New thread,

I won't be a very good host as I tend to dip in and out of these things but have filled up the last thread. (Sorry)

I hope that information helps somebody. The Saturday evening before Mother’s Day I spent with my mother and sister but we socially distanced ( albeit inside) neither have developed the virus

Sunshinespacecadet · 21/05/2020 18:23

On the Saturday evening I felt fine apart from a slight sore throat but I wasn’t coughing at all

AndsLee · 21/05/2020 18:37

See this is the thing... I haven't had a cough. I don't think my lungs have been the predominant issue. Initially I thought so, I thought the pain was at the bottom of my lungs. Since then, I realised it's my stomach that has largely been the issue. I have had bloods taken, inflammation markers and a d-dimer, all fine. But there is still something hampering my breathing, and I don't know what it is? I am being treated for GERD - racitidene because omeprazole doesn't agree - which has helped the waterbrash. But there is still this...sensation ...where my breathing just isn't right. Like, snoring while awake?

Haenow · 21/05/2020 18:38

@Whatnext2018

When your sats are low, is it when you first put on the oximeter? And when you say ‘not long’, do you mean more than 10/15 mins or less?

Sunshinespacecadet · 21/05/2020 18:44

@AndsLee have you had a chest X-ray?

Whatnext2018 · 21/05/2020 18:51

@Haenow Hi, it’s been a couple of times when I’ve put it on straightaway, mainly it climbs pretty much straightaway but sometimes can go back down/hover around 94/95. Should I be worried? I only really leave it on each time for a minute or two, is that wrong?

Whatnext2018 · 21/05/2020 18:52

A couple of times as soon as I’ve put it on it says 92, then 93, 94, 95 fairly quickly (less than a minute) but has gone back to 94 a couple of times

AndsLee · 21/05/2020 18:56

@Sunshinespacecadet you mention a heartburn feeling in your lungs? I definitely have had heartburn like never before. To the point at one night Iiterally thought I was going to erupt like a volcano.

Ok...symptoms

  • started with this sensation while walking, as if I was being pushed down into the ground. 19th March
  • headache, exhausted, buzzing under skin
  • severe pain and cramps in stomach for 3 days. Had a fever.
  • total appetite loss
  • dizzyness
  • loss of taste and smell
  • discoloured tongue
  • night terrors
  • waking up in a pool of sweat
  • terrible panic attacks
  • a night of back pain and bad tremors of my legs. Numbness in both arms.
  • then the allergy symptoms. Burny skin sensations with the constricted throat thing/breathing difficulties (I have no allergies)
  • rash
  • sore eyes
  • then very sore, burning throat - think caused by the heartburn
  • swollen glands
  • pain in underarms and groin

Repeat at will...

Most recent symptoms:

  • burning pain across lower back
  • redevelopment of a rash
  • sore ears, some tinnitus
  • still that horrible throat sensation
  • stinging eyes
  • back pain (think this is muscular though)
  • loss of taste last night and this morning - back now though
  • GERD - much improved due to diet and probiotics. I also think racitidene is a wee bit milder than omeprazole. BUT. I am well overweight so needed to lose a few pounds anyway, but my love affair with food is over for now...Grin
AndsLee · 21/05/2020 19:00

@Sunshinespacecadet no, no chest x-ray. I have been wondering if my lungs have played a bigger part in this than I think...

AndsLee · 21/05/2020 19:06

I sympathised when I read Longshot's experience when she thought she might have angina. The sharp pain she felt was heart related after stress. I experienced that maybe twice. I think...my heart rate is ok...though it gets really slow at night. Doc seems unconcerned. Then again, when one afternoon a bulge popped out in my abdoman, right hand side, he also seemed unconcerned. "Popped rib". Em... great stuff doc, only one problem there... there isn't a rib there to pop... And so the bulge remains...

Sunshinespacecadet · 21/05/2020 19:38

@AndLee maybe you should ask if you can have an X-ray. Volcano describes exactly how I felt. I also had painful ears which I forgot to mention.
My cough was minimal and only lasted a day or two.

Egghead68 · 21/05/2020 19:39

Just coming on to extol the virtues of gentle yoga for those of us with tachycardia. 20 minutes after my class ended and my heart rate is still 65!!!! It’s not been below 85 all day before this. Same thing happened last week.

Sunshinespacecadet · 21/05/2020 19:42

@AndsLee I also forgot to mention sweating profusely (I’m on HRT )and don’t normally suffer from night sweats, to the extent my bedding was soaking through

Egghead68 · 21/05/2020 19:50

Welcome @sunshinespacecadet. Do you feel that you are improving at all now or is it just up and down?

LetsBeSensible · 21/05/2020 19:54

Day 65 maybe. Thanks @hollieberrie for that link. I’m totally bloody floored today, aunt flow due imminently although she seems a bit on time/late (she calls every 21st day usually) I had a lie down for an hour, unfortunately I missed a text asking if I was better yet (why keep asking if the answer is always no? It’s so annoying)

Emailed the GP, they have a brilliant e-form thing which asks a million questions, I wrote sooooo much info. Got a call from a locus who was surprised I couldn’t speak....hadn’t read a bloody thing.
He said I could go to A&E for a blood test, otherwise there’s nothing he can do if I can’t come in. Have asked for a call from “my” Dr tomorrow. I’m from a medical family and I could not in good conscience go to A&E, the GP needs to deal with it not pass the buck. I was then offered a covid test despite my first symptoms being 9 weeks ago. I declined.
I was excit3d to hear about the antibody test being announced but all they said is that HCP & Care staff will be tested first.

MillStone · 21/05/2020 19:55

@Lightsabre that’s awesome! Bet it was surreal. Hope you’re on top of the breathlessness since resting.

@Egghead68 that’s great. I miss my yoga so much. Was your class on zoom or YouTube? What routine is working for you? Any YT recommendations would be amazing.

AndsLee · 21/05/2020 19:57

@Sunshinespacecadet - yip, I hear you. There was one night I literally launched myself out of the bed in a blind panic... dripping with sweat.

See, also...
In the mornings, I am still waking up very warm. But I don't know if I was like that before? My fella always says it's like lying next to a radiator. Have I become to over vigilant and sensitive to every little quirk or tweek??

Talking of little tweeks... some have mentioned the pain behind the right ear? I don't have pain...I have a "fluttering" sensation.

AndsLee · 21/05/2020 20:03

@Egghead68 great to hear...!

@LetsBeSensible Hope your GP gets it done for you! I'm gonna adopt that attitude...

Egghead68 · 21/05/2020 20:08

@MillStone it was a zoom class with my old teacher. Haven’t looked at the YouTube ones but I heard yoga with Adrienne is good.

@LetsBeSensible I know what you mean about not wanting to misuse A&E. I had only been twice in my life before getting this (now been an extra three times, all at GP’s behest). My experience is that they are empty and overstaffed at the moment though so I wouldn’t feel too guilty about going.

Haenow · 21/05/2020 20:12

@Whatnext2018

I asked because it’s common for oximeters to flash lower numbers for a minute or two when you first put it on. If it’s 94% or above, you’re ok. Perhaps keep it on for 5 minutes. If you’re dropping below 92-94% for more than 5 minutes, you probably should get checked by a doctor again.
It sounds more reassuring now you’ve explained.
Take care though. Flowers

Moominmamma33 · 21/05/2020 20:12

Quick one for @Rosesofeyam I am with you on the sensitivity to warm and cold. Being out in the sun yesterday felt incredibly intense like my skin was being scorched. Had to have the shower on cooler than I usually do as it felt scalding. Any cool air feels arctic.. Forgotten who's said it recently now sorry but also experienced a massive dip just before my "monthly visitor", it was a relief when it started as the symptoms slightly abated. I'd had worsening SoB for two days prior, higher raised temps than for the last two months, and then a horrible abdomen pressure feeling, like a diffuse pain, really debilitating. Ugh..thanks for the links, people, and for all your posts and being here for everyone.

AndsLee · 21/05/2020 20:18

@Whatnext2018
My meter has flashed really low a couple of times when first popped on, but not for long. If it does this I pop it on the other index finger and then a middle finger to see if they give the same reading. Always has jumped back up. Weirdly, my left index finger reads lower than my right at times. I figured it's because of dry skin!

Lightsabre · 21/05/2020 20:26

Thx @MillStone, it was great but chatted to neighbours tonight during the nhs 'clap' and now throat feels raw and chest is a bit tight again. I just have to take it all very slowly.

How about you?

Whatnext2018 · 21/05/2020 20:35

@Haenow and @Andslee Thank you so much for your reassurance, it’s hard to distinguish at times between anxiety and justified concerns as there’s so many odd, scary symptoms as we all sadly know.

fedupofbed · 21/05/2020 20:38

@Egghead68 glad the yoga was a success. I'm not ready for a proper class yet but I do a 10 minute session lying down that focuses on abdominal breathing with a few very gentle stretches and twists. I'm finding it really beneficial.

Sorry if I missed this but did you sort out getting to your hospital appointment in the end?
