When do we think things will get back to normal in schools

Hi
When do we think after school clubs/nurseries/holiday clubs will get back to normal.... wondering if I'll need to hire help from 3pm on a couple of days when I do a job I can't do from home (retail)

I thought the goal was always not to overwhelm the NHS? We have a falling death rate and the hospitals are not full. Many have hardly any COVID admissions.

Yet talking about part time schooling until a vaccine?

I don’t get it. Has the policy changed? The goal was never to stop everyone getting this virus.

I’m praying for September!

How this fuck is this current situation supposed to be even remotely tenable? How?

They have to scrap social distancing measures and get all kids back in, full time, in September.

It is an absolute disgrace to our kids and to us parents attempting to work and home school. And guess who will take the slack, women, as fucking always.

And yes, I completely supported lockdown and closures when we knew nothing about Covid...but now we do and we know there is a 1 in a million and then some chance of kids dying from it, and we know asymptotic people very rarely spread it, and we know the 2m rule is basically bullshit.

I am more than willing to take the (negligible) risk; the current situation has ruined my marriage, its ruining my kids mental health and obviously their education, my mental health is absolutely shot, my business is near collapse.

I implore you to write to your MP and sign the government petition to get the back to school!!!

This.

As time has gone on and it appears the virus maybe becoming less virulent. Plus the huge spike from VE Day parties, beaches, etc does not seem to be materialising. I am very hopeful we will be back to some kind of normal by September.

I initially thought schools would remain key worker only until Easter, then Half Term. The social distancing in schools needs to be scrapped and the children all need to be back in September. Otherwise we are failing a generation.

My exam year children are having their mental health destroyed by not knowing what is going on. My primary age chid has had no support from school what so ever. I work in a school and I desperately want it to be back to normal for September.

"The goal was never to stop everyone getting this virus."

Zero transmission is, I believe, exactly how most people interpret "stop the spread".

allmycats · 10/06/2020 12:01

September

I don't think we'll be fully normal until there's a vaccine but certainly hope we're getting there by September.
