Since when is it the voter's job to 'be kind' when a politician cocks up? Or forgive them when they lie?

It is the politicians' job to work in our interests, not their own, and to tell the truth if caught out. And resign if found to be lying.

Fuck this idea that poor ickle Dom is being picked on.

If he cocks up and lies about it, he needs to go - the same as Ferguson was made to go and the Scottish Health advisor woman.

If you are responsible for setting the policy and can't keep to your own policy, you need to resign.

I do wonder if behind the scenes Boris told Cummings he's about to go out and make a complete twat of himself in front of those who elected him - so he better advise his arse off for the next 4 years and make the taxpayer realise you were worth their money.

I’d say his advice is pretty worthless as he obviously is a poor judge of public reaction.

I’ve emailed my Tory MP, the office of the Prime (ha!) Minister and Sir Graham Brady.

Please consider doing the same!!! A torrent of emails may not do much but it’s got to be better than letting Johnson think people ‘understand’ DC’s ludicrous position and - worse - the cabinet’s mealy mouthed defence of it.

You'd have to be pretty certain about what you sure to go on record with the guardian, and file a complaint to the police. Those aren't the actions of someone making it up.

I've emailed my MP and signed the petition.

Hopefully if the pressure keeps mounting Johnson will be forced to act.
