Wear a face mask at school drop off?

Will you wear a face mask to drop off or pick up the kids on the school run? It’s going to be chaotic enough in the playground especially with rubbish weather.

Parker

The virus is under control now!!! Nhs is empty

Too much Covid and your school closes. Wear a mask - it’s the lesser of two evils. And yes I am in another country. It’s not mandated here but parents cannot and do not social distance at the gate, so that is what we’re saying. We also have masks for all kids in secondary - and within the term, so will you - everything else we’ve done you have shortly afterwards!

Vinoo - it’s only got under control due to lockdown and restrictions. Local restrictions will have to continue. Schools will close again if there are new cases. Covid isn’t just going to disappear (as much as Trump thinks it will!).

No. No need

blueskies20 · 31/08/2020 13:00

The virus isn't going to go away and will not be brought under control. all the hand washing and sanitising is creating super bugs, they are getting stronger, we need to work with our own immune system not keep obliterating it.

I'm sorry but the nhs is complicit in this, there are whistleblowers.

Millions of people awaiting cancer treatment and other treatment.

Every medical treatment has been stopped and covid is being used as an excuse.

Ah that’s a shame. They can and do at our school. Far preferable to being crammed in together with masks on.

singersarp · 31/08/2020 13:02

Yes I will. Why would I not? There's no way people will stand 2m apart in the nursery garden. And I would never want to be responsible for making someone else ill when I can do something simple to prevent it.

Wow. This thread is bonkers! Grin proper conspiracy theory nut job stuff.

I was just complaining to DH that I have no insight into the conspiracy theory side of things as all of my friends and family are boringly normal. Thanks mumsnet for the glimpse into the other side.

GalesThismorning read the Coronavirus Act with regards to children

Parker231 · 31/08/2020 16:43

@GalesThisMorning - what do you mean by conspiracy?

Old Jenny Harries, who is treated like a Saint by some on here isn't convinced either way about masks is she. And she said as much in front of Johnson.

We have been told that masks must be worn on school grounds (both indoors and outdoors) at drop off/pick up. We have also been advised to wear them outside of the school grounds (the street/entrances) if possible due to the fact there are only 3 ways in to the grounds and it will be busy as no staggered starts/finishes.

WhoWants2Know · 31/08/2020 19:14

I think I will. But I have asthma and allergies and will probably be coughing my arse off the whole time. So I think people would prefer me to cover up.

user1470659997 · 02/09/2020 19:41

I’m going to try and social distance as much as possible but in a busy playground it’ll be hard.
