cliffdiver · 31/08/2020 09:00

3 confirmed:

Neighbour, boyfriend of a colleague and me.

Alfiemoon1 · 31/08/2020 09:08

1 my mil not tested but had the symptoms as she’s in a care home and it was earlier on when testing was limited. She was only poorly for a few days and is fine now thankfully she’s 86

Alfiemoon1 · 31/08/2020 09:09

Sorry to everyone who has lost loved ones

WoodenFox · 31/08/2020 09:09

My SIL has a positive test. She was really ill.

BillywilliamV · 31/08/2020 09:12

4 in April, 1 doctor, 2 nurses and one of the nurse's partners. All fine now!

MissEliza · 31/08/2020 09:16

Two tested positive in hospital for other reasons in April. They had no COVID symptoms. I know six adults who had the typical symptoms including loss of taste and smell in March before lockdown.

EleanorOalike · 31/08/2020 09:18

Quite a lot. Twelve people just in my postcode have died from it.

Cookerhood · 31/08/2020 09:21

12 in your postcode? Our postcode is about 8 houses. Do you mean the first bit, like NG11?

labellesusage · 31/08/2020 09:22

I put my full postcode in the ons thing. It gives you your area postcode. So 12 on our estate

Scentsandsensible · 31/08/2020 09:23

Luckily none - a good friend of mine however had four immediate neighbours die from it.

I put my full postcode into the checker. It’s 12 over my street and the streets on either side. I knew about most of them and some were easy to guess from the yellow decorations in the window which signify that someone in the house died from Covid.

Just the first part of my postcode is much more. We are in a hotspot though.

AliasGrape · 31/08/2020 09:32

3 confirmed.

1 -my niece tested positive when in hospital for other reasons, had no COVID symptoms though
2 - next door neighbour who was in a care/rehabilitation home following a stroke. Tested positive but only mild symptoms for a few days, (since back home with care plan in place)
3 - my husband’s boss. Was hospitalised. Home now but ongoing symptoms.

4 pretty sure they had it back in March but no testing then - My sister and her husband and my brother and his wife. All felt really ill for 1-2 weeks with all the Covid symptoms but we can’t know for sure.

WookieWoo · 31/08/2020 09:38

Colleagues = too many to count (gave up at 20), but I work in a hospital. Some have been very ill but all have recovered thankfully.

My son had it. I don't have antibodies so I think he caught it from school pre lockdown.

SageRosemary · 31/08/2020 09:41

1, a relative, died
DH 1, work acquaintance, died

Tomatoesneedtoripen · 31/08/2020 09:43

...

nex18 · 31/08/2020 09:49

Can you put a link to that on please @EleanorOalike ? I’ve not seen anything that specific and am interested in my area and where I work.
I know of 5 people. 1 died of cancer after a positive test but definitely didn’t die of Covid.

TheGoldenApplesOfTheSun · 31/08/2020 09:52

One chap through work, who died. He was only in his fifties, it was an awful shock to everyone. Then the retired Rabbi of a neighbouring congregation, who also died. He was so lovely - we still can't quite believe he is gone and of course no one could attend the funeral in person. And a friend of a friend who was in intensive care for a long time but she is thankfully home now and slowly recovering.

Don't know of anyone for certain who had it less seriously. Something went around our neighborhood, including our family, near the beginning of lockdown but it was back when nobody could get tested unless you became very ill, so no idea if it was just a normal flu or what - don't think it could really have been covid as the symptoms didn't match.

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 31/08/2020 09:54
  1. 1 death, 1 long COVID, 4 pretty rough but now recovered.
MynephewR · 31/08/2020 09:55

2 close family members who probably had it (pre widespread testing) and an acquaintance who posted on Facebook that they had a positive test Confused

What are the yellow decorations in the window? Is that in the U.K.?
