jackstini · 17/05/2020 09:45

mondaynoon · 17/05/2020 09:53

Still working and doing more hours to cover people who are off. I don't work all day but I have worked every day since lockdown plus 2 nights a week.

CrowdedHouseinQuarantine · 17/05/2020 10:41

interestingly when i answered this question at the beginning of lockdown or so there were still a Lot of us going to work
i think the furlough scheme has been very popular

allthegoodusernameshavegone · 17/05/2020 10:45

Working throughout, very stressful times

CrowdedHouseinQuarantine · 17/05/2020 10:46

actually a few of my colleagues who are WFH are isolated and lonely and unable to do their work very well Sad

Ruddle91 · 17/05/2020 10:49

WFH. I'm shielding (yes I have the letter and everything) due to a severe lung disease. Never been more grateful to have a garden - my little bungalow is small (been in 2 bed flats bigger) but the garden is a good size and we've been out there with DS 2.5 even in torrential rain. I'm working my full hours without any childcare and it's exhausting.

ginsparkles · 17/05/2020 10:53

Furloughed. Non essential retail.

Redglitter · 17/05/2020 10:57

Working same as always. Unable to social distance when I'm there

GuppytheCat · 17/05/2020 11:00

Massive sympathy to all those with jobs at risk or lost in this, and those working long hours in difficult circumstances

EBearhug · 17/05/2020 11:41

WFH, and we've been told it's likely till the end of the year. Otherwise normal work and normal hours.

Already worked from home some days, but don't want to do it full time forever. It's fine at the moment, but I am not sure it will feel so good when the days start getting shorter and colder, though I realise this is a privileged thing to worry about.

There are all sorts of rumours being talked about the office, like only using every other desk or only allowing certain people in on certain days and reconfiguration of all meeting rooms to allow social distancing. It can't all be happening, as some of the suggestions contradict each other, so I am mostly ignoring it all till we have definite news. But if I won't be in the office at the same time as the rest of my team, then there's little point me being in the office anyway.

HavenDilemma · 17/05/2020 12:21

Not employed due to severe health issues so my income has stayed relatively the same. What a waste of a Degree...

SudokuBook · 17/05/2020 20:11

Thanks @GuppytheCat. It’s completely shit and right up until the moment it happened I would never have expected it in a million years

empireants · 17/05/2020 20:34

I'm working from home and there's not been any talk about us returning. Feel very fortunate to have a secure job when it's so hard for so many.

lljkk · 17/05/2020 20:49

WFH but no idea when I'll be paid or how much I'll be paid. Only somewhat confident who my employer will be in 3-9 months. Don't expect to be allowed back in office before there is a vaccine.... unless I get a different job. That's possible, too.

Glitterb · 17/05/2020 21:14

I am now back to work in the office full time after bring furloughed for 4 weeks. I work in construction plant hire and things are picking up for us. I am extremely grateful to still have a job and my employers have been great at enforcing social distancing etc. I know a lot of friends who will most likely be losing their jobs in the next few months so it’s a stressful time.

Muchtoomuchtodo · 17/05/2020 21:15

Work as normal.
Therapist in NHS.
Hours were increased (voluntarily) but back down to contracted hours now but spread over a 7 day week rather than 5 days.

OnNaturesCourse · 17/05/2020 21:18

I'm at home as normal SAHP however DP is furloughed (and getting under my feet now lol)

He's been off since the day lockdown came into play, and has been told atleast another two weeks.

PuzzledObserver · 17/05/2020 22:09

I am normally home-based anyway but would be out meeting people several times each week. All those contacts now are via phone/Zoom.

Not sure how long that’s going to continue - a couple of months at the very least (for my sector) but parts of it a lot longer as some of the work involved home visits and the client base is mostly vulnerable, so it will be a considerable time before we do that. And for me personally, even the other aspects are likely to stay remote, because I am clinically vulnerable, although not shielded

DH still doing his part-time paid work as normal (care setting) but has dropped his volunteering, so is around the house 4 days a week. Thank goodness we have the space to work separately.

Orangesox · 18/05/2020 07:37

I have three different advisory positions (I like to be busy, or I’m mad... take your pick)

  1. Normally on sites 3 days, WFH for foreseeable
  2. WFH as usual, but we are now 3 short in a 13 man team and I seem to be picking up the slack for all 3 on my two days a week Confused
  3. WFH supporting PHE with test, track and trace so fitting that in wherever with the capacity to increase if one of the above have to furlough or make redundant.
CraftyGin · 19/05/2020 21:25

I am WFH as a secondary school teacher, teaching to the normal timetable via Google Hangouts and Google Classroom.

Just found out today that we will going back in September, so WFH until July.

It's fine.

anyoldname76 · 19/05/2020 21:28

I'm still goingto work in an office, I have throughout

FinallyHere · 19/05/2020 21:31

WFH pretty much as usual. The teleconferences are getting to be more chatty, the longer we don't see each other.

MrsLindor · 19/05/2020 21:54

WFH full time, 5 days out of 7 rather than my usual Monday to Friday, since lockdown I've been mainly doing Covid related work (NHS) but we're starting to get back to "normal" I can't see us being back in the office at all for several months yet and we'll probably never go back full time, we're too cramped into small offices with narrow corridors and small communal areas.

I'm working on getting my small box bedroom organised into an office, so I can get my kitchen table back. I need to claim the tax rebate for WFH which will help pay for a desk.

Galvantula · 19/05/2020 22:03

Working at work and have been throughout. Occasional WFH days allowed/required to keep the numbers down.

orangina · 19/05/2020 22:06

WFH, will continue to do so for the foreseeable....
