There’s no way they’re going to implement home learning for another year. It’s completely unsustainable, the economy will collapse, they’ll be horrific consequences for millions of dc. At some point soon sense will prevail and we’ll all have to start living with the risks of coronavirus.

I have a lot of sympathy with the position that some schools need more Time and money to prepare. Every school is different in terms of structure, staffing etc. It’s the ‘schools shouldn’t open ever/until 100% safety can be guaranteed’ position that I disagree with. Oh and the ‘school isn’t childcare, learn to deal with your own children’ position. I love spending time with my child, she’s my favourite person. I do not want to home school her. If I wanted to be a teacher I would have trained as one. I am not capable of effectively teaching her AND doing my own job (which I did spend years training for). I cannot afford to give up said job to teach her. My outgoings are not extravagant but yes are based on me being able to work whilst she was in school. Most families do this - if not, most would have a SAHP! This does not mean I think schools are ‘childcare’. If people need to stop working to home school then who will pay taxes??

I think schools need to get back. And people should get back to work.

Is there going to be a big spike because of the VE celebrations? I don't think there is.

I suspect a very small % of the population has had it. When are we all going to get it? I'd rather have it now, to be honest.
We do seriously need people to get it. But they aren't are they?
