New thread,

I won't be a very good host as I tend to dip in and out of these things but have filled up the last thread. (Sorry)

Day 58 here! The last couple of days I've been feeling a bit better. There was no runny tummy this morning and not as much stomach and lung pain. My energy seems to have increased and I managed a short walk yesterday and today.
Before this illness, I was fit and healthy, at the gym 2, 3 times a week. After the short walks I am breathless and have to lie down. My head also feels fuzzy with a burning feeling at the back. I realise I've still got a long way to go but I'm going to try and walk everyday and hopefully things will improve.

@Deano1649 I've also had terrible gastric problems for the past 2 months. I've also had bad lung pains which I wanted to take Ibruprofen for. My GP advised against Ibruprofen as she said it can irritate the stomach and make gastric problems worse. I've been eating bland foods like banana, potatoes, oats, chicken, bread, carrots and cut out all spicy foods, foods with sugar like cakes, biscuits, crisps, citrus fruits, broccoli, cauliflower, dairy. The new diet seems to be making a difference, my stomach doesn't seem as irritated, it's less gassy, less painful and diarrhoea seems to be resolving. I've also been taking a VITAMIN D supplement everyday. Oh and drinking plenty of water.

My mid-back, where my ribs end is killing me. Random intermittent stabbing pains on each side. And god the aching. Feels like I’ve been kicked in the back repeatedly

LetsBeSensible · 17/05/2020 01:02

Skin complaints like blisters and flaky skin etc can be caused by ill health, basically if your immune system is under strain it can throw out weird things. I broke out in eczema years ago after bad flu. I’ve had a few eczema flare ups during these past weeks. I also get flaky scalp, and hair loss (yay) I’m not saying just ignore it, but keep in mind that these kind of things can come after any virus.

pinkoneblueone · 17/05/2020 02:41

I need up going a&e for fear I have Kawasaki disease it's day 70 now. I've been put in the red zone and swabbed. I am terrified I will get sick again as people are coughing around me and the man next to me didn't have his mask on properly.

pinkoneblueone · 17/05/2020 02:42

I had tonnes of spots on my head lots of swollen glands in my neck and head and a tender spot on my head, had blood tests ecg and a swab.

@LetsBeSensible wish i'd seen your comment before coming here now

Back home after being tested and swabbed bathed and taken Vitamin c and sniffed iodine to try and prevent reinfection. I really really don't want to be sick again. See video below if you are interested in giving it a try

This was on the previous advice of @stayathomegardiner thank you again!

For me being 10 weeks down the line put in the red zone I was terrified more of reinfection as on a previous visit I was in the green zone. As my lungs were feeling odd the Triage nurse said I should be in red as I have a cough too. I was very anxious and have caused my self chest and back pain from being so tense. I am going to go and try to sleep for a bit and hope to stay well.

@pinkoneblueone sorry you ended up going to A&E and that it was so stressful. I was put in the amber zone in A&E last week even though I pleaded with them that at 50 days I couldn’t be infectious. The elderly man next to me was coughing constantly and took his mask off! I felt safer in the red zone I had been in the time before (individual bays).

Thanks @LetsBeSensible - makes sense.

Hope everyone has an OK day.

musicposy · 17/05/2020 08:29

Sorry you ended up back in A and E, @pinkoneblueone. Why would they put you in red zone after 10 weeks, that’s mad.

Day 68 ish here, in a bit of a dip at the moment. I’m working part time from home (very part time; around 3-4 hours four days a week) and that’s taking all my resources I think. Nothing left for anything else. I’m desperate to feel well again!

godhelpusall · 17/05/2020 08:35

@musicposy I'm similar to you I think. I'm finding work too much. What symptoms do you have?

LetsBeSensible · 17/05/2020 09:37

@pinkoneblueone sorry I wasn’t up last night! If you felt you needed to see a HCP then it’s just as well you did. No good getting medical advice off a stranger on the Internet!
I think I’m at Day 60 now. Am thrilled that my sleep pattern is slowly changing a bit back to “normal” hours.
Yesterday I really was a bit breathless, first time in ages. Was a bit annoyed as I had an interaction with someone who has become “that” friend - totally unable to accept I’m still unwell and there’s no medical advice (if I sometimes wish they get it, and as bad as me, that doesn’t make me evil does it?)

Needsomegoodnews · 17/05/2020 09:48

@pinkoneblueone sorry you had such a rough night. Were they reassuring in A&E? Hope you’ve managed to get some rest.

Needsomegoodnews · 17/05/2020 09:54

Thanks @Valsemove for sharing that video - very useful and fits with what I’ve been thinking from the ups and downs. I just hope it stops completely soon!

Over 60 days now and fluctuating chest pain, shortness of breath and racing heart. On the plus side I’ve had good energy levels the past couple of days, have been able to do more and symptoms not too bad - however temp still coming up to 37.8 so I’ve no idea what to think! @user34254356 I think you’ve had similar temp issues?

powkin · 17/05/2020 10:03

No idea if I’ve had covid. I was taken to hospital by ambulance in January for insane temperature and high HR/tachycardia/low BP. Obviously no one was thinking about it back then. They thought it might be sepsis or gall bladder (had some abdominal pain). Could barely move I was so exhausted for 2-3 days. They pumped me full of IV antibiotics. The next 3 days I had horrendous diarrhoea. After that I’ve had dry cough, cold like symptoms, blistered sore throat that went on for 2 weeks. That’s only just gone. Anyway...

When they did my bloods my inflammation (ESR) rates were really high. They just shrugged it off after my temp went down. I have some chronic health issues and that can cause it, as can fighting off infection. Long story short I started taking high EPA cod liver oil as there’s some evidence it might help. When I kept forgetting to take it I swear I felt worse so now I’m taking it every day. I read a scientific journal article that showed a man that ‘recovered’ continued to have very high ESR readings so figure maybe there’s something in it.

Not going to post a brand as Dont want anyone to think I’m some weird crackpot selling something, and I don’t know that I’ve even had it, but it cannot hurt to try. I’m usually very skeptical but do have two science degrees and have tried to do some scientific research. The evidence is thin but it’s not harmful to try. It’s the EPA in cod liver oil rather than the DHA so get one high in that (harder to find in veggie/vegan alternatives). Anyway, if it helps someone it helps someone.

Porcupineinwaiting · 17/05/2020 10:04

@LetsBeSensible I feel that was about quite a few people, mostly those who are still in the "it's just flu" brigade. I am not a good person sometimes.

@pinkoneblueone I'm glad you sought medical assistance/advice if you needed it. We shouldn't be afraid to do that.

I have a reoccurring fantasy about going to our main hospital, cornering doctor and insist s/he explains what is happening to me (or ideally cures me, but in the absence of that I'd just like to understand.

godhelpusall · 17/05/2020 10:08

Thanks @powkin . I might as well add it to the growing list of vitamins 😂. How long were you ill for?

godhelpusall · 17/05/2020 10:13

@Porcupineinwaiting I also have that fantasy! That someone will have an answer that makes sense.

powkin · 17/05/2020 10:37

@godhelpusall - I honestly don’t know! Feel like I’ve been up and down since January. I actually had really bad back pain when I was in hospital which could explain things. After the intial 4-5 days I actually felt pretty well then seemed to crash again then since January Ive had fatigue, a dry cough that went on forever, a cold, a sore throat that lasted 2 weeks, lots of emotional ups and downs, but then I’ve been looking after a 14.5kg (now) 15 month old in lockdown so that could explain quite a bit now! And all these things could be winter stuff and I just had some random gastric issue in jan (but had zero symptoms other than the crazy fever (39C+) and a bit of abdominal pain when I went into hospital). I live in London on a bus route from an airport and took the central line and district 3 days a week so not inconceivable.

Egghead68 · 17/05/2020 10:55

Sorry it’s behind a paywall. I can’t read It either. Good that the word is being spread further though.

Moodgie · 17/05/2020 11:00

I’ve copied the title of the article into google and it comes up. @egghead68

Norugratsatall · 17/05/2020 11:13

Interesting vid @Valsemove - thank you for posting.

How is everyone this morning? I hope you all have a better day. Sorry to hear you've been to A&E again @pinkoneblueone. How frightening for you.

To the poster who mentioned face freezing (muscular) sorry I've scrolled back but can't see who it was.... I've had similar in my arm. Have spoken to my physio about it now and she's given me some exercises to do...

I've had another relapse..... was just starting to feel like I'd turned yet another 'corner' again too.... bitnhad severe aches and pains chest pains and fatigue yesterday and then awful awful screaming tinnitus again overnight. I feel wiped out emotionally. It's so hard to keep struggling on. DH and DD2 have stopped asking me how I am. 😞

Egghead68 · 17/05/2020 11:28

Thanks @Moodgie. Read it now. Interesting that they are speculating about a link with underlying long-term conditions.
