Yep, still waiting. 88 days late Shock

Dk20 · 08/05/2020 13:01

Oh me too, pretty sure we have the virus in early - mid Feb. Also had period at that time. Usually would be in or around 28 days between periods, but after the sickness it stretched to 2 months, had nothing in March, then came on again on 9th April. Back to normal now though, have started again this morning so seems to be back to normal.

Mikki2019 · 08/05/2020 13:44

Huzzah, mine came , 9 days late !

I'm using the Corona daily symptons tracking app and for the 1st time today, it asked a lot of additional questions about when my last period was, if my periods have currently stopped and whether I am using any homone treatment.

Maybe this has been recognised as a common trend and they are now trying to do a bit more research on it.

MorbidMuch · 08/05/2020 14:07

How strange! I've just come on today after missing out the whole of April. My cycle is normally 23-25 days. According to my Fitbit, this cycle has been 49 days long! I'm in my mid-30s.

I was initially pretty stressed for the first two weeks of lockdown, but been fairly chilled since then.

StrawberryJam200 · 08/05/2020 14:21

I use the symptom tracker app too, they emailed me/everyone a couple of days ago saying they were going to start asking about hormones etc as this was an area of research. I took it to mean about gender differences re severity or disease rather than it messing up menstruation.

I did post a link to an article much earlier in this thread that recognised that people's periods seem affected at the moment, but possibly anxiety rather than direct effect of the virus.

Casino218 · 08/05/2020 16:45

They are now asking questions related to menstruation on the Covid tracker so it could be it's the virus.

StrawberryJam200 · 08/05/2020 17:46

If the symptom tracker app has emailed users saying:

We have been asked by NHS England if we can help them to understand why men are more at risk from COVID than women.

  • particularly the role of oestrogen. So not to do with periods as such, although perhaps there is some link??
StrawberryJam200 · 08/05/2020 17:46

Sorry that "If" shouldn't have been in my last post

HerRoyalCarbyLess · 08/05/2020 17:51

Hmm. Im 3 days late at the moment. Usually 28 days Bob on, bleed for 7 days.
But now I'm 3 days late. Definitely not pregnant. (Need to have sex for that!)
I thought it was.odd but maybe there's something in this?

Callimanco · 08/05/2020 18:17

Interesting. I had possible CV mid March and subsequent period was 2 weeks late. I am definitely in Peri though and put it down to that. Only the second time I've ever been late (and not pregnant)!

marlboroughlemon · 08/05/2020 18:30

I was really ill with covid symptoms (not tested) - loss of sense of smell, difficulty breathing, headache, cough for 6 days and on Day 7 got my period and instantaneously all symptoms stopped (to be replaced by usual poisonous prostaglandin headache).

SpicedCamomile · 08/05/2020 18:35

Yep. April period was about 10 days late, I was about to buy a pregnancy test then it arrived. May one due Sunday, so we shall see. No Covid symptoms, haven't felt majorly stressed. I missed eight months worth of periods when I started my first job after university , and moved into my first flat so I know change of routine and stress can affect my cycle.

AgentCooper · 08/05/2020 20:07

Yes. Very light here and the most horrible anxiety and depression which I feel I’m coming out of tentatively. Period ended on Wednesday. Though my 2 year old is breastfeeding like a newborn so that’s probably contributing.

Biscuitsneeded · 08/05/2020 21:39

I haven't had a period since 26 Feb. Am just 48 and they had been getting closer together, but suddenly have missed two cycles which has never happened in my life. Could possibly be stress but I don't feel especially stressed and in fact would say I am more stressed when everyone is tearing around doing 'normal' life! I thought it was very sudden onset menopause as have bee n very hot at night too, but maybe I'm lucky and have had Covid 19 without even knowing!

confusedandtired99 · 08/05/2020 21:40

Oddly if anything mines been slightly early and more regular

Realitea · 08/05/2020 21:42

A week late here. Really strange. I still have all the cramps, headaches and moodiness/crying at everything though!

Mikki2019 · 08/05/2020 21:57

Gosh this is weird !!! I had two late periods since I had suspected cv in last week of March .. Confused

Placemarking.

Though my 2 year old is breastfeeding like a newborn so that’s probably contributing.

Ditto. Solidarity.

PrimalLass · 10/05/2020 10:47

I've had mild but prolonged covid symptoms (since mid March). My periods now seem to be every 3 weeks.

hopelessatthinkingupusernames · 10/05/2020 11:00

My last period was really late - I think it ended up being a 50 day cycle. Haven’t had any Covid symptoms so I put it down to stress but interesting that so many others have had this too

eitak22 · 10/05/2020 11:01

Yeah my cycle is late and there's no sign of it coming soon. Think it's the stress of the situation.

SMJYellow · 10/05/2020 11:33

I still don't have a period which definitely should be here by now.

I was due a period for about the 8th or 9th or the 10th of March but it was late and showed up about the 23rd of March. Nothing since then.

I don't feel overly stressed or worried. I'm following the guidelines, minimising the public, avoiding crowds. I'm cautious but that's about it. No period at all.

I'm 37. I presume it's not menopause. I don't live with my partner so we haven't seen each other since the lockdown began and our relationship was sexless before that. So I'm definitely not pregnant.

sovielverloren · 10/05/2020 13:32

Just found this - similar tale. I had a period on 4 Feb and then.....nothing until 10 April. I am 49 so rolled with it, but am now starting to wonder. Came on again today so seems back to my usual pattern. I do remember in March feeing "off" and wondering whether my period was on its way.

ghostmous3 · 10/05/2020 15:45

This is so interesting. I'm so glad I found this thread as I'm starting to worry.

I'm still waiting for my period to come. I had very mild corona virus symptoms around the beginning of April and started my period at the same time then

Since then I've had nothing else. I'm a week late and I've had all the signs of coming on. The irritability, bloating, aches, tearfull ness, sore boobs and very slight pink brown discharge when I wipe in the morning.. which is normal for me a day or two before I come on but actual flow? Theres nothing and I'm normally pretty heavy.

I also feel pretty off. I'm so tired and achy and dizzy ish. I have put it all down to anxiety and stress which I've had plenty off but now I'm wondering if there is more to it
