New thread for those having longer symptoms of Covid.

OP posts:
Kitcat122 · 01/05/2020 09:11

@myguy Not asthmatic. I am still breathless when walking fast or up hill and 7 weeks in.

Moodgie · 01/05/2020 09:25

Morning all, another Groundhog Day with nausea and toilet rush. Hope everyone has a better day.

pinkoneblueone · 01/05/2020 09:26

Ventolin is fine no steroids in that at all.

pinkoneblueone · 01/05/2020 09:28

@simplekindoflife

I have had all sorts of sensations I think it's
My body trying to recover as long as I don't overdo it's ok

Rosesofeyam · 01/05/2020 09:39

myguy I'm severe asthmatic and had three weeks of oral steriods in March/April and take 1600 micrograms steriod symbicort inhaler per day, along with montelukast.
If I don't take it I would end up in hospital.
So for me I have no choice really.
It's interesting about the longer recovery time.

Day 44
Well, I can't really report on how I'm feeling at the moment as I'm still in bed. Grin
I am going to get a shower shortly. I have a consultant appointment this morning (over the phone).
I will report back later, how the day goes. Wish me luck. Grin

Egghead68 · 01/05/2020 09:45

Severe asthmatic too and no choice but to use steroids (one consultant told me to double them during Covoid but 2 weeks later a second consultant was horrified and told me to stop).

I’d dearly like to use ibuprofen to reduce inflammation but suppose I’d better not risk it.

Day 41/42 in the house that no one wants to be in.

Egghead68 · 01/05/2020 09:47

@Rosesofeyam are you on the shielding thread? People are reporting getting letters extending the shielding period Sad

Moodgie · 01/05/2020 09:47

I am thinking of going for a walk later. I haven’t left the house in nearly 6 weeks. Would it maybe actually help? Without too much exertion of course, no hills, just a gentle stroll?

Rosesofeyam · 01/05/2020 09:48

myguyJust as a side note. I think if i hadn't taken the oral steriods at day 8 i would of ended up in hospital. I know for myself they helped with my breathing/keeping my SATS above 90.

toothfairy73 · 01/05/2020 09:54

I’ve just seen the drs. Covid test is negative so we don’t know if I had it or not but I don’t have it now. They suspect pneumonia on my left side and have arranged a CT scan for some time today. The antibiotics are controlling it but not improving it so they are going to change the antibiotic. My lymphocytes count is raised and they are not sure why. They want to GP to repeat this and investigate further if need be. Fingers crossed I can go home from hospital today

SimpleKindofLife · 01/05/2020 09:56

I know @Egghead68 it's crap. And how mad is the 'why are healthy people so scared of Covid' thread? They have no idea how awful this is yet Sad

OP posts:
SimpleKindofLife · 01/05/2020 09:57

Glad they're being thorough @toothfairy73. A lot of people are getting negative tests when they've clearly had Covid.

wildthingsinthenight · 01/05/2020 09:57

Hope everyone has an ok day today and things are on the upFlowers

Rosesofeyam · 01/05/2020 09:58

egghead No I don't think I'm on the shielding thread. I will have a look after my shower. Thank you.Flowers
I never received a letter. My GP told me I had to shield, due to being on steriods and montelukast.
I know I'm on the list as the council have phoned twice to see if I need help.
I would like to know if I've had covid 19 (antibody test) and I'm immune, then can I ignore the shielding.
At the moment I don't want to take the risk as I've never been so I'll in my life.

I hope you are doing better.

Needsomegoodnews · 01/05/2020 09:59

@Dorual that sounds like labyrinthitis. I’m not at that extreme of balance but I certainly feel a weird mix of lightheadedness and pressure in my head and feel fuzzy headed and occasional dizziness with a brain fog that means I can’t think straight - sometimes it makes me worry I’m just going to pass out.

I’m worrying that a lot of my remaining symptoms are circulation issues (erratic heart rate/palpitations/lightheadedness/tingly skin) and with the info on blood clotting I find it particularly worrying but my GP isn’t concerned and they won’t do a blood test. I’ve been going for short walks and it’s not me breathing that restricts me - it’s my heart and the fuzzy head.

Egghead68 · 01/05/2020 10:00

@SimpleKindofLife they will change their minds when they get it.

Thanks @rosesofeyam. Maybe you will escape the extension then.

SimpleKindofLife · 01/05/2020 10:02

I'm worried about blood clots too @Needsomegoodnews, but my GP wasn't concerned either. I did have a blood test at A&E which I hope would've shown up any problems. Maybe push for one if you're worried?

I was thoroughly depressed at the thought of it being May today and still not feeling any better! But I'm trying to look at the positives...

April was a complete bitch but May is going to be our month, the month that we all get better.

Phoned the doctor again my arms feel heavy and aching, Having flashes of temperature and small episodes of breathlessness just sitting down Worried that it is my heart as I get cardiac spasms. Feel really tired and the panic starting to set in again. Just want to cry

mumto3little · 01/05/2020 10:10

I had good sleep and morning but now mentally depressed to receive an email from other friend. He recommended to read the article about covid 19 effects and its treatment. He touched the contents of the article and it made me depressed. I replied to him that I am not ready to see any articles because I have good days when I forget about covid 19.

SimpleKindofLife · 01/05/2020 10:11

Oh @Meercatmama it's so bloody horrible, I know. Don't wait around for the GP too long, go to A&E if you're worried.

OP posts:
Porcupineinwaiting · 01/05/2020 10:12

@Moodgie it will probably be good for your mental health but make it a very gentle one if it is the first time, and prepare to rest afterwards. I did a big shop at Tesco's on Mon and had to go to bed afterwards as I was exhausted. My symptoms didn't flare though so I am planning a short walk tomorrow.

Egghead68 · 01/05/2020 10:15

@mumto3little I am glad you slept well. People mean well but articles can be pretty upsetting.

Moodgie · 01/05/2020 10:15

Thank you @porcupineinwaiting!

mumto3little · 01/05/2020 10:16

@godhelpusall, thank you very much. I have a couple of friends who are very interested in Covid 19 and read many articles and they believe that those uncertain information helps me.

Yes, I believe that I have antibody. It is hard to cope that some people say it impacts my body for a long time and I will not able to get fully recovered etc... It is very unhelpful. I want to clock them.Mentally I am so weaken now...
