New thread,

I won't be a very good host as I tend to dip in and out of these things but have filled up the last thread. (Sorry)

He also got a coupe of swipes in about the government

Mittens030869 · 18/05/2020 18:24

My cough and chest pain have got worse today, and I still have a low level temperature on and off. I've also had more of a problem with mucus building up again, which is discouraging.

I'm planning to book a test now they're available, but it'll be very surprised if I test positive. But it will help if I test negative, as it be been self-isolating from my DH, who has asthma, and it will help to know that I'm not a risk to him.

It's antibody tests we really need, though.

Egghead68 · 18/05/2020 18:28

@SimpleKindofLife thanks for asking. I am still waiting on an echo and 24-hr ECG but overall my heart rate is slightly lower (108ish walking and 88ish resting).

I can’t remember if I posted this but I tried applying for a postal swab test recently (I am a key worker) but the website kept saying “file not found”. I wanted a negative swab do I could use the green areas if I have to go to Hospital again. Load of rubbish.

longshot · 18/05/2020 18:29

Hi all,

I haven't posted for at least a week I don't think.

Day 68 here. I am OK. I am not yet recovered but over the last 14 days have improved a lot. I don't really have any of the 'old' symptoms anymore but am left with on/off fatigue (pretty bad at times), some muscle ache and chest pain at times (SOB reduced massively now) and a bit of a sore throat from time to time if I talk a lot. That's it. I would say most days I am now 6 or 7/10 towards my 'normal self'.

It's not great but I am managing. Most days I am homeschooling the kids (with help from DH), doing house jobs, baking and cooking, working 1-2 hours a day, walking 5-6000 steps, doing a bit of yoga. This is literally all i can manage. Some days I feel good and quite like my normal self and do more. Some days I am tired and need to rest more but usually when i do I feel Ok again. I am probably actually 'resting' 2-3 hours of my day and obviously sleep at night. I cannot do any exercise other than stroll and yoga. No big walks, jogs, weights etc!

I just wanted to offer some hope if it can be called that. I am assuming this will take me at least 3-4 months to get over fully now. I eat well, i rest a lot and I keep moving gently as much as I can manage without pushing myself. I also meditate when I remember!

Good luck to you all [Flowers]

hollieberrie · 18/05/2020 18:39

@Norugratsatall Thanks for the support re: ears. Pretty sure its blocked tubes, its been 6 weeks now and i'm so worried they wont go back to normal, but apparently it can last months?! Is that your experience? Hope the ibuprofen is helping your tinnitus.

@Linus1972 sorry to hear that your recovery is going so slowly and that your BP hasnt lowered much. It sucks. I have a family history of fatal untreated high bp so think that's why my GP is pushing for me to really get it to a decent level. I hate taking meds though.
How are you getting on with the Rampiril, any side effects? Are you on 1.25mg? I was on that, now up to 2.5mg. I'm really not feeling great but not sure if that's the Ramipril, my ears or just remaining Covid symptoms!

hollieberrie · 18/05/2020 18:40

@Egghead68 i couldnt get the online postal test ordering to work either! I called them up and they ordered it for me over the phone, although it hasnt arrived yet. It was very easy, so you could try that?

SimpleKindofLife · 18/05/2020 18:43

That's good to hear @longshot! Hopefully not too much longer for a full recovery for you.

I wanted a negative swab do I could use the green areas if I have to go to Hospital again.

@Egghead68 that's a good point...

Moodgie · 18/05/2020 18:46

@longshot So great to hear. You’ve given me some hope and I really need it today.

starlilly88 · 18/05/2020 18:59

I first had symptoms end of March and lasted about 4 weeks. Then I was fine for a couple of weeks. I had strange sinus dryness/pain during the illness and this has come back again, usually every evening! Anyone had anything similar? It's not sinusitis as I've had that before and nose is completely clear. Worried it's never going to go and am I still contagious? The sinus pain first appeared when I lost taste and smell but that's all fine now

Norugratsatall · 18/05/2020 19:27

@Needsomegoodnews I'm not going to bother as it won't show up as +VE this far on. I will wait for the antibody test I think.

Welcome to the new people! But sorry you're in a position where you need the services of a thread like this!

Norugratsatall · 18/05/2020 19:32

@hollieberrie. Sorry to hear you're still suffering with your blocked ears! Is it Covid related or did you have these symptoms before? I've had blocked ears since January following several nasty heavy colds last year. I was given a steroid nasal spray for it in Feb which was working a treat! Then I got Covid and all my old symptoms came back. So was prescribed another stronger steroid drops into the nose. I feel sure that's down the trick and my tubes are clear now - any pain/tinnitus in my ears now is due to Covid inflammation. I think! Who knows?! As no one's actually examined me it's all been done over the phone. It's miserable though I'll give you that, so I hope you shift it soon.

Moominmamma33 · 18/05/2020 20:00

@godhelpusall that's great news from your doctor, sounds like he really knows what he's talking about. The explanation sounds quite reassuring, doesn't it? Did he explain any more about the overreacting to proteins thing - wondering if it's affected at all by diet (ie if we could control the flares?)

@starlilly88 Hi, I had sinus pain at the start of all this amongst all the other symptoms, but haven't noticed much since but I think anything is possible with this. Poor you, sounds nasty. Sinus stuff often takes a while to shift normally even from the common cold.

@longshot It's brilliant you're feeling ok! There is hope! Star

Egghead68 · 18/05/2020 20:08

Thanks @hollieberrie that’s a really good tip.

@longshot so great to hear you are feeling much better.

MummyPop00 · 18/05/2020 20:10

Re: ears, that’s something I’ve had flare up since contracting Covid, came on about week 2 or 3. I’ve got Eustachian Tube Dysfunction generally - I always have to sniff Sudafed spray on long haul flights.

Bit surprised I’ve got it now though as one Covid symptom I haven’t had is nasal congestion Confused

starlilly88 · 18/05/2020 20:13

My DD also had same symptoms as me at the same time, better for 2 weeks, now she's tired again and headaches, sore throat, glands are up. Don't think it's a new illness as she's not been out, unless she's got something from the original virus. Doctor just blindly prescribed her antibiotics over the phone. Or is it still Covid symptoms? Just want it to go away as I'm very worried about her 😞

SANDY2016 · 18/05/2020 20:49

The amount of people experienceing this for long periods of time is worrying I do have to say though after two weeks in hospital in intensive care I was moved to recover and given another test that came back negative but although I didn't have phenomena to the degree I had with my worst point in ICU I still had symptoms of feeling really tied lack of senses and still do two weeks later told is just recovery and may take 6to8weeks

Moominmamma33 · 18/05/2020 20:54

Sky News had a discussion with Paul Garner about this stuff this eve around 6.30. it's on YouTube I think.

godhelpusall · 18/05/2020 21:23

What did he say? Can anyone link?

Moominmamma33 · 18/05/2020 22:00

Found it now - wind back til it would be 18.30ish. I've only seen a snippet but it was interesting. Says it's all about inflammation. A lady on there with him (didn't catch her name) mentioned kidney pain, which I am experiencing too. They both said they aren't worried it will become chronic. That's reassuring at least.

LetsBeSensible · 18/05/2020 22:18

@moominmamma33 it won’t let me go back? I put Sky on but Trump has been announcing he’s taking the malaria drug hydroxycholoroquine so that has taken over...

godhelpusall · 19/05/2020 08:04

How are we all?

Moodgie · 19/05/2020 08:40

@godhelpusall Morning nausea and toilet rush as usual. How are you?

Moominmamma33 · 19/05/2020 08:57

@Letsbesensible sorry the link didn't work, not sure why it won't. @godhelpusall I'm pretty shocking this morning sadly, woke up with a temp and it's usually ok in mornings. Feel very fatigued and have an aching back. How are you?

Mamabem · 19/05/2020 09:01

Morning all! Everything crossed that you're out jogging and so don't see this...! If not, still hoping it's soon.

So, a weird thing. Every day, my hopes are raised that my temp has gone down. Every day, my temp goes down late at night and overnight and into the morning and then goes back up mid-morning until late. Anyone else?

Egghead68 · 19/05/2020 09:19

Morning! Day 59/60. I feel tired from (very gentle beginners’) Pilates yesterday and walking a mile today but otherwise ok (apart from the usual chest pain and high heart rate). I think it’s going to be a couple of months before I’m out jogging!!

Sorry you are having a bad morning @Moominmamma33.

@Mamabem I am not sure but I seem to remember reading that it is normal for temperature to fluctuate during the day.
