Oh I'm 42 as well..never missed a period in my life except when pg which I'm not as I've done a test

thetruthisout · 10/05/2020 22:16

I'm 7 days late too! Usually very regular and have taken a pregnancy test which was negative. I did wonder if it was something to do with the lockdown situation but I haven't felt particularly stressed by it all. Maybe it is though🤔

SMJYellow · 10/05/2020 22:20

I was out for a walk earlier and I felt the tummy twinges that I usually get and also I have a sore breast too that sometimes comes. I do think it's coming but it's still not here.

CrocodileFrock · 10/05/2020 22:21

Mine went AWOL when the lockdown started in March.

Still nothing in April.

I even tried a pregnancy test just in case (thankfully negative).

And today it's finally arrived. Hallelujah!

atgnat · 10/05/2020 23:48

I'm normally fairly regular, 28-32 days and usually if they're deviating from that it's because they're longer. But my previous cycle (April) was only 25 days. This cycle, I've had spotting since day 21 and it's now day 32 and I've had the spotting almost every day. I've also had on and off PMS symptoms and cramping, but no flow. Spotting up to six days before my period is normal for me but I've never had anything like this before.

I think I had coronavirus in March, about 11 days before my period, and I had a normal period that month, but my shortened cycle was the first one after three weeks of what could have been corona.

Hoping it comes soon. I've tested and not pregnant. Feel like I'm going crazy and can't stop thinking about when it will come, because I can't stand another day worrying about the spotting.

ghostmous3 · 11/05/2020 16:27

I've just come on. Normal symptoms but very light. And a week or so late.

How weird

StrawberryJam200 · 12/05/2020 23:21

Be interesting to know if pregnancy tests are the new thing flying off the shelves.....

I'm excited as I think I may be ovulating at last, woo hoo! Time will tell.

LakeFlyPie · 12/05/2020 23:32

I had last period during confirmed Covid infection nearly 5 weeks ago. Still waiting for next one, usually 28 day cycle. V strange.

SMJYellow · 13/05/2020 10:17

I'm gone into day 52 with my cycle. I was out walking on Sunday and I developed tummy cramps and in the evening I had sore boobs too. It really felt like my period was going to arrive but that no, that hasn't happened. I get tummy cramps around about ovulation time so taking a two week time frame that will bring me up to May the 24th for the possibility of a period arriving.

StrawberryJam200 · 13/05/2020 11:14

Read this thread too!

Hot night flushes have suddenly disappeared...anyone else? www.mumsnet.com/Talk/menopause/3899970-Hot-night-flushes-have-suddenly-disappeared-anyone-else

Bawdrip · 13/05/2020 17:19

So relieved and interested to find this thread. I has a really light and short period this month and now, on day 9 of my cycle I'm getting spotting/ start if a light period. Normally regular 28 days no problems. I seem to be starting a second wave of covid symptoms that I thought had gone for 2 or 3 weeks. Glad it's prob a virus symptom and not something else

Laiste · 13/05/2020 17:26

UPDATE post here. I posted on this thread on the 3rd May to say i was 2 weeks late last time (at the beginning of lockdown). My period was due again on the 5th.

No sign of it! So i'm now .... 8 days late again and counting.

makewaymakeway · 13/05/2020 17:33

YES!!!

I'm having a really late ovulation period which is ridiculously painful and then a week later having my actual period. Usually it's every 4 weeks like clock work, the whole thing has been taking just over 5 weeks.

My mood is also HORRENDOUS a couple of days before my period too. Full on depressive and really finding it hard to do things and even talk.

When the period is here it's been really heavy with super bloat.

Sunnyhopefulness · 13/05/2020 17:39

Opposite herE - I thought I was nearly done having periods as I’ve had long cycles lately - but now had 3 very short ones

SeasonallySnowyPeasant · 13/05/2020 17:42

Yep, I’ve been on since 2 weeks before lockdown. I’ve had a couple of days with just spotting but other than that it’s been pretty steady.

17CherryTreeLane · 13/05/2020 17:51

I'm usually like clockwork, every 28 days, and there are always horrendously heavy. This time it was a week late and was only a few spots of dark brown blood over 2 days. Weird!

LittleRen · 13/05/2020 22:39

Last month I ovulated a week late and this month I started my period Monday and it’s so light. Wtf is going on. Is this stress? I may have had Covid in March but was never sure... I was rough with it for a month though.

ghostmous3 · 20/05/2020 22:11

Well my period was light and I'm still bleeding on day 10. Never ever happened before.imngetting worried now

Wetdogloveshubert · 27/05/2020 23:55

Posting to sticky this thread and report my own late period. C-19 late March, shorter than usual period after, and now I'm nearly 2 weeks late. Work stress has been horrendous, and I haven't been exercising, so they may have knocked it too of course.

LakeFlyPie · 28/05/2020 00:03

Mine finally arrived, 2.5 weeks late (which is unheard of), first since Covid infection over Easter.
Interesting comments about exercise, I usually go to gym classes most days and am just walking with the occasional home workout since lockdown.
Will see what next cycle brings

Aragog · 28/05/2020 09:36

Last one was very late. Then it's not been pleasant - heavier than normal (normally vvv light) and even more cramps and pain - the cramps started on and off from the date it was due, to when it started about 18 days later, and continuing on and off throughout. One before was a few days later but very light.

Have had more stress than normal - we've dealt with two deaths during lockdown - but stress hasn't changed my cycle before.

Probably been a fair less active. Although we go for a walk every few days I am sat at a desk most of the day at present, hunched over a computer. I'm normally stood up wandering around a classroom all day with little sitting down time.

WhatILoved · 30/05/2020 08:04

Mine is 10 days late. Took a pregnancy test 3 days ago. Negative (thank god). Today terrible cramps and sore boobs. I'm getting paranoid it was a false negative . I hope it comes soon

BingsDracSula · 03/06/2020 11:41

Hi, I just wanted to wake this thread up, is there anyone still waiting for their period to arrive?
I had a period on 6th march. Had covid symptoms at the end of March and haven't seen period since. Could be VERY sudden onset of menopause - I turned 46 last month. I've even had panics about a miraculous pregnancy - it would be lovely, but impossible (I've had both fallopian tubes removed and my husband has had snip!).
I do wonder about the connection with covid????

florababy84 · 05/06/2020 12:36

Still waiting. My last period was early April.

I wish it would just come!

Therollockingrogue · 05/06/2020 12:55

I’m super interested to hear about how women’s cycles have been affected if they recovered from covid 19. Last year after a trip abroad I became extremely ill with what I assume now was covid 19. I had the loss of taste, severe breathlessness, unreal cough etc etc. Then also developed a weird rash. (V similar to the Kawasaki type rash we see now in kids) The biggest remaining symptom was that my periods became unmanageable, and the breathlessness on the days before menstruation was so extreme I couldn’t even finish a sentence . This remained for 6months and then diminished. In this time I had numerous gp appointments, x rays, gynaecological investigations, ecgs and so on. But the truth was that nobody had a clue what was the matter. Every single time I’d mention to a gp that I couldn’t breathe in the days before my period they just dismissed it and only reluctantly agreed to refer me for tests after I burst into tears in the walk in surgery, having been unable to work for one week a month for six months. By that point I was having to take four hour long afternoon naps due to the exhaustion, And I could barely manage the school run (5 minutes away).
I’ve heard lots of women’s cycles have been affected by the new routines as well as the virus though.
