Has the last 5-6 weeks affected your cycle ?

I thought I'd started the menopause at 46. Which may be I have. I haven't had a period since before lock down either.

With the addition of hot flushes I thought I'd never have a period again. But having read that I'm not alone in this ... maybe I am due another one.

Merlotmum85 · 03/05/2020 23:00

Yes I was over a week late and heavier than normal. Put it down to stress

Outdoorsybynature · 03/05/2020 23:00

First period in 14 months started today (dc is 15 months old)

sleepwhenidie · 03/05/2020 23:13

@stayathomegardener I think i had virus symptoms for 5 weeks+, mostly mild. Terrible night sweats and flushes and horrible headache, came on suddenly then eased off in 2/3rd week and then I got a sore throat, body aches, sore eyes and at the same time lost my sense of taste and smell completely, took over 2 weeks to return though I only felt ill for a few days. No cough or temperature. Night sweats seem to have stopped completely the last couple of weeks, still no period though! Keep us updated!

Mikki2019 · 03/05/2020 23:15

@stayathomegardener ah I had suspected cv mid March, which was just before my first weirdly late period . Plus I have been an absolute emotional wreck. I put it down to missing my partner and the weird situ or maybe my age ! Perhaps it’s all of them !

I had a verbena year period, painful, so painful I was nauseous. I take hrt, so thought it was related to being peri, ha slots of night sweats, very irritable. I actually thought there was something wrong with my hrt and that I'd got a dodgy batch. Now just finished a heavy period again, less heavy than the last one and almost back to normal now, but Ive been irritable and teary.

whynotchangemore · 04/05/2020 00:45

So strange, I've had a massive flare up of endo pains, Which are hormone linked, worse I've ever had.

POP7777777 · 04/05/2020 00:49

Always 30 days. This month I've had two periods. Worried.

tigerbear · 04/05/2020 00:50

Same! Was wondering about this too.
My period was about 2 weeks late, and really short. Very heavy bleeding on first day, small amount the second, and now gone already on the third day!

SMJYellow · 04/05/2020 01:02

Same here. My cycle is usually 28/29 days. Sometimes it can be longer at times of stress. Like two years ago. Over the past year my cycle settled.

My period in March was late. I didn't have any period in April. I'm now gone into 44 days of a cycle. I do think I will be getting my period this week because I had that sticky cervical fluid the week before last.

I'm definitely not pregnant. My relationship is sexless. I did not have any flu or cold symptoms so I don't think I had the virus unless if I was asymptomatic. It's doubtful though because none of my family or work has been sick with flu like symptoms. I'm 37.

RedLentilYellowLentil · 04/05/2020 01:04

Hmm, other way round for me. I thought I was menopausal tbh, in fact I offered a huge Brexit stash of sanpro to someone on the preppers thread! Then I pulled the kids out of school on 16 March and two days later had my first period in six months. Then another one regular as clockwork in mid-April. It remains to be seen what May brings. Weird...

Hmmmmminteresting · 04/05/2020 01:15

4 weeks ago I totally missed my period. That never ever happens! Ever! I've come on today as normal. I did wonder if it was stress of the pandemic related. But I didnt feel overly stressed.

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 04/05/2020 02:53

I've had one in the last 8 weeks which is odd as they are usually every 2 weeks

duffeldaisy · 04/05/2020 03:17

Mine have always been really regular. The last one was I think 3 weeks late and lighter than normal. I assumed it was peri-menopause hitting in, but reading threads on this maybe it was stress.

Weird thing is I often have bouts of anxiety. It’s like this has made me anxious on a deeper level. 🙁

BooseysMom · 04/05/2020 03:27

Yes me too re. anxiety. I'm wide awake with a hot water bottle on my stomach as i've got sudden bad cramps but AF not due for a week or so. I'm 48 and def peri-menopausal. I get this weird pain for weeks now and the last AF was evil. Maybe it's stress from this virus.

Flippetyflipok · 04/05/2020 03:36

Sadly not for me. Periods about the same. Cv + period = not fun! Found it hard to tell difference between period temp wonkiness and night sweats and cv fevers :(. Also didn't take ibuprofen vs period pains. I still have some cv symptoms (day 40) and just starting another bastard period.

Flippetyflipok · 04/05/2020 03:39

... And I worried more about low immune system and risk of toxic shock / infection. I do use a moon cup which I think is safer but that worry wasn't great, specially given the crapness of the medical establishment to gather data about women's health.

Would be just my luck to survive cv then die of a bastard period!

stayathomegardener · 04/05/2020 08:17

@Casino218 @Lightsabre @longshot @musicposy @Lovelesslily @pinkoneblueone @TheDrsWife46
This is interesting.

Casino218 · 04/05/2020 08:19

Yes I've missed a cycle this month and I'm on HRT so it's usually well controlled. Odd.

longshot · 04/05/2020 09:55

Interesting! I have adenymosis and definitely made or flare up. Well CV or the antibiotics I took I can’t be sure. I’m 8 weeks in so have had two periods, one lighter and shorter than usual for me (but normal) and one ridiculously heavy, nearly went to A&E but under control now. Definitely messed with my body!

Mikki2019 · 05/05/2020 08:58

This is strange - still nothing !

I don't have a period yet. My last period was late. It was due for about the 7th or the 8 of March. It was March the 23rd by the time it showed up. Nothing sense then. I haven't been majorly stressed or worried and my schedule isn't too up in the air. Some changes alright but nothing major. No period since then. Its now at 42 days since the start of my last period.

This hasn't happened to me before. I've had some flauctions before but never this long and I can usually trace it back to stress. I haven't been majorly stressed. I haven't been sick so no virus here.

Iamblossom · 05/05/2020 14:42

Well I am on Day 9 of my first period in over a decade Hmm

Was on depo and now implant and don't normally have one at all. Have used all of the tampons in a dusty old box I found in the bathroom cabinet and have just bought more and they have completely changed, different wrapping and applicator etc, that's how long since I have had to buy any...

All very weird.

EightToSixer · 05/05/2020 15:00

I am always regular enough 3-4 weeks. I had a 6 week gap before my last one on 6th March. (Never home longer than 4 weeks before) and then nothing since then, so about 8 weeks now. I had what I suspect was Covid (but mild) starting the week of my last period.
Could be menopausal as I’m 45 but I’m not sure. I actually feel much less stressed in lockdown than I have at any other point in the year weirdly so don’t think It’s stress.

SMJYellow · 08/05/2020 12:09

Anybody still waiting for their period to show up?

My last period was on the 22nd or the 23rd of March and nothing sense then. My schedule isn't completely up in the air. I'm not overly stressed or worried. I'm a little cautious but that's it. I wasn't sick so more than likely I didn't have the virus. I read about people being asymptomatic. Iceland gave some surprising results but I rea9dont think I was asymptomatic at all beca8my family were not sick either. They had some heavy colds over the winter but that was it. I work in a private capacity and even they weren't sick. Highly unlikely I had the virus.
