For those with children back at school, what are schools doing about uniform? Are they still wearing ties?
Thanks

Ours are asked to come in wearing PE kit, primary.

Orangeblossom78 · 16/06/2020 16:42

Wearing usual uniform, asked to wash daily, said not to bother if something grown out of and just use a different item for that part.

Orangeblossom78 · 16/06/2020 16:42

No ties

ComDummings · 16/06/2020 16:44

Our school have said they would like the children in clean clothes every day so uniform is not required until further notice.

NickMarlow · 16/06/2020 16:44

Keyworker kids only at the moment (our council have only just agreed to wider opening from next week.) Was no uniform until June, now back to uniform but can be pe kit if uniform is in the wash etc.

Primary so polo shirts anyway.

Crazycatlady83 · 16/06/2020 16:49

No uniform for ours, just own clothes, which is good cos he has grown out of most of the old uniform and I didn’t want to have to buy new for only 7 weeks of term!

Hoppinggreen · 16/06/2020 16:51

Y6 here, were told to come in full uniform and bring only trainers for PE
However, as DS has shot up he is in trackies and trainers with his school polo shirts.

InDubiousBattle · 16/06/2020 16:54

Ours are back in uniform. It needs to be clean on every day so they've said they don't mind if it's PE kit, a bit small or a bit stained (but must be laundered). They have said that they can wear trainers or school shoes, whichever is most comfortable as they're playing out a lot.

GameSetMatch · 16/06/2020 16:54

My sons primary said to wear uniform if you can but don’t buy anything new just substitute with something else.

HUCKMUCK · 16/06/2020 16:56

DS Y10 is only going to school for a week and they don't have to wear uniform - they have been asked to wear clean clothes each day.

Luzina · 16/06/2020 17:00

Yr10, going in 1 day a week. Usual uniform. The blazer and tie are machine washable though.

Some schools locally are sayno uniform others are saying school trousers and shirts but no tie or blazer.

SunshineCake · 16/06/2020 17:17

Year 10 - doing one day a week for mine, don't need to wear any uniform.

Year 12 - dress code applies.

HeyMicky · 16/06/2020 17:39

Uniform, but trainers instead of school shoes as they are not getting changed for PE (primary)

Chrisinthemorning · 16/06/2020 17:43

I think they should be having clothes on clean every day- can anyone link me to the guidance that suggests this please?

My Y6 is back. School said don't have to wear uniform because must have clean clothes on every day. No-one is wearing uniform, all in trainers, jeans and hoodies. I'm hoping this might convince the school that uniform is not necessary.

usernotfound0000 · 16/06/2020 18:47

Ours have uniform as optional.

MrsLJ2014 · 16/06/2020 18:58

No uniform at school I work in or school my child attends. Must be clean clothes everyday hence why no uniform as some people wouldn't have enough to clean and dry everyday.

Makemake · 16/06/2020 19:17

My DS in YR has to wear clean uniform everyday, including tie. Also had to take in PE kit too.

TheFallenMadonna · 16/06/2020 19:19

No uniform for our year 10s.

wendz86 · 16/06/2020 19:19

Ours aren’t eating uniform so they know they are wearing clean clothes each day .

wendz86 · 16/06/2020 19:19

Wearing not eating ..

TheGriffle · 16/06/2020 19:24

Primary here and they are wearing uniform. We haven’t been asked for them to wear clean clothes every day either.

Muchtoomuchtodo · 16/06/2020 19:27

Still waiting to hear - they’re due back in some form next week.

Why would it just be ties that aren’t required?

poshme · 16/06/2020 19:30

Ours have asked for PE kit (more relaxed rules so dark/plain bottoms, plain T-shirt) trainers.
School jumper or cardi (primary)

Must be clean every day.

They do a lot of stuff outside/PE stuff

RedCatBlueCat · 16/06/2020 19:31

Our primary: no uniform required, but must have clean laundered clothes each day.
Secondary Y10: normal uniform, minus ties and blazers. Only doing one day a week, so I'm assuming they expect the stuff to have been washed!
