kidneys. And 3 who had it quite badly but have recovered.
East Midlands area.

NotMyFinestMoment · 31/08/2020 18:34

9 confirmed cases and 3 of them died.

Unsure33 · 31/08/2020 18:36

lost my aunt and uncle
My husband lost his aunt and uncle
My sons neighbour died
4 work associates had it

So 9

HasaDigaEebowai · 31/08/2020 18:38

8 - I am friends with lots of doctors though.

Starlitexpress · 31/08/2020 18:42

Several, including myself. Most got over it within a week or two, but one was hospitalized for three months and has several ongoing problems.

oo0Tinkerbell0oo · 31/08/2020 19:11

My partner, 15 colleagues on my ward, all recovered, some still not 100%, one was in ICU for 7 weeks.

Thehogfatherstolemycurry · 31/08/2020 19:26

1 hospitalised man in 60's recovered
2 friends that felt like shot for a few weeks but I'm
2 who didn't know they'd had it but tested positive for antibodies
1 older lady that died.

Then a few friends of friends and people from the village that I don't personally know.

ifonly4 · 31/08/2020 19:39

Two diagnosed plus one who had the symptoms and not tested (early stages). If the two diagnosed one list his life, the other felt awful for a couple of months. The one who wasn't diagnosed still has minimal taste and smell five months later.

@Spinakker

This thread is quite frightening..
Yes. And I noticed the OP has not reappeared.
Babamamananarama · 31/08/2020 20:03

1 died - a guy a couple of years younger than me at 38.
3 have long-term Covid and are still struggling.
1 was almost hospitalised but now I think recovered.
My sister's household all had it but mercifully all recovered well. In her house the 5 yr old got it first, at school, and passed to the rest of the family back in March.

rosie39forever · 31/08/2020 20:12

4
2 in their early 30s really Ill for 4 weeks
1 70 year old in hospital for 2 weeks Now has breathIng in problems
1 healthy 36 year old man hospitalised on a ventilator for 4 weeks now has kidney failure.
Covid 19 is no joke.

LadyH846 · 31/08/2020 21:17

2 of my friends' uncles died of it. 1 in their 60s and 1 in their 70s.

Tootsey11 · 31/08/2020 22:05

6 including myself. All contracted it in March. All recovered except me who is still struggling with every symptom except cough. I look and feel dreadful.

Toothsil · 31/08/2020 22:36
  1. Both very ill but ok now.
Gingerfish91 · 31/08/2020 22:59

Personally, just 1. Tested positive but fine.

BenoneBeauty · 31/08/2020 23:09

1

Selmaselma · 31/08/2020 23:18

4: 2 of them hospitalized, 2 of them pretty sick at home.

HerRoyalNotness · 31/08/2020 23:22

This is a shocking read. I’m sorry for all who have lost family and friends or are still suffering themselves. When they give us the case and death numbers it seems so abstract. Personally I’ve only known 1 person and they died. My friend on the other hand knows 12 people that have had it.

I wish all those idiot naysayers would open their eyes!

AdoreTheBeach · 31/08/2020 23:36

Two of my children (young adults) tested positive. Sick as though they had flu but also lost taste/smell. Third may have had it but we’re not paying for antibody test. As one of our children (Young adult) had it while living with us in lock down, we think we may have had it too (Mildly) but I had the antibody test come out negative so we decided not to pay for the rest of the family.

One friend. She’s having many long lasting issues.

One friends husband. He’s ok now

One acquaintance. She was on ventilator for 6 weeks. Is still very weak and can hardly do anything.

Nicedayforawedding · 01/09/2020 00:12

My friend and her son had it, they were extremely tired and had the temperature. 8 weeks on they are still very tired.

A friend in good health in his 50s died of Covid.

My friend’s neighbour also died of it - he was in his 50s.

Our neighbours had it, One was ill but recovered and the other sadly died.

So 6 people.

Horrendous illness
