@Crayfishforyou do you know what your resting heart rate was before?

Also, could someone post me a link to the facebook support group for long timers please? Some random on the Scottish Government FB page has just replied to my comment about us needing medical care with the suggestion of setting up a "facebook page to offer support". What initiative eh? Why didn't we think of looking for support online eh? winks

Hugs to those who feel they need one.
I’ve done a bit extra walking on weds and thurs (it’s just so exciting to be able to pop out here) that + impending period = too much. I’ve been looking at physios for ME and I need to try to make a plan coz my family are all fitness freaks and now that I’m here and “much better” apparently I’m starting gentle exercise next week, and slowly increasing 10% each day....I don’t think so.
I have the opportunity to take it slow - I lost my job and I’m getting by ok. I don’t have kids (dear god how do you manage) so unlike when I first got CFS, I’m not going to push through, I’m going to go really slow. Even if it takes a year.

Lightsabre · 13/06/2020 10:05

That's a good plan @LetsBeSensible. You are very lucky to have the luxury of time - I know deep down that that is what it will take but it's so difficult when you Ave to return to work. I'm ok for the time being but I expect the screws to start turning fairly soon work wise.

Ernieshere · 13/06/2020 10:05

@fedupofbed I havn't tried the Amitryptiline yet, he gave me 25mg, my plan is to finish the Antibiotics, try the Stemetil to lessen the Tinnitus, and then in a week or 2, start the Amitriptiline.

Im a lone parent, with no family near at all, I do get worried about taking medication.
Obviiusly I still have to shop, cook, & clean as we all do & entertain DC.
I sent DC back to school last week, so I am now getting 8-4 at home alone, which may be what I need.

DC doesnt have to go in every day which is ideal, so if I cant manage the school run, I can call in and leave a message.

I did have a cry last night, Im so fed up of it now , I want to be normal again.

People looking at Physii, ring your local hospital and ask for the Therapy Dept.

I am being treated by a Post Covid Therapy team. Mainly a Respiritory Physio at the mo.

Flowers for everyone.

Toptottie24 · 13/06/2020 10:09

After thinking I was on the mend from this awful Covid virus, which is now week 12!!!
I’ve woken up with extreme fatigue, breathlessness and weakness in my legs.
I know I’m not alone in this and that many people have had it as long as me but I’m kinda wishing it would just sod off!!
It’s strange that you can feel better then BANG it comes back!!
Totally fed up with it ☹️

Ernieshere · 13/06/2020 10:19

Toptottie24

I have been on Gaviscon and Omeprazole for GERD. G.P & Physio say the acid from.any food goes back in the lungs and causes Asthma symptoms - breathless ect.

Might be worth trying?
Hooe you feel better soon,

If you did a fair bit 2 days ago it could be fatigue from then?

TiddleTaddleTat · 13/06/2020 10:40

Thanks to a PP who posted a link to physiosforme.com, there's a great video on there that I recommend everyone watch.

My period is back and it's painful, paracetamol isn't touching it and can't take ibuprofen because it's contraindicated with the beta blocker I'm taking.

However I've just looked through some notes I keep on my phone about relapse days, and when last period came on 21/5 I was having headaches, earaches, and severe muscle aches. I'm pleased to say I haven't had so much of that this time, mainly fatigue that I am treating with heart rate monitoring and plenty of rest. Hopeful that I will continue to feel a little better next month now I have accepted rest and time are probably the only ways to heal.

alittleprivacy · 13/06/2020 10:43

@TiddleTaddleTat My period is back and it's painful, paracetamol isn't touching it and can't take ibuprofen because it's contraindicated with the beta blocker I'm taking.

Have you tried taking evening primrose oil? I started taking it a month ago and it really helped my last period and my current one. I had been waking 3 times a night for 4 or 5 nights absolutely drenched in sweat and the epo seems to have stopped that. My period is lighter and the cramps far less.

Fishflakes · 13/06/2020 10:46

Flowers everyone still dealing with all this. I’m on day 3 of headache, exhaustion, yesterday’s nerve pains have gone, but tinnitus still happening.

TiddleTaddleTat · 13/06/2020 10:46

@alittleprivacy I haven't, to be honest my period is usually quite easily managed and I don't need to take painkillers. I might give it a try... I have never popped so many pills as I do now!

Toptottie24 · 13/06/2020 10:48

Thank you for that, I forgot to say I’ve started suffering from heartburn the past week, haven’t had it since I was pregnant and that was 24 years ago!!!

Ernieshere · 13/06/2020 10:55

@Toptottie24

I take the gaviscon 3-4 times a day, I should probably try to eliminate what foods are causing the acid, but I can't be doing with that at the mo!

Kitcat122 · 13/06/2020 11:49

@Lightsabre thank you. Luckily my husband has been furloughed so has been at home otherwise I don't know what I would have done. But he is back to work now the same as me. Luckily I have a wonderful teenage daughter who is a god send with the younger ones. I am the same as you if only the SOB would go I feel like I could cope. It's just very worrying when you're used to being so fit and active.

fedupofbed · 13/06/2020 11:50

@AndsLee I can't do links but the groups I'm on are covid #1in20 (proactive and quite empowering), Covid UK Long Haulers and Long Haul Covid Fighters. I use them sparingly- too much isn't good for my mental health! They all have topics too so you can just dip into the good news stuff if you prefer, like I do!

fedupofbed · 13/06/2020 12:03

@Crayfishforyou great that you're feeling a bit brighter.

@MillStone and @godhelpusall I'm wondering about PTSD too. At the peak of the illness, nights were so traumatic.

KatySun · 13/06/2020 14:01

Oh dear God, AndsLee was your reply a random person or a Scottish Government reply? Online support whilst wonderful is not medical care.

Keepdistance · 13/06/2020 14:34

Daily mail article says covid can cause diabetes in people that didnt already have it.

So could be worth considering if your blood sugar might be high.
My SOB got better after a few days into my period but also i started on lactulose as getting constipated.
Judging by people with reflux too has it maybe slowed down our digestion.
Ive also been getting like a burning tongue feeling.
Wen i was ill originally i couldnt sleep et and fast heart rate so maybe extra cortisol which would have also raised by blood sugar.

Haenow · 13/06/2020 15:14

Helpful tip for how to calculate heart rate from a GP. Hope this helps.

Haenow · 13/06/2020 15:16

@Keepdistance

That’s interesting about diabetes. In my usual blood tests, my GP included blood glucose and I wondering why! I’m on long term high dose steroids which, in itself, increases the risk.

Monty6 · 13/06/2020 15:29

For all those concerned about negative antibody tests this is worth a listen - . His earlier ones are also worth a watch.

AndsLee · 13/06/2020 16:03

Just feeding back:

Symptoms began 19 March - first PCR test on 1 May = negative

Reoccurance of symptom cycle begins 7 May. Today's PCR result = negative

Are we getting it again or not recovering ? ConfusedConfused

I am taking it as a win as I am not stuck in bed but today I have had chest discomfort, headache, feel like crying and don't know why, random sharp pains, want to be alone.

AndsLee · 13/06/2020 19:41

@KatySun
A random. It's ok, "got them telt". In a polite manner, of course. Wink

Hello all.
Really struggling with gerd / reflux here too. Often it's my throat as well as chest / stomach. Also bad earache. Have been feeling very low. This sucks so much.
Get well hugs to you all, sorry so many still suffering. Anyone got any theories on why we are getting these acid reflux problems?

Egghead68 · 13/06/2020 20:28

Great video @Monty6 - thank you. I’ll post it on the antibody test thread too.
