@baroqueandblue So sorry. Good luck in A&E.
@godhelpusall Horrible isn't it. Yesterday was 8 weeks since subtle symptoms but I've been taking it from the Sunday after when I became very ill.
In answer to your question, sorry it's a bit lengthy because I've been thinking a lot lately and i'd like to get it on paper
I believe I had the virus mild to moderately for 1-2 weeks.
In week 1 I felt pretty 'ill', had night sweats, tight chest and SOB. I dipped in week 2 and these symptoms worsened with the addition of a aching back, raw lungs, painful chest, sore throat, ear ache etc.
All of these were co-morbid with panic, anxiety and stress -- I believe this has played a huge role in hindering my recovery and my current PVF.
I think I beat the virus during week 2. I got better for a few days and actually felt good. Then during wk 3 post viral syndrome kicked in big time.
Extreme fatigue kicked in with the addition of a thumping and fluctuating heart, aching calf muscles, low level temp of 37.3, clamminess and a dull head ache.
My SOB has been and still the worst symptom throughout.
At 8 weeks I am still suffering with the above post viral symptoms. They are improving but I relapsed last week after doing too much (which was really nothing other than a few short walks and blood tests).
In regards to SOB, I think the reason Im suffering so badly now is more to do with the whole respiratory system and breathing muscles being chronically fatigued. They go in to shutdown just like my calf muscles and eyes.
My Dr said lung inflammation takes weeks to subside. But my breathing can now go from awful to okay in minutes. I think there was probably an overlap of lung airway inflammation and fatigue causing really bad breathlessness... but the inflammation has now reduced and subsided to the surrounding muscles and bones - hence the residual aches and pains.
Another random observation is regarding my nose. I noticed another poster recently wondered if their SOB was actually down to their nose. I thought this too recently because with even 1 nostril slightly blocked my SOB is more pronounced. Then I noticed if I breath in through a slightly stuffy nose, my heart speeds up significantly and thumps like mad. Where as if I breath in through my mouth it doesn't. I wondered if my body panics because it senses restricted breathing again so it tells my heart to go mad. Hyper sensitive body which is adrenaline fuelled and on high alert.
All of the above is total conjecture. But at a time where experts shrug their shoulders and tell you you're anxious...
Sorry for the long post, some of which may be stating the obvious.
