Have you been tested for COVID?

And was it positive or negative?

I was tested last Thursday am as was being admitted to a ward in hospital - I was told that the results are taking about 2-3 days but that you'll only hear from them if it's positive. I had no symptoms, was being admitted for something totally unrelated.

Just wondering how many MNers have had it?

I was tested at my preop for csection - negative. I was phoned with the results within 24 hours.

Ilikefresias · 08/06/2020 18:29

I’ve not, no symptoms so no need!!

GimmeAy · 08/06/2020 18:35

@olivesandpecans Did you snort like a little piglet like moi when they shoved it up your nose? It's not very nice is it!!

I was tested when i got to hospital in labout. Negative x

JellyTots2009 · 08/06/2020 18:37

I've been tested as I work in healthcare and my employer asked us all to. It came back negative.

SockQueen · 08/06/2020 18:39

Three swabs, once when I was symptomatic, and twice as part of staff screening at the hospital where I work. Unpleasant. Also had blood done for antibodies. All negative

Minniee · 08/06/2020 18:42

I was and was negative.

gamerchick · 08/06/2020 18:45

Yes, very unpleasant. Negative.

RedorBlack · 08/06/2020 18:47

Yes, drive through test Saturday afternoon, results by text this morning. Negative

Not the most fun experience but always better safe than sorry in my opinion

alwaysthinkingofsleep · 08/06/2020 18:49

Yes. Absolute farce. 8 days for results. I believe I was tested at the time that a batch of results went to America & weren't actually tested. So I was given negative result but I don't trust it al all.

Gingerkittykat · 08/06/2020 18:50

Yes, when I had symptoms a couple of weeks ago. It was negative.

BooSurprise · 08/06/2020 18:51

I have, I was symptomatic at about day 5/7, depending on when they decided my symptoms started. It was negative, I’ll have an antibody test soon at work (NHS) and probably ongoing swabbing so will be interested to see what they say.

usernotfound0000 · 08/06/2020 18:51

I took a test at a drive through test center, test done at 2pm on a Monday, results by 10am on Wednesday morning. Negative result.

GimmeAy · 08/06/2020 18:59

I wonder why I was told that I won't get the results unless positive since you all got your results even if negative. Maybe they've changed things.

I took a test at a drive through centre on Friday at 2pm. Result texted Saturday 10.30am (negative).

Due to a confused conversation with my husband re childcare, I also ordered a home test at 10.30 on Friday morning. It arrived at 7.15 Saturday night, too late to order collection for the following day. Therefore it went today. I'll be interested to see how long results take.

The Zoe app asked me to get tested, I don't actually have typical covid symptoms.

GimmeAy · 08/06/2020 19:12

So nobody has actually tested positive.

DivisionBelles · 08/06/2020 19:14

Yes. Had an op last week and had the swab the day before. Was told they'd call if it was positive and I heard nothing, had the op so assume it was negative.

GimmeAy · 08/06/2020 19:15

I don't think I'd trust a home test kit, given how far they insert the swab both down the throat and up the nose - I don't think it's something your body would allow you to do to yourself.

I had a test in hospital on Thursday morning. The result came back that evening as inconclusive so I was tested again, and got a negative result on Friday morning.

bakewelltarty · 08/06/2020 20:00

I had the antibody blood test on Friday at work. Text today to confirm it was negative

BlackCatJourney · 08/06/2020 20:07

Over 100 of us were tested at work as part of a trial to see if any asymptomatic people tested positive. We were tested over the course of a week and I got my results back in 12 hours.
All tests came back negative. I didn't mind the throat bit but the nose one was horrible

cptartapp · 08/06/2020 20:29

Routine antibody test at work last Friday. Practice nurse.
Positive result!

yarncakes · 08/06/2020 21:53

Yes I was tested as I work in a care home and we all had mass testing done. I tested negative.

covetingthepreciousthings · 08/06/2020 22:15

DH did a postal kit, sent off last Wednesday, no results yet and they say upto 5 days for results.

He was self isolated in one room last week to stop me and DC getting it, but back in the household now after 7-8 days.

I think his symptoms were hayfever tbh, but bit frustrating that there's been no results.

Wolfff · 08/06/2020 22:23

I have done 2 tests, which DH and DD also did as part of the Flu Survey random testing. DH also took himself off to a local testing centre after developing a cough.

All negative.
