I’m wfh with no idea when I’ll be heading back into the office, how about everyone else?

Wfh, the big bosses in my department will want us back asap when it's allowed but I am hoping that my request to continue wfh few days a week will be accepted. There is no practical reason why it would not be allowed, the company has spent a lot of money and time even before covid to enable wfh. Yet it wasn't even discussed at my department, just straight up refused.

MissMatchedClaws · 17/05/2020 00:11

WFH, more than normal hours, normal pay. Looks likely to carry on until autumn or beyond.

luckymagnoliatree · 17/05/2020 00:30

I was WFH for one week before lockdown and then the first week of official lockdown - which was a total nightmare with having my two young children at home too! I have been furloughed by my employer since 1st April until the end of May on 80% pay, as my work has all dried up. Was supposed to be being reviewed mid-May but I haven't heard anything back from them yet. I'm not sure if my work will be starting up again or if they will be extending my furlough. I'm hoping I will have a job to go back to but time will tell!

calamityjam · 17/05/2020 01:16

Furloughed until God knows when as I'm a bistro front of house manager. We are not doing takeaways, as our chef is a single parent with primary age kids. Also 99% of our business is sit down so we couldn't survive on the odd takeout order even if our staff could work.

autumnboys · 17/05/2020 05:53

WFH, so is DH. We both have furloughed colleagues, so are working our own jobs and picking up some slack. He works in London, his employer is very cautious, so he may be at home for some time. I work very locally, I could walk there, but the building I work in cannot open until July 4th at the earliest. I don’t think I’ll be back at work until September.

Rowgtfc72 · 17/05/2020 06:16

Still at work, food production. Social distancing just about doable.

Toomboom · 17/05/2020 06:56

Furloughed on 80% pay. No idea when I will be going back.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 17/05/2020 07:10

Working as normal although gone from part time to full time, NHS admin

Winnipegdreamer · 17/05/2020 07:19

Furloughed (both of us are) and I was told on Friday I’m at risk of redundancy

rooty123 · 17/05/2020 08:17

Furloughed, no possibility of WFH, returning soon to 50% hrs 50% pay.

Ledkr · 17/05/2020 08:31

Working from home as adoption support worker. Same hours lots if zoom or skype and will see families if needed but in the garden.
My 9 year old is pretty good and will work for a while next to me and i sit her in front of bitesize or oak academy with headphones when i zoom.
Dh is police so out all the time.
18 year old dd is trying to finish college work remotely and shes less motivated than the 9 year old Confused

Pandsbear · 17/05/2020 08:34

DH &I both WFH, full hours. I didn’t have remote work access for the first 3 weeks but since then I have been trying to work normally. Imagine we will be WFH for months which would be better if we had offices! But glad we are both still in a job.

cologne4711 · 17/05/2020 08:38

DH and I both WFH. Both employers making noises about a very gradual return but could be months away. DH's employer reopening office in mid-June but you will have to have special permission to use office and not have to use public transport and there will be very limited facilities. My office is open but only about 4 people are there (from around 300) who do jobs like printing, sending out couriers etc.

My hours were cut to 80%, I am probably working 120% for 80% pay! I am very part-time anyway though so I don't really mind.

SudokuBook · 17/05/2020 08:41

Been wfh until last week where I was told I’d lost my job

DrDreReturns · 17/05/2020 08:42

Furloughed. The Managing Director seems to be confident there will still be a job for me when the furlough scheme ends but you never know. In any case the office won't open until the autumn, so if I do go back I'll be working from home.

CrowdedHouseinQuarantine · 17/05/2020 08:44

Still going to work,
we have moved locations, and luckily have a very spacious office.
who knows about the future since we are using the offices of people that are currently WFH

VaselineOnToast · 17/05/2020 08:46

WFH with normal hours and pay (in a support service for healthcare).

I've only been in the role a few months. It's the first job I've had where 90% of the work can be done on a computer, remotely. Very thankful for this at the moment.

BeltaneBride · 17/05/2020 08:47

Whf -time teaching timetable via Zoom secondary core subject. The Y11s who would have been doing GCSEs have started their A level courses instead so quite exciting innovation -they will have had an extra term of A level teaching than they normally would so goes some way to mitigating their fear over results. We are also teaching DC who have applied to school for the 6th form to make it fair.

happypotamus · 17/05/2020 08:51

Going out to work as normal in a hospital

Mintjulia · 17/05/2020 08:54

I’m furloughed until the end of May. Not sure I have a job to go back to.

I want to work but as a single mum . 11yo ds at home, this is my only chance to be a SAHM so I’m trying to make the best of it.

AlohaMolly · 17/05/2020 08:59

Furloughed on 80% pay. My job can largely be done from home and I used to sporadically over the winter as a large part of my role is admin and social media management. I work for a holiday home management company so not sure at all if I’ll return to work any time soon!! On the one hand, I know we are taking bookings but I haven’t checked when from or how many, so part of me wonders if they’ll bring me back part time from August. The other part of me wonders if I’ll be made redundant from October Sad

My boss is more like my adoptive dad so I know he’ll do his best to keep me on but I do think the tourism industry is a bit buggered! If we do struggle through, I envisage wfh at least one of my 2.5 days a week until the start of the next season in 2021, maybe easter time.

Travelban · 17/05/2020 09:38

Working from home, long hours. Pay hasn't changed. I normally travel regularly in the week, both nationally and internatiobally but can't see that resuming anytime soon.....

longhaulstress · 17/05/2020 09:42

Furloughed on 80% pay. No idea when we'll return and possible redundancies at the end of all of this.

TravellingSpoon · 17/05/2020 09:43

Still going to work and doing 40 hour weeks to help cover staff shortages. My contract is 24.

bringonyourwreckingball · 17/05/2020 09:45

WFH much longer hours than usual but no commute and more flexibility so on balance it’s fine. Not expecting to be back in the office full time any time soon. DH is going back one day a week from Monday, wfh the rest.
