Whatever you do, DO NOT break lockdown now just out of fury that Cummings is a selfish, hypocritical, lying shit and Johnson is a lying, cowardly shit.

That is exactly what they want you to do.

They want a nice big massive second wave which they can then blame on you for not following the guidelines properly.

Basically, the government isn't going to look after you or your elderly parents. So we need to look after ourselves and our families, ourselves.

That means NOT going up visit elderly parents if you could be infectious. Unlike Cummings, who clearly cares for his own parents no more than he cares for old people in general, we should be making sure we continue to shield our vulnerable elderly.

Remember, two wrongs don't make a right. Just because Cummings is a twat, don't be a twat yourself.

What a great post effingterrified and I agree with every word.

I won't be doing the right thing because this government tells me to. I will do it because it's the right thing.

I couldn't bring myself to watch the briefing because it would make me so angry. Thanks to everyone who could stomach it and has reported here.

Did BJ say that DC only went to Durham once? Have they doubled down on that?

YogaLite · 24/05/2020 18:14

Oh wow!!! Boris says it's ok to follow the instincts now.

I guess that explains his family situation too AngryAngry

tiredvommachine · 24/05/2020 18:14

@ListeningQuietly thank you again for keeping up reminding people to contact their MPs about this, you're a star Star

MockersxxxxxxxSocialDistancing · 24/05/2020 18:14

Sky (the National Broadcaster, BBC last seen up BJ's arse trying to get their computer to work) confirms the number given by the man in Barnard Castle is the number of a vehicle used by DC.

Now do Her Majesty's Press have more for tomorrow???

MockersxxxxxxxSocialDistancing · 24/05/2020 18:15

When it comes to fathering kids, BJ certainly follows his instincts.

GrimmsFairytales · 24/05/2020 18:15

Lots of shouting outside DS now, any idea what they're saying?

Roussette · 24/05/2020 18:16

Keir Starmer has tweeted as follows...

'This was a test of the Prime Minister and he has failed it.

It is an insult to sacrifices made by the British people that Boris Johnson has chosen to take no action against Dominic Cummings.

The public will be forgiven for thinking there is one rule for the Prime Minister’s closest adviser and another for the British people.

The Prime Minister’s actions have undermined confidence in his own public health message at this crucial time.

Millions were watching for answers and they got nothing. That’s why the Cabinet Secretary must now launch an urgent inquiry.'

MarshaBradyo · 24/05/2020 18:17

Keir is very much in my good books.

Music101 · 24/05/2020 18:17

good point, lets not shoot ourselves in the feet!

Yes absolutely. Cummings is an arrogant person who has done a lot of damage to this country over the past 4 years, and Boris is a gaslighting toad with totalitarian tendencies,
but we should not sink to their level and carry on with what we are doing. For the good of each other.

Bluetrews25 · 24/05/2020 18:18

Covidgate, you are upon us.

GrimmsFairytales · 24/05/2020 18:19

Sky... confirms the number given by the man in Barnard Castle is the number of a vehicle used by DC.

I wonder if we'll see the proof tomorrow. They waited all day to drop the bombshell about the other trips, which allowed them to tie themselves in knots defending him. Perhaps they were holding onto more just in case BJ didn't sack him.

SixesAndEights · 24/05/2020 18:19

Someone will probably be fired, but I suspect they will think it was worth it.

Why? It was legal, responsible, and they were acting on instinct!

Cameron2012 · 24/05/2020 18:19

Boris Johnson
‘I completely understand why people are confused’
I’m not confused, I’m not at all confused

OceanOrchid · 24/05/2020 18:20

Why? It was legal, responsible, and they were acting on instinct!

This should be the standard response to everything forever.

Roussette · 24/05/2020 18:20

Oh my!

This is the official Twitter account for the Civil Service. Someone posted this.
Then deleted it shortly after.

Covidgate

Early reports described Cummings Jr as a 'toddler,' which could have made it Cow&Gate.

Areyouactuallyseriousrightnow · 24/05/2020 18:21

This has made me so so angry I want to riot in the streets. (I probably won’t, I may quietly write a polite letter of protest to my local MP)

GrimmsFairytales · 24/05/2020 18:21

Why? It was legal, responsible, and they were acting on instinct!

My apologies, how foolish of me. You are of course right. Grin

No and I had my ear pressed up against the ipad.

Roussette · 24/05/2020 18:22

Luckily the Guardian picked it up before it was deleted Grin

TheSandman · 24/05/2020 18:22

PMQs on Wednesday is going to be a bloodbath if BloJob doesn't sack him. What credibility does this shitshow shower of bastard government have now? NONE.

Roussette · 24/05/2020 18:23

Oh my gosh... the person who tweeted it has just been fired

ploopmoop · 24/05/2020 18:23

Does anyone think this is going to go away?

What does Dom have on Bojo that Boris will go down with him?

ListeningQuietly · 24/05/2020 18:24

@Toppersail / @tiredvommachine
it is really, really important
that people hold their elected representatives to account
every month
not just at Election time.

Johnson has a majority of 80
but if 75 of them realise that their best interests are served by turning on him ......

@Areyouactually me too! And I’ve written just now even though every instinct is telling me to storm the bastille Grin
