NO. NO NO

We are still in lockdown. Read the script

Flythedragons · 10/05/2020 21:24

No

DuaneDibbley · 10/05/2020 21:26

Second home owners are still unwelcome in Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, New Forest, Isle of Wight, Lake District, Peak District, the whole of Scotland & Wales. Clear enough?

Off to the East Coast then!

SistemaAddict · 10/05/2020 21:28

"Unlimited exercise you can drive to" so could drive to exercise in the area and then stay the night there.

Stay the night because you've travelled there to exercise?! You couldn't make this shit up!

Harrykanesrightsock · 10/05/2020 21:29

Go to work if you can or stay at home. FFS

Hoghgyni · 10/05/2020 21:30

Duane fine by us. The more the merrier!

JintyB · 10/05/2020 21:32

Maybe people need to check up on their property - it's a frequent clause in insurance policies that they are not valid if the property is left empty for an extended period

amymel2016 · 10/05/2020 21:37

Obviously not OP! Crikey! What happens if you broke down on the way or had an accident? Both would require other people to get involved, what if you needed hospital treatment there? I’m assuming it’s somewhere rural that’s likely to have a small hospital?

JUST STAY AT HOME - it’s not difficult!!

Unravellingslowly · 10/05/2020 21:38

so could drive to exercise in the area and then stay the night there

So then you are driving to stay in your second home, not to exercise.
No matter how many ways you want to twist it so that the rules don’t apply to you YWBVVU to go to your second home.

Lonelykettleshed · 10/05/2020 21:43

What is one of you is positive for C-19, even if asymptomatic - you risk passing it to an area that may have a low infection rate. What if you have to go to hospital, probably in an area with fewer ICU beds? What if you need food, supermarkets cater to the population?

Really depends if you want to act for the greater population (stay where you are) or in self interest.

Hoghgyni · 10/05/2020 21:43

From the Radio Cornwall FB page: Perhaps if we know of a 2nd home, we should plaster it in "stay away from here" posters, so if they do arrive they understand how unwelcome they are.

Crickets · 10/05/2020 21:45

No

StoutDrinker2019 · 10/05/2020 21:48

The gov have decided it is our individual responsibility to do what we see fit. Millions more people on the roads from tomorrow. People will do what they want. Either until a) we get lockdown again or b) we somehow reach herd immunity. Congrats to all who voted Conservative as you got what you wanted. Economy before people. Every fruckin time.

wheresmymojo · 10/05/2020 21:50

Seriously, people are being absolute knobbers on here tonight aren't they?

OP - clearly you're not enjoying lockdown but you cannot stretch the rules of being allowed out for unlimited exercise and to drive to exercise to move to your second home, no.

wheresmymojo · 10/05/2020 21:51

I'm no Boris fan but seriously - no they haven't.

They gave some very limited easing of lockdown.

The problem isn't Boris this time it's that people have turned into utter knobbers who can't follow the most basic of advice and are determined to find a way they can break the rules and pretend it's okay.

Ohdeariedear · 10/05/2020 21:52

I just want to go and check all is well at mine - drive there 30 mins to check all is well then drive back, see no-one. We didn’t get a chance to really close it up properly for a prolonged period.

TheoneandObi · 10/05/2020 21:52

Errrrr no!

mummydoris2006 · 10/05/2020 21:53

Please stay away from the East Coast, there aren't enough services for people that live here all the time. There is also a high ratio of elderly people living here. My mum hasn't left her house since the week before lockdown and still contracted the virus and is very poorly. Maybe if people saw first hand what it does they would stay in there permanent home.

mummydoris2006 · 10/05/2020 21:53

*their

MitziK · 10/05/2020 21:53

Exercise =/= driving 180 miles to the holiday home, walking round the block and then staying inside (until the following day when somebody inevitably realises you forgot to pack cornflakes and you trot off to the local shop expecting to be happily welcomed).

Ohdeariedear · 10/05/2020 21:54

But we won’t.....until we are allowed (scotland here)

Charliecatpaws · 10/05/2020 21:54

If your from England please stay away from Wales - we are still closed, thank you

RaininSummer · 10/05/2020 22:04

So many bloody idiots posting this evening.

StoutDrinker2019 · 10/05/2020 22:05

The police have no mandate to stop people on roads anymore as millions more travelling as of tomorrow. Ergo you can do what the f you like, if you choose to that is. I'm not condoning it I'm merely stating fact. Some people will stay home. Many now won't.

Not if you need to fly to France.
