What were you doing?

I had a lovely afternoon in town with DH looking at guitars in music shops, buying some wine and bits for dinner. Really mundane stuff by usual standards but I'd give anything to do that now. We came home on a crowded bus - I had no idea it'd be the last time I'd use public transport for months!

I'd had an inkling that things might get serious, but it still felt a bit 'other worldly'. We bought DS a cheap laptop as we'd been meaning to for about 12 months, so he could do a bit of school work on it. I am SO glad we did it, turned out to be really vital for his school work.
We had lunch at Bella Italia and did some browsing. It was lovely.
I wish I'd had the foresight to buy socks and pants, ours are all wearing a bit thin now! Serviceable but getting a bit grey and holey!Grin
I remember feeling worried about Italy. Never thought we would mirror/surpass their situation.

I went to my friend's on the Friday night for a glass of wine and a catch up, cos I had a feeling that lockdown was coming. Didn't do much on the Saturday, on the Sunday I took DS to his swimming lesson then went to my mum's as it was mother's day.

I miss normal life. Sad

I miss normal life

A billion times this.

Pretty much the same, we were already being told not to mix with people by then so we spent the weekend at home for mother’s day. Went to the park with the kids.

AuntieMarys · 16/05/2020 14:44

Facial and nails in the morning. Boozy late lunch in a local restaurant.

ParkheadParadise · 16/05/2020 14:46

I cant remember.
Feels like we've been in lockdown for years🤣

ohidontgetit · 16/05/2020 14:48

17 year old DD’s new boyfriend came round for introductions and DH cooked us all a lovely roast dinner. Close friend of mine also popped round with her new baby. All sat in garden for a while with some drinks.

Seems unthinkable now.

lubeybooby · 16/05/2020 14:50

I had my adult DD visiting and we stayed in, knowing things were starting to kick off massively wrt to infection numbers. We did silly art with acrylic paints

I went to oxford st. The shops were empty then and we wete the only ones in thd gap. It git a litrle busier but not much. ;( was odd

Sleepyblueocean · 16/05/2020 14:57

We were already staying close to home and avoiding people. Our last completely normal Saturday was 2 weeks before that.

MadameMarie · 16/05/2020 14:58

Self isolating because I was ill.

TrickyWords · 16/05/2020 14:58

DD came home from uni and we had my birthday dinner with cake. Cake

Mmmmycorona · 16/05/2020 15:00

I was at work. What I’d give to be able to go to work now and earn some money.

AlexaShutUp · 16/05/2020 15:00

Weekend at home, we were already social distancing.

Sgtmajormummy · 16/05/2020 15:02

I’d booked a full class party (24 kids and assorted parents) in a pizzeria for DD’s 14th birthday. Although it was still legally possible everybody understood it would be madness. So we cancelled.
DD is never going to let me forget it. Wink

Flymetothetoon · 16/05/2020 15:02

DH and I had a trip to our favourite garden centre.

marriednotdead · 16/05/2020 15:03

Isolating with DS and DP as I was already ill with suspected COVID.

Puffykins · 16/05/2020 15:04

I went to an exhibition with my children, and that evening I had dinner with my best friend, and then went to the theatre and saw an excellent play. And I'm so pleased that I did all that.

BasinHaircut · 16/05/2020 15:08

We had a bottomless boozy brunch out with a big group of friends and went for cocktails after in Central London. It had been booked for ages (and was my birthday) so we decided to go but did weigh it up beforehand.

Glad we did now as will probably be the last time we get to do something like that for a long time!

vanillandhoney · 16/05/2020 15:09

We were already social distancing by then, so we just stayed home.

But on the Sunday we did go out to our local pub for lunch - we were the only ones there for the entire two hours - very eerie.

Casualbride · 16/05/2020 15:12

Went to theatre and out for dinner. I remember saying we should make the most of this, we might not do it again for a while!

PonderTweek · 16/05/2020 15:12

I was supposed to have a tattoo appointment to get my sleeve finished but I cancelled it. Sad We pulled my son out of nursery the week before and had spent most of our time at home anyway, so the Saturday was pretty uneventful. If I recall correctly I was just getting over a bad case of tonsillitis so wouldn't have gone out anyway...

Rebelwithallthecause · 16/05/2020 15:15

Went to Waterstones to stock up on books and then to the ground of a country house with flasks of tea to enjoy being out and about

DrMadelineMaxwell · 16/05/2020 15:18

Drove to York with my sister to bring my DD and most of her stuff home from uni.

Willowmartha1 · 16/05/2020 15:19

I had a lunch date and a stroll it was lovely, all seems such a distant memory now......
