Not sure how I feel about having this download on my phone without my permission. How about you?

I have just checked....and it's on my phone.... thanks for the heads-up. It's getting deleted right away!

jesst81 · 21/06/2020 17:36

It was in the iOS update. Wasn’t secretly put there. It only works with an app you install.

WhatCFeryIsThis · 21/06/2020 17:36

@deandra let me know how that goes, as there is nothing to delete!

@deandra oh dear and still after 18 pages of explanations people still think it is and APP that they can delete. Have you even read the information that it explains what it is that you want to delete. It is a bloody API your phone is full of them. They help it to be smart.

Babyshine2020 · 21/06/2020 17:39

It's there, but automatically turned off.

deandra · 21/06/2020 17:40

Mmmm. It was a secret to me, because I didn't know anything about it...and I haven't installed anything remotely like it.

deandra · 21/06/2020 17:41

Seriously??? Ok...I'm going to try.

deandra · 21/06/2020 17:42

Keep your hair on....no need to get stressed....no I haven't read anything other than the op...

Barney60 · 21/06/2020 17:42

just checked my phone and yes its there, I did not down load it and I keep getting messages that storage is full. Not sure if I can remove said APP, I do not want it on my phone. I did read something about this earlier in the week they were adding it to most phones.

myrtleWilson · 21/06/2020 17:42

gets popcorn

rainbowunicorn · 21/06/2020 17:43

@deandra it came in a software update that you would have agred to either when you set up for automatic updates or when you did it manually. What exavctly do you think it is? Try reading the information that it gives you to help you understand.

deandra · 21/06/2020 17:43

I don't want it on mine either.

rainbowunicorn · 21/06/2020 17:44

OH MY GOD it is not a fucking APP

Nonnymum · 21/06/2020 17:44

Its on all phones. If you have an android phone it's under settings/ Google.. It's not active though.
It's just on there for when an app is available

deandra · 21/06/2020 17:46

Oh my god....I don't care what you have to say. Stop reading my responses if it's stressing you out so much. Jeez

deandra · 21/06/2020 17:47

Thank you nonymum.....

OchonAgusOchonO · 21/06/2020 17:49

@deandra - I don't want it on mine either.

There's a very simple way to get rid of it. And the same technique will prevent all the apps on your phone that are tracking you and sharing your data with various organisations from doing so.

Go to your local shopping centre. Buy a hammer and use it to smash your phone. You can then either acquire a Nokia brick or stick to using the land line in the hall.

PearlHeart · 21/06/2020 17:49

Yeah it's on my phone also (iPhone) I didn't know they were even adding it either without my permission!

Xx

myrtleWilson · 21/06/2020 17:51

how does your phone update then @PearlHeart - have you set it for autoupdate because thats when you gave permission. Of if you opted to update when prompted, thats when you gave permission.

deandra · 21/06/2020 17:51

😂😂

OchonAgusOchonO · 21/06/2020 17:53

@PearlHeart - I didn't know they were even adding it either without my permission!

They didn't add it without your permission. You gave permission. Not their fault you didn't read the detail of what was included in the update.

GoldenOmber · 21/06/2020 17:54

It isn't an app
It can't track you
It can't tell anyone where you are
It isn't doing anything and it won't do anything until there is an app to download here which there is not
Even when there is an app to download, you can just choose not to download it
You can't delete it because it's not an app
It wasn't sneaked on to your phone without your permission
It really isn't an app.

Yes, you did download it.
Mere1 · 21/06/2020 17:56

I don’t see what the fuss is over this. It can’t work without Bluetooth but it’s off, anyway. And a useful tool just like many of the others we have when it updates.
