New thread,

I won't be a very good host as I tend to dip in and out of these things but have filled up the last thread. (Sorry)

@fedupofbed SNAP!
Just swap recent facial issues with stomach issues but otherwise SNAP!!

I think all we can do for the anxiety is to make ourselves as comfortable as possible in the here and now? Relax, read, watch crap tv, listen to the birds, stare at the beautiful blue sky and lay in the sun (but don’t get too hot, I was really ill a couple of days ago after being in the sun and my heart rate went crazy because of the heat! I was laying down fgs!)
All sounds a bit drippy but I can’t do anything else at the moment and have given up hoping I’m on the mend and will be up and about ‘by next week’!! Good luck

Whatnext2018 · 21/05/2020 12:01

@MelClare Yes it does fluctuate a lot, that’s why if I sometimes put it on and it’s 92, it’s fteaking me out and making me more panicky. Last Friday I had blood tests done, Ecg (the one where they print out the heart rate is it?) blood pressure etc, getting blood tests tomorrow, she said all else is fine, but it could change in a week right?
I’m just sat here crying as I don’t know how much longer I can put up with the constant anxiety from this and feeling so strange. Just watching my toddler Dd in the paddling pool and feel so terrible, my whole mind is focused on this.

Whatnext2018 · 21/05/2020 12:09

Now it’s 99 and 63 🤷‍♀️Such a big variation

MelClare · 21/05/2020 12:13

@Whatnext2018 oh bless you, this is so horrible to get through.
I got obsessed with the oximeter, glad they only gave it to me for 3 days! Put it away somewhere and go and play with your daughter. Or at least sit with your feet in the pool and watch her. Think happy thoughts, she will look back and remember the days you spent together with fondness. 🥰

fedupofbed · 21/05/2020 12:16

Yes @MelClare your story read so similarly to mine, including the A&E visits, tests, etc. I'm still getting stomach issues too (dash to the loo every morning) and also in the last week or so have started to get hot flushes.

Yesterday I had too much sun in the garden, as you said, and have completely relapsed again today. Trying to be philosophical about it though.

I'm not sure what to do about the anxiety. My GP is urging me to take amitriptyline (for sleep as well) but ironically I'm too anxious to take it because I'm worried about side effects with my cardio symptoms. Does anyone else take it and also had palpitations (sorry I asked this a while back too)?

I'm doing abdominal breathing exercises, avoiding news and anything too scary/ medical and watching lots of mindless television (Jonathan Creek anyone?). I really believe that positive thinking helps but find it difficult to put it into practice when feeling so grotty. Any other tips anyone?

Meercatmama · 21/05/2020 12:19

Good morning
I have not posted for a while so I thought I would update day 67 for me now. Generally I am ok still get the hot flushes but that could the menopause Working from home ok and half a day a week in school which did make me tired and breathless last night. Can do things round the house but have to rest in between as I do get breathless. I do get the occasional sore throat and my ribs ache and the tops of my arms and the armpits. Sometimes my elbows really ache strange that one. The one constant this week is I have the cough back intermittently. Generally better but working at about 80%. Still pacing myself very carefully.

Moodgie · 21/05/2020 12:22

@fedupofbed How long have you had the morning toilet dash for? I’ve had it with nausea for about 5 weeks now, every day.
About 8 posts down, Stylistmagazine on Instagram has a guided meditation with a gong bath, it lasts about half an hour, I found it quite calming.

fedupofbed · 21/05/2020 12:30

@Whatnext2018 I'm so sorry you're feeling this way, I can completely empathise as I've had similar fluctuations. I've also had every test under the sun (including a week's heart monitoring) and they've all come back fine apart from arrhythmia.

When your SATS go to 92 is it just a brief dip or does it stay there for a while? Mine used to go low but just for very short periods and then rise up past 95 again. It really scared me. Breathing exercises helped. And I also stayed in close contact with my GP/111.

Unless I feel really breathless now I don't use the oximeter at all - it's just another thing which makes me anxious.

I can't remember where I got this advice from but I have to learn to trust my body to get through this - I've felt more ill than I ever have in my life but it's not let me down so far.

fedupofbed · 21/05/2020 12:37

Thank you @Moodgie I'll have a look.

I've had intermittent diarrhoea/GI problems the whole way through. It waxed and wains in severity but the morning dash has been pretty much constant for the last 8 weeks!

Mittens030869 · 21/05/2020 12:37

@MelClare

I do still have temperatures sometimes, in the afternoons and evenings, between 37.5 and 37.9. It was 38 or above for the first couple of weeks. It's stopped during the last 3 days, but I have been taking paracetamol for my chest pain, which also comes and goes.

Curiously, the sweats and shivers don't appear to be connected to body temperature, because it happens when my temperature is normal as well.

Like you, my hot flushes stopped about a year ago, and they didn't involve shivers. But I suppose there might be a connection, it will become clear when this particular illness clears up, hopefully soon.

fedupofbed · 21/05/2020 12:50

Thank you for updating us @Meercatmama . I'm glad you're still okay and being careful to pace yourself. It's a long journey but we'll get there.

godhelpusall · 21/05/2020 12:50

@fedupofbed what was the reason given for the arrhythmia?

fedupofbed · 21/05/2020 13:10

@godhelpusall he said arrhythmia can happen after a nasty virus, ie that it's post viral. He wasn't concerned about it at all.

Rosesofeyam · 21/05/2020 13:41

Day 64

Not too bad so far today.
I have helped DS sort the lawn mower, showing him how to get it out of the garage without wrecking the doorGrin / Angry and showing where the petrol is kept. I have left him to it.
The smell of the cut grass is making me wheezy.
I haven't done much and feel totally exhausted.
I am now waiting for the online delivery shop to turn up and DD will help me put it away.
Having exciting times in this house today.Grin

Egghead68 · 21/05/2020 14:04

Thanks for the article @hollieberrie.

I think I will manage around 60% of a work day today with frequent rest breaks (day 61/62) plus a gentle yoga class. A good day.

Whatnext2018 · 21/05/2020 14:13

@fedupofbed it tends to go back up, doesn’t stay too long, but has come up three times today. At a different reading was touching 100, so I’ve no idea. It definitely doesn’t help with anxiety though.

mumlurker · 21/05/2020 14:39

Woke up today with a numb jaw and tingling on my tongue? Something new every day. Day 69.

I've also developed a rash on two of my fingers - bring red,so much so I thought it was beetroot or lipstick or something the first time I noticed it. I'm also getting Raynaud's like symptoms in the rash hand. What's everyone's experience with rashes been?

Moominmamma33 · 21/05/2020 14:51

www.healthline.com/health/mast-cell-activation-syndrome Just posting this here, someone on the slack group mentioned it. I don't know anything about it really but it is possible that explains how our inflammation is being created and why so many body systems are involved...
I haven't got time to write a long post to reply to everyone sorry, @mumlurker I've had numb fingers before, no rash but had weird bruising.

pinkoneblueone · 21/05/2020 14:52

@mumlurker I am sporting a lovely chicken pox like rash on my head and had a red rash splodge develop over the join on my thumb my son has also had a chicken pox like rash on his body

OP posts:
emoojoo · 21/05/2020 15:00

@mumlurker I had red fingertips and toes for a couple of weeks on weeks 6-8 they're not so bad now but it does come and go some times. Have had weird either ice cold or burning hot hands earlier in with this virus - this has eased at the moment. I still sometimes get numb hands or an arm at night, these are getting less frequent now too (week 9)

mumlurker · 21/05/2020 15:02

Lovely stuff! At least a rash is bringing a bit of colour to my otherwise deathly pallid skin...

AndsLee · 21/05/2020 15:03

Good afternoon all!

May I join you? My current grade for this particular qualification is 67 days...

I've been reading though each day since mid-March, nodding my head in empathy to many of the symptoms mentioned along the way.

What's made me pipe up now...yes, I had a rash over the last few days on my hands. This makes me think the painful hands I put down to overwashing in April was also...a rash...(?)

Thank you all for the inspiration to "just keep swimming", as someone mentioned recently, you've kept me company through the darkest time of my life. We're all stronger than we know, huh? Can I join you, and keep on going as part of the team? X

emoojoo · 21/05/2020 15:04

@mumlurker also my 2 teenage sons have had occasional rashes (sort of large red patches) on feet, elbows and knees. I had red patches on knees around week 6. All very weird. I got quite paranoid worrying about rashes coming and going but trying to be calmer about it now as so many symptoms appear then go again over the weeks!

pinkoneblueone · 21/05/2020 15:23

Welcome @AndsLee, you’ll fit in round here hopefully one day soon we’ll be free of this all
