How many people have you had in your house since we can?

We haven't had anyone into our house yet but have had family in our garden. My neighbour on the other hand has a steady stream of people every day. Different people usually with little children in tow. I know it’s not against the rules, but to me if this usual behaviour for most I’m not sure why masks or school bubbles will make a difference?

A plumber and the hairdresser. Everyone else we’ve seen has been in the garden

itbemay1 · 15/07/2020 11:56

Three estate agents, no family or friends

justanotherneighinparadise · 15/07/2020 12:04

It’s interesting that it’s being reported that the large outbreaks of covid in Leicester and Blackburn is being fuelled by large extended families being in and out of each other’s houses. So even though we may feel like miserable bastards keeping the doors shut, at least we’re not contributing to new infections.

Grobagsforever · 15/07/2020 12:05

No one is coming in my house until 2030.

Also, I only drink on alternate Christmases

MargotB7 · 15/07/2020 12:07

Grobagsforever

You have a drink problem.

  1. But MIL is coming to stay for a few weeks soon which will be lovely. She has been on her own since March.

I'm looking forward to getting the cleaner back and we need some workmen to come in as well. Enjoy it while it lasts before the autumn!

onemouseplace · 15/07/2020 12:11

Someone to look at the boiler and our cleaner for the last 3 weeks.

That is it.

Timeforanotherusername · 15/07/2020 12:12
  1. And I've not been in anyones house
Angel2702 · 15/07/2020 12:12

Only had my Mum and Dad in garden then my Mum in the house.

Somethingsosimple · 15/07/2020 12:14

I’m not complaining about my neighbours at all as she isn’t breaking any rules. But I’m just really interested in how many people are entertaining a lot, as if so I can’t really see the point of masks and school bubbles. We are being told by school that they must stay in bubbles, change clothes when they return home etc ect, but the same children are playing with all sorts of other children in their homes so all a bit pointless.

3, all the same family (as each other, not us). Purely social. It was lovely and felt like life was normal.

Bin85 · 15/07/2020 12:14

None at all

LadyCatStark · 15/07/2020 12:18

My sister and nieces
DH’s dad
Our best friends (family of 4)
DS’s friends from our street
2 heating engineers

We’ve been in my sister’s house and our best friends’ house.

DamitJanet · 15/07/2020 12:19

None yet, but MIL is visiting on Friday.
The only other house I’ve been in is my mums.

OpheliasCrayon · 15/07/2020 12:21

More than I could count.
I've had loads of playdates with kids friends
They've been at school. I don't see why they can see the same children at school and then not in our house.
I've had a couple of my friends too but mostly just school friends.
I really can't see the difference at all. My daughter's have already been all over them all at school!

okiedokieme · 15/07/2020 12:27

None, met friends at the pub though

Silverspring · 15/07/2020 12:31

None.

And there isn’t any point in bubbles, they are simply a tracing device and to make you feel safer wrgt schools reopening.

With 3 children, each one currently could be in 5 different bubbles (school, 3 sports, one youth group each) so I could be exposed to 15 different bubbles without any issue at all, nevermind that in the bubbles, there are teachers and teachers children at different schools, sports coaches shouting instructions let alone my own work bubble.

Forget bubbles. They are a total nonsense.

NothingIsWrong · 15/07/2020 12:32

My Mum has been to stay, cleaner has been coming since the end of May, kids have had friends round but only ones from their year group, so will be in their bubbles when they go back. Friend popped in for a cup of tea, husband has had a friend round for beers.

Not Piccadilly Circus and not up to our usual levels of entertaining, but we have had a few people round. Only one household at at time though (which I think is the rules?)

yomellamoHelly · 15/07/2020 12:34

We had one set of friends (family of 4) over. With doors to garden open, so lots of ventilation. They're the same as us - adults not seen anyone, dc in part-time school.
Felt like a risk worth taking and it was fab seeing people in real life.

IHTC · 15/07/2020 12:44

9 people

piscis · 15/07/2020 12:54

We have had people twice at home.
A couple of friends with their kids (a different couple each time)
We met one of these couples again but outdoors (pub with huge beer garden) and park, and I met a friend last week (park as well)
That’s all my social life since March.

Puffthemagicdragongoestobed · 15/07/2020 13:08

Two kids. Their respective mums were either only in the hallway to pick up, or we were sitting out in the garden. I still apprehensive about it, which I think is a good thing. Thankfully it's the summer so we can just socialise outdoors.

NotEverythingIsBlackandWhite · 15/07/2020 13:48

None yet.

Sunnyhopefulness · 15/07/2020 13:51

One visitor who was only inside to use the loo and load her plate with food - we all sat outside
