Celebrations, party hats, picnics, hugs, kisses, groups of 10,20 etc crowds squashed in next to river swimming.

My goodness, we are in for quite some second wave.

Scotland here, my street seemingly had a lockdown is over party too. No social distancing. All hugging and kissing. Kids out playing.

One of them is a nurse

Jenasaurus · 30/05/2020 22:40

Not too busy here, loads of social distancing in my bedroom :)

Jenasaurus · 30/05/2020 22:40

But then there would be, there is only me

FlamingoAndJohn · 30/05/2020 22:43

@rainbowlou

I bet some people are wishing they hadn’t gone to Durdle Door today!
What I don’t get is the people who turn up somewhere, see that it is clearly packed but continue to go there. I wouldn’t do that on a normal day, let alone as it is now.
Sundiamond · 30/05/2020 22:43

I’m in Brighton. I can’t believe how busy the beach was. It’s been like it all week - the police had to break up a 50 strong young person’s party early eve one night thus week.

Today, on the beach I was surrounded by groups of 10+ people. No one was social distancing within those groups. They weren’t young people either a mix of ages. DH saw friends of his in a local park - all sitting together, about 5 of them

In the past week or so our infection rate has doubled. I’m sorry, but I fail to believe it will be ok. It’s out of control, I really feel that. And not surprising - our government ha absolutely no strategy expect those offerings to appease the back benchers. And they’ve undermined their own public health message so badly.

Do you think we will need another stricter lockdown?

Tanfastic · 30/05/2020 22:46

Mobbed where I am (seaside resort).
Even dickheads breaking into public toilets that were closed in the town centre.

Tanfastic · 30/05/2020 22:47

I fear a regional lockdown is coming for our area.

rainbowlou · 30/05/2020 22:48

@FlamingoAndJohn I totally agree. It looked like my idea of hell regardless of what’s going on!
We aren’t far from there but don’t venture anytime during the school holidays before 6pm.

Sundiamond · 30/05/2020 22:51

@Tanfastic - where do you live?

Aridane · 30/05/2020 22:54

Not here either (London) . Larger groups but still far apart.

Same for me

Tanfastic · 30/05/2020 22:54

Blackpool.

Thighdentitycrisis · 30/05/2020 23:01

In London the same as the past couple of weeks in my local area, but I wouldn’t go to a park or river, I can’t even go in the garden: my bloody neighbours seem to be having a party and are playing music since 3pm

Ohmymg · 30/05/2020 23:03

North east here. Ridiculous crowds in the seaside town near me. A pub has started serving take away beer. The fish shop which is usually busy anyway has queues 50 people long. This is on top of groups buying crates from ASDA and sitting in groups with it. No public toilets open so people openly pissing in the back lanes.

The lovely, peaceful beach I normally take my dog to is rammed with arseholes sitting there for all day drinking and getting burned to a crisp. The same beach which the council threatened to ban dogs from when in one hour down there I filled a bin liner full of bottles, nappies and food containers Angry

Veronicat · 30/05/2020 23:06

Scotland here. Roads a little bit busier but everyone seems to be sticking to the 5 mile rule round here.

MrsFogi · 30/05/2020 23:08

A few huge parties this afternoon in our neck of the woods and absolutely no social distancing.

Duck90 · 30/05/2020 23:10

listening

No hysteria from me!

I said partly responsible, and it was in relation to the volume of visitors (not the idiots jumping) If the car park was limited less people would be on the beach - the place was packed with people. Shops are limiting the volume of customers at a time. If you haven’t seen it there are some shops saying 2 customers at a time. The business owner has a duty to reduce the spread.
Perhaps you are related to the owners?

Celeriacacaca · 30/05/2020 23:11

I suspect the reason the R number is still high is because of VE Day so goodness knows where we'll be in two or three weeks time. I dread to think. I could hear lots of lunches/drinks/bbqs/kids having fun playing together in the gardens we back on to today.

ScarfLadysBag · 30/05/2020 23:16

Seemed unchanged mainly in our little part of Scotland. The neighbours had their mum and dad round for an hour or two in the garden in the afternoon, which is allowed here now, but otherwise our street was quiet as usual.

DishingOutDone · 30/05/2020 23:19

Village here I live they have never understood or cared about social distancing etc and they view with contempt anyone who does want to observe it. I think from some of the comments on other threads, most of them are on here too .... but I digress: DH just took the dog out he said lots of houses in darkness and no cars - people are still out at parties or have gone away for the weekend Sad

Silentplikebath · 30/05/2020 23:20

My Dc works in ICU and says they are getting busier by the day. Some ICU departments are almost full again.

littlebillie · 30/05/2020 23:21

It's past 11pm and I can hear a massive party going on.

AdalindMeisner · 30/05/2020 23:26

I'm lancashire and it is definitely over here Sad. To be fair though it apparently never even began in certain areas, for example my street - I see them all in and out of each others houses, adults and kids alike hanging around on the square which I can see from house and have done all throughout lockdown - they are not too bright around here. Sad

pontypridd · 30/05/2020 23:31

listening - it must sound like hysteria if you live somewhere that people are still being sensible.

Believe me, you would not think me hysterical if you'd seen what we saw today.

We will need to lock down again - soon - here - anyway. But the government won't be paying anymore furlough - that's for sure, I would have thought.

So I don't think the next lockdown will be able to be stricter. Will it? This is literally out of control.

lesbihonest · 30/05/2020 23:31

Also Scotland - still very much social distancing here in the main, just more folk sitting on their doorsteps having a yap.

Did see my grandmother yesterday and admit we did sit closer than 2 metres (DM and I) - her hearing aids have packed in completely and she’s been very lonely/upset, crying down the phone . None of us have seen anyone else since 13th March - so unless we caught it from contactless deliveries or off the post ... seems highly unlikely we’d have it .

Soontobe60 · 30/05/2020 23:33

Went to visit my DD in her huge garden today over in Wigan. The roads, M60 and M62 were very quiet, which I was pleased at because usually on a sunny Saturday the motorway going north is usually chocked. The roads around my town and Wigan were both quiet. Our roads are very quiet tonight! Keeping my finger crossed.
