How many people have you had in your house since we can?

We haven't had anyone into our house yet but have had family in our garden. My neighbour on the other hand has a steady stream of people every day. Different people usually with little children in tow. I know it’s not against the rules, but to me if this usual behaviour for most I’m not sure why masks or school bubbles will make a difference?

None. But I have been round to my parents!

justanotherneighinparadise · 15/07/2020 11:10

No one. We have been on holiday though which made me feel more normal.

BiddyPop · 15/07/2020 11:12

A friend of DH called for a beer and the weather was not good enough to sit outside.

The cleaners were in (team of 2) almost 2 weeks ago (and again tomorrow) but they have a rule about us being closed into 1 room while they clean the remainder of the house (and not that room) so we only had contact at the doorstep on arrival and departure.

And the hairdresser was also here 2 weeks ago for an hour, full PPE used and no longer brings his own chair or vacuum cleaner to reduce potential spread.

No one else.

We did go visit family last weekend (2.5 hours drive away but only 20 minutes apart down there). And DD went to visit a friend in her house after both were in hockey training yesterday for a couple of hours (spent most of it outdoors according to the stories!).

But DH and I are still WFH FT, and very full on, so we haven't had time to relax with others anyway. We will probably have DD's friend to visit next week for an afternoon. And cleaners tomorrow. But that's about all at the moment.

goodwinter · 15/07/2020 11:16

4 - my partner's parents and grandad, and a close friend who is staying with us for a week for work reasons.

CarrieBlue · 15/07/2020 11:16

My mum who is our single person bubble.

TinyMetalBirds · 15/07/2020 11:17

My mum, dad, sister and niece, all at once. They are one household.
Another family of four.

I have been in three gardens, and a friend's house once to use the loo.

IdblowJonSnow · 15/07/2020 11:17

Ragwort · 15/07/2020 11:19

A few - BT engineer, cousin & his wife, two friends for dinner last weekend, DH invited another friend for a meal .... and I've visited my parent's house from the beginning.

verybritishproblems · 15/07/2020 11:19

None. I’ve met friends for socially distanced picnics in parks etc but not had anyone around or been around others.

FrugiFan · 15/07/2020 11:20

One workman and my mum and dad. However I have been in other people's houses - 3 sets of grandparents and my aunt and uncles house. Finally getting thr chance to introduce them to the baby :)

bengalcat · 15/07/2020 11:21

TwoBlueFish · 15/07/2020 11:25

2 people (1 a tradesperson, 1 a friend) stayed socially distant from both of them.

lazylinguist · 15/07/2020 11:25

One family of four so far just for the afternoon and evening, but I have a further 3 sets of staying guests scheduled over the summer, plus someone coming to do a quote for a new kitchen, and no doubt the dc will have a friend over occasionally.

Your neighbours are following the rules, OP. What's the problem? The government didn't say 'We're going to have bubbles, masks etc, but everyone had probably better ignore our relaxed rules about meeting people, otherwise why bother with bubbles and masks?', did they?

People need to stop judging others based on imaginary interpretations or assessments of the rules that they've made up in their own heads.

NC4Now · 15/07/2020 11:26

None. A couple of days before we were officially allowed (after the announcement) was DS 18th, so we had 5 visitors over the day, individually or in households. That wasn’t ideal, but we’ve been otherwise strict.

Hoppinggreen · 15/07/2020 11:27

My mum and sdad, 3 friends (all 1 family), DDs boyfriend, DDs friend.
I have a friend and her son coming this aft and DS has a couple of classmates coming on Sunday

islockdownoveryet · 15/07/2020 11:29

I'm not sure what the point of your post is , if you don't want to have anyone round that's fine but others do and that's also fine .
Are you annoyed that people have people round and your not ?

Hyperion100 · 15/07/2020 11:30

None at all but both my neighbours have been having parties and bbq's all the way through lockdown.

Daisychains20 · 15/07/2020 11:36

None at our house.
Have been to garden of sibling twice and parents home once for 20 minutes they have no garden so was inside.

nettytree · 15/07/2020 11:38

My mum and dad for a few days, as they live about 100 miles away. And my daughter had a friend around. None of us has any medical problems so don't see the need to keep apart.
