New outbreak in New Zealand

Breaking news outbreak in a retirement village in Auckland. Residents developed respiratory type illness. Auckland have gone into level 3 while the outbreak is assessed. After over 100 days of being virus free and their strict measures, what has broken down to allow this?

Agree, @sashagabadon. And another comparator rarely used is South Korea - but then they really did have a world beating track and trace symptom

I think the proper track and trace system has been shown to be the most effective way to deal with this and I do not understand why this can’t be replicated elsewhere.

It's emerged that AirNZ crew doing same day turnarounds to Aussie (and HK) weren't being tested.

That seems a likely contender for the source of the outbreak.
