I’m 4.5 weeks in. I had a great day yesterday and thought that was it. Today I am hot and aching, my stomach is upset. I popped to the shop and my chest was tight (first time) and I was sweating again. I need to remind myself to breathe properly as well.
I had a negative home swab but I am so convinced I’ve had it as I’ve never been like this before.

AndsLee · 17/06/2020 15:38

Thank you @onlinelinda

Hope everyone's doing ok. It does sound like overall everyone is improving...slowly.

I had 13 days of feeling ok, ths Sat through to yesterday was a little bit rubbish. SOB plus some dizziness and that bloody persistant rash - which I actually think is contact dermatitis due to handwashing. But I reckon Covid will have had a hand in it too...

I had my 2nd appt with a CPN yesterday, who diagnosed that my anxiety was due to very real symptoms and said she is going to refer me urgently to the psychiatrist - a medical doctor who can make referrals.

I called my GP to tell him what was happening, who is now going to contact Infectious Diseases! I'm delighted to be heard, but a month ago would have been nice.

My final worry...my partner returns tomorrow. It will be ok, won't it?

Hope you're all having a good Wednesday. Xx

Nerve damage? Makes sense. That's what all the tingling, itching and temp changes will be. As I was saying before, I think our bods need to relearn not to react.

@baroqueandblue sorry you are still suffering.

I was wondering about @thedrswife46 as well. I don’t think she has been around for ages. I hope this means she’s recovering.

fedupofbed · 17/06/2020 17:03

Sort you've had a bit of a dip @AndsLee but at least now your doctor is finally on board.

All the science that we know says that we can't possibly be contagious after all this time. I'm sure it will be okay... And how wonderful to be reunited after all this time! Bet you can't wait.

Didn't get much garden plodding done as rather predictably my heart rate was too high. I did manage to sit in the garden for a bit before the rain started though which was lovely, and also did some tai-chi style flow exercises. My SOB has subsided a bit too.

fedupofbed · 17/06/2020 17:07

@pinkoneblueone and @mumlurker hope you're both doing okay these days?

Lightsabre · 17/06/2020 17:31

Thank you for the info re; central nervous system @Crayfishforyou - it makes sense.

@isitorisntit, sorry to hear about your ds- my first symptom was a stabbing in the soft area below the ear. It still comes on every now and again but not often.

AndsLee · 17/06/2020 17:47

@fedupofbed - you are such a sweetie. Always so kind.

I am sure the breathing through cobwebs thing is related to GERD. I wasn't convinced for a mo last week, but I am leaning back towards this. I wonder if the lung pain is aspiration from the reflux...?

OP posts:
fedupofbed · 17/06/2020 17:55

I'm wondering that too @AndsLee ... it doesn't remotely feel like GERD but I did stop the omeprazole for a couple of days. Might be coincidence but I'm back on it again today and will see how it goes.

mumlurker · 17/06/2020 17:59

Hi All! Haven't posted in a while but I still dip into the thread occasionally to see how everyone's doing.

I'm at about 14 weeks now. I'm sort of at the stage where if I just take it easy in the house, I feel ok, no major symptoms. My main issues at the moment are flare-ups of chest inflammation, dizziness sometimes when I stand up, and pins and needles in my hands. If I rest a lot, I have the occasional day when symptoms are almost gone. It's not totally linear though - I felt better last week than I did the past few days, but I don't feel awful and today has been better.

Exercise is another matter. I'm walking around the house, and have the concessional day where I walk 1000-2000 steps. If I go over that, it really wears me out. So I'm along way off where I was before, but I have high hopes that in another few months, I'll be getting there. Mentally, I feel much much more like myself. I'm working part time, eating well, and resting a lot. Genuinely think we'll all make it back to our former selves, but it will take time.

AndsLee · 17/06/2020 18:05

@mumlurker
That's how I feel. We'll get there. I do have the odd dark thought, only natural I guess. But I think we will...

@fedupofbed
I halfed my dose of ranitidine too. I'm not going to stop it completely. I felt better for it this morning, but this afternoon I am beginning to pay for it. Took a gaviscon. I'll see how I feel tomorrow morning after taking my only dose this evening.

For those with the sunburn rash...Pranaturals Aloe Vera Gel. It's amazing...

OP posts:
mumlurker · 17/06/2020 18:23

occasional not concessional!

@AndsLee Yeah, I sometimes let the dark thoughts get the better of me, but it's far far easier to keep them at bay these days. I had a blood test recently which showed I'd been fighting an infection but otherwise normal. GP has been waaaay more sympathetic recently, but the answer is still rest rest rest.

AndsLee · 17/06/2020 18:48

@mumlurker
I find that with my GP too. I had bloods taken beginning of May that showed nothing... All normal bar a bit dehydrated.

Like you say, it's just time and patience. I'm not very good at being patient though.

fedupofbed · 17/06/2020 18:52

@mumlurker good to hear there is progress, if frustratingly slow. Yes I think it's a real mental struggle as well as a physical one.

Whatapickle78 · 17/06/2020 19:10

Thanks @mumlurker it’s good to hear your progress. I am coming up to week 14 too and appreciate hearing others baby steps hopefully back to normality. I’ve also had to shift my mindset from weeks to months in terms of recovery... feels depressing but it’s probably realistic.

My swollen, sore joints and muscles have disappeared the last few days and now it’s sore chest, dizziness, headaches and horrible weakness. Seems no pattern to any of this to me Confused

Watchingtv44 · 17/06/2020 20:15

Sorry if you have said this- I read 8 pages and couldn’t see..
Has everyone had continuous symptoms?
We had suspected covid 4 weeks ago lasted only under a week then were fine. But this week we all have similar symptoms back. My dd has what I can only describe as vertigo and me stomach pains tired and headaches sore throat etc.

But we had a 4 week gap where we were ok.
Is this the pattern or have you continually had it long term instead of a wave?

Whatapickle78 · 17/06/2020 20:39

I had a gap of about 6weeks where I thought I was recovered, just with some achey muscles and tiredness. I started walking and running again during that time and felt fine, then yes, about 3 weeks ago it came back. All the symptoms I had before except the cough and pneumonia.

Sorry to hear you’ve all had it and it’s crept back again.

I think many on here, having not read every single post, have had it continuously. But some have had recoveries am right? It would be interesting to know how long the ‘well gaps’ were for others if they had them.

Whatnext2018 · 17/06/2020 20:40

Does everyone still have the mental fog type of thing? I almost feel I could blank out at times, I don’t feel myself or really with it?

Egghead68 · 17/06/2020 20:42

I’ve had dips and short periods where I have felt well and started exercising (big mistake).

Egghead68 · 17/06/2020 20:43

@Whatnext2018 yes to the mental fog

Whatnext2018 · 17/06/2020 20:46

@Egghead68 How does it feel to you? I have the forgetting the names of things/dizziness etc..but this is almost like a blankness, like I’m not properly there or myself for a bit 🤷‍♀️

Whatnext2018 · 17/06/2020 20:48

Also does anyone else feel the ‘Symptoms’ now are worse in a different way to at the start? I don’t remember having any of the mental fog/numbness/nightmares etc, just sore throat, low grade fever and diareah

Egghead68 · 17/06/2020 20:57

@whatnext2018 no it’s more that I can’t work things out or retrieve words, names or memories.

I got a lot worse sometime after day 39 in terms of heart symptoms but my symptoms have been a bit different at different stages e.g. I had terrible acid reflux which has gone now, had a phase of smelling burning (nearly threw out my microwave and my fan! Grin) a phase of finger blisters etc. All very odd. The chest pain and burning has been there the whole way through though.

Whatapickle78 · 17/06/2020 21:01

@Whatnext2018
Yes I have the mental fog and blankness you describe. This actually only came on in the last 5 days. It is horrible yes I agree. It makes me almost panic. Is it maybe just complete exhaustion? I can hardly walk around the house right now.

Whatnext2018 · 17/06/2020 21:11

@Whatapickle78 It’s just awful isn’t it? I’m not sure if is exhaustion, as I’m kind of ok in that respect at the moment, but I do feel like this quite a lot and it is scary. I try to focus and everything just feels a bit weird?
How far along are you?

I’ve no idea how far I am as the really quite unusual symptoms started 5 weeks ago..numb face and body, aches and pains, dizziness, blankness, fast heart rate etc..2 weeks before this I was having aching legs and before this on and off for weeks I had low grade fever, diareah, tiredness that would come and go. So I’ve no idea if I’m around 12-14 weeks, 7 weeks or only 5 if that makes sense! Did anyone else follow a similar pattern?

Whatnext2018 · 17/06/2020 21:13

I have to say I find this group more reassuring. When I go on the Fb group, I recognise a lot of the scary symptoms but it also brings on anxiety reading some of the posts.
