New thread,

I won't be a very good host as I tend to dip in and out of these things but have filled up the last thread. (Sorry)

Just to point out - anybody who feels they need A&E should go.
It’s just that I can run any queries past family who then advise me if the GP is passing the buck. There have been times in past years I’ve been told to get down to A&E asap!
And for a generic blood test...never A&E for a generic, non-urgent blood test.

AndsLee · 21/05/2020 20:49

@Whatnext2018
Absolutely! This is my problem without a doubt. I am an overthinker by nature. Serves me well in my profession, but often been my utter downfall in most other aspects of my life. Confused

You become hyper vigilant of every little thing! However, in this instance it's justified because we have no clue...well... "what's next" ... See what I did there...

I'll get my coat.

Mintypylonsfryingsurplus · 21/05/2020 20:54

I been on this thread a couple of times since early on.
Didnt think I would still be on here as beyond fed up.
After my little trip to A&E three weeks ago tomorrow, I did exactly as doctor said and have rested to the point of zen like stillness. (Due to hypoxia on exertion)
Last 10 days terrible IBS symptoms if I eat anything have to go.
Tonight tried to eat dinner and it tasted bland of nothing, smell is reduced ( can still smell things albiet a trace but I ended up putting a teaspoon of salt as craving this and only thing I could mildly feel.
The fatigue is off the charts if I lie down I doze off.
I really cant take this, I am now very depressed and avoiding people as they cant understand why I am so unwell. Also despite never been tested ( even though A&E doc saying due to weird hypoxia she certain it was post viral.
Sorry to ramble, I just dont know how to deal with this, its getting so hard...

fedupofbed · 21/05/2020 21:32

I'm so sorry @Mintypylonsfryingsurplus I'm with you, it's so hard. All we can do is listen to our bodies, rest when needed, sleep when needed, eat as well as possible. And slowly we will get there. Keep reading this thread - people do come back regularly to tell how they're improving. And it's a really good place to vent as everyone knows how you're feeling. Have you got people supporting you at home? Sending love 💐

Sunshinespacecadet · 21/05/2020 21:37

@Egghead68 thanks
I’m still very much up and down
I long to do yoga again

Mintypylonsfryingsurplus · 21/05/2020 22:27

@fedupofbed thank you 🙏
I am lucky with my DH looking after me, I cant imagine feeling like this with no support. I will keep on resting and hoping that it will pass in time. The recovery stories give me hope although its sad so many of us still battling away on here. Wishing you all a peaceful evening.

AndsLee · 21/05/2020 22:38

My fella's been with his mum for the duration. Lockdown happened and that was that... No time.

baroqueandblue · 22/05/2020 00:30

Hello, my Thursday has been pretty 'meh' - gone from having a brilliant day on Wed to waking up in pain this morning (mostly very stiff "back ribs" on either side, so when I take a decent breath it hurts, and twisting my torso is a no-no) and just feeling glum and unmotivated. Pottered about a bit in the kitchen and kept on top of the washing up but hardly got anything done really. Read for about an hour this evening, and about half an hour this morning. Rest of the time it's been eating, telly or sleeping! I guess getting quite a bit done yesterday caused more inflammation today. Hoping I'm feeling up to going food shopping tomorrow, really need a few things. Apart from the soreness, breathing has been fine again today.

Hope you've all had little wins today. Something I won on eBay arrived this morning (book and cards set) and it was really nice to open it in the sunshine and quiet after breakfast. I picked a card at random and read the corresponding meaning, which said something about creating the space for healing inside myself and believing that it'll come. The 'prescription' with the card was keeping an amethyst crystal near me (fetched one from a little bowl of tumblestones I keep on a shelf but hardly ever get out!), burning neroli essential oil (ordered some) and taking Bach Cherry Plum flower remedy, which was in a bag of lots of different ones I've bought and again hardly ever used! Very 'woo' I know but at this stage I'll take whatever I can get Grin It has helped to chill me out throughout the day, I kept looking at the card and amethyst and feeling more positive about things. This will go, I'm absolutely determined!

Great video @fedupofbed, thanks for posting Smile

Egghead68 · 22/05/2020 06:26

Morning. Day 62/63. I’ve had a few better days in a row now so just waiting for the crash.

Sorry you are still suffering @Sunshinespacecadet

Thanks for asking about my hospital appointment @fedupofbed. No news yet about whether they could change it to a nearer hospital. Wherever it ends up being I really hope they don’t put me in a covid positive clinic.

That sounds horrible @Mintypylonsfryingsurplus.

Hope everyone has an OK day.

MillStone · 22/05/2020 06:31

@Egghead68 thanks yes I know YWA. Her classes are really easy to follow and there are loads. Not sure I feel ready to take a zoom class with my teacher, or maybe it would be a really positive thing thing to do.

@Lightsabre thanks yes doing okay and slowly climbing out of my relapse. If anything it’s knocked my confidence and I’m so worried it will happen again. At the same time I know it’s important to keep pushing forward a bit in order to recover.

@baroqueandblue it’s great that your new goodies have made you feel so positive.

Sorry I can’t remember who it was on the previous page or so that mentioned feeling hot in the mornings and I’m having trouble finding the comment on my phone. But yes I’ve noticed this too. Every day I wake up Warm with red checks. Presume it’s just a response to such a sore and recovering body.

AndsLee · 22/05/2020 06:55

@Millstone I'd mentioned being hot in the mornings yesterday, and I think others have talked about it too. Hot this morning again, but temp reading 36.5. Had a rubbish night because I missed my 10.30pm window to fall asleep, and ended up doing the "snoring while awake" thing until 2pm.

Hope everyone managed to find some sleep last night.

MillStone · 22/05/2020 07:04

@AndsLee

Hi, thanks yeah it seems common doesn't it.

I know what you mean about a sleeping window. I find listening to a yoga nidra or guided meditation helps.

For the past 3 or 4 weeks I've been waking up at 3am and laying awake for a couple of hours.

godhelpusall · 22/05/2020 07:34

I can't remember who was having CRP blood test for inflammation?

godhelpusall · 22/05/2020 07:34

@MillStone I'm like you, wanting to trust recovery but fearing relapse. It's awful. What symptoms have you got now?

godhelpusall · 22/05/2020 07:36

Has anyone with the long tail version actually fully recovered yet?

AndsLee · 22/05/2020 07:40

I've been wondering, after watching the clip with Dr John Campbell...
If our cells take 3 to 4 months to replenish...could there be a connection? I.e. will recovery happen one all traces of the dead virus is gone?

godhelpusall · 22/05/2020 07:47

Well he seemed to be saying it's a 3 month half life so that means six months before they are all gone. I suppose if our immune systems are responding to dead virus that may be the case

baroqueandblue · 22/05/2020 07:56

Thanks @MillStone, wish I could say they'd done the trick but after only 3 hours sleep I woke around 6 very congested and short of breath. My back is aching, lungs are sore and I feel light-headed and anxious. Have managed a bit of breakfast, just going to brush my teeth and then off to A&E. Not taking any chances now, it's nearly 3 months and I've never had anything like this.

Will keep you all posted. Hope everyone has a better morning than I'm having so far!

godhelpusall · 22/05/2020 08:18

Good luck @baroqueandblue - don't get fobbed off!

AndsLee · 22/05/2020 08:25

@baroqueandblue best wishes! Good luck!

MillStone · 22/05/2020 09:46

@baroqueandblue So sorry. Good luck in A&E.

@godhelpusall Horrible isn't it. Yesterday was 8 weeks since subtle symptoms but I've been taking it from the Sunday after when I became very ill.

In answer to your question, sorry it's a bit lengthy because I've been thinking a lot lately and i'd like to get it on paper Blush

I believe I had the virus mild to moderately for 1-2 weeks.

In week 1 I felt pretty 'ill', had night sweats, tight chest and SOB. I dipped in week 2 and these symptoms worsened with the addition of a aching back, raw lungs, painful chest, sore throat, ear ache etc.

All of these were co-morbid with panic, anxiety and stress -- I believe this has played a huge role in hindering my recovery and my current PVF.

I think I beat the virus during week 2. I got better for a few days and actually felt good. Then during wk 3 post viral syndrome kicked in big time.

Extreme fatigue kicked in with the addition of a thumping and fluctuating heart, aching calf muscles, low level temp of 37.3, clamminess and a dull head ache.

My SOB has been and still the worst symptom throughout.

At 8 weeks I am still suffering with the above post viral symptoms. They are improving but I relapsed last week after doing too much (which was really nothing other than a few short walks and blood tests).

In regards to SOB, I think the reason Im suffering so badly now is more to do with the whole respiratory system and breathing muscles being chronically fatigued. They go in to shutdown just like my calf muscles and eyes.

My Dr said lung inflammation takes weeks to subside. But my breathing can now go from awful to okay in minutes. I think there was probably an overlap of lung airway inflammation and fatigue causing really bad breathlessness... but the inflammation has now reduced and subsided to the surrounding muscles and bones - hence the residual aches and pains.

Another random observation is regarding my nose. I noticed another poster recently wondered if their SOB was actually down to their nose. I thought this too recently because with even 1 nostril slightly blocked my SOB is more pronounced. Then I noticed if I breath in through a slightly stuffy nose, my heart speeds up significantly and thumps like mad. Where as if I breath in through my mouth it doesn't. I wondered if my body panics because it senses restricted breathing again so it tells my heart to go mad. Hyper sensitive body which is adrenaline fuelled and on high alert.

All of the above is total conjecture. But at a time where experts shrug their shoulders and tell you you're anxious...

Sorry for the long post, some of which may be stating the obvious.

Moodgie · 22/05/2020 09:58

Hi all, I had a batch of tests earlier this week, and just a had phone call back. Very reassuring: X-ray clear, ECG clear, bloods including D-Dimer fine, no infection. Treated as post viral syndrome.

fedupofbed · 22/05/2020 10:10

That's great @Moodgie hope you're feeling reassured?

@baroqueandblue really hope your trip to A&E goes okay, let us know...

Day 84 and I have a brand new symptom (though only a minor one)! My fingers and parts of my hand have gone red. They're also a bit puffy so taken my ring off as a precaution. I know others have reported this.

Moodgie · 22/05/2020 10:28

@fedupofbed Yes, this is definitely making me feel better. I really do hope this is post viral and the effing Groundhog Day will be a thing of the past soon.

AndsLee · 22/05/2020 10:29

@baroqueandblue yep, fingers red and puffy...
@millstone - it was me that mentioned the breathing through my nose. I haven't noticed the heart connection, but makes sense. I wondered if there is a pollop in my nose, but that would surely mean constant symptoms? And yes...my breathing can go from nasaly/throaty snoring to fine in minutes. I've also wondered if I am over breathing? I have had fluid in my throat, which I have put down to waterbrash, but maybe I do have some fluid round the lungs?
