Just a Yes or No thread there are hundreds on the ins and outs of this.

This morning I read that Matt Hancock is claiming support for an extension is strong amongst the public but that’s not the impression I’m getting from social media

So, will you stick to the rules if lockdown in the UK is extended for another 3 weeks

Yes or No

OP posts:

Yes

YouAndMeAndTheDevilMakesThree · 28/04/2020 10:44

Would that be the actual lockdown rules or MN lockdown rules?

Yes to the former
No to the latter

itsbetterthanabox · 28/04/2020 10:44

Yes of course

ploopsie · 28/04/2020 10:44

If no kids then no but I wouldn't go crazy just go to diy shops, longer exercise etc.
As I have dc yes because I'm worried about the recent news article which cynically were very well timed!

GrolliffetheDragon · 28/04/2020 10:44

Yes.

How representative is social media and how many people just have a moan and then comply?

morethanasong · 28/04/2020 10:45

Yes, though we're shielding so we would be anyway.

Widowodiw · 28/04/2020 10:45

Only if i have seen a clear exit plan.

ploopsie · 28/04/2020 10:46

However I'm not sure MNs is an accurate sample as many have said no to leaving their houses at all, bleach all their deliveries &/or run into their houses if a neighbour goes into their garden.

Whattodowhattodooo · 28/04/2020 10:46

Yes, but I will moan about it constantly!

Yes, reluctantly.

WhatHaveIFound · 28/04/2020 10:48

Yes

Sparklingbrook · 28/04/2020 10:48

Oh yes I will be moaning about it and missing my family (and the pub) but that’s will pass the time a bit.

notangelinajolie · 28/04/2020 10:49

Yes

And I 100% support it.

MarshaBradyo · 28/04/2020 10:49

People moan more on SM which is to be expected.

But I’m not surprised at majority of yes answers.

Mikki2019 · 28/04/2020 10:49

No (unless we can see partners)

Porcupineinwaiting · 28/04/2020 10:50

Yes

KittenVsBox · 28/04/2020 10:50

There is nothing I could really do except exercise more frequently, and include daily trips to the supermarket. I dont get invited to many social events, so no problems there and my family are 3hr+ away, so unlikely to be able to visit without being stopped.

I can see more families where they are all local starting to visit each other if this goes in much longer tho.

amymel2016 · 28/04/2020 10:51

Yes

MindyStClaire · 28/04/2020 10:52

Yes, absolutely.

Although I would appreciate some idea of how things will be eased and when, just so I know what I'm aiming at. I understand that may just not be possible at the minute though.

Ulver · 28/04/2020 10:52

Yes.
A friend of mine is like a demon though, constantly trying to get me to break it.
She had the virus, wanted to see me after a week, I said no. Two weeks passed I still avoided her ( we are neighbours In the same area not direct, so can chat from a safe distance on the street.
We have chatted on the street since and she wants to go out of London to a beach for a weekend, she wants us to go to the park to “a place that the police don’t know about” to hang out. She asked to come around and I said no, she then texted me saying “shall I come over now”.
I ignored it.
Her son stays at his girlfriends outside London and then comes back and her ex comes around regularly.
She wants me to hang out with her on the street on the weekend. ( social distancing) I said I wasn’t feeling great and might have a cold, have a mild cough and sneezing. She was miffed and said, up to you.
I’m happy just being at home tbh and don’t feel the need to break lockdown at all?
I go to the shops and post office once a week or for a cycle in the park almost every day and that’s enough for me. I have a garden and she doesn’t so maybe that’s why she’s so stir crazy but I’m not going to get roped into a situation where we can get arrested, fined, or our photos ( and that of my daughter) plastered all over social media or the papers for breaking lockdown.
I don’t mind chatting to my neighbors over the garden wall and having a glass of wine but I’m not going to try and go to a beach? Ffs
I’m getting a bit irritated with it now.

BarbaraofSeville · 28/04/2020 10:52

I will follow the law and I will do what I consider reasonable, not what the Mumsnet competitive isolation martyrs think that the rules should be.

But what's the point of asking the question? How many people, especially the typical Mumsnet demographic, are going to admit to breaking the law or behaving in a socially unacceptable way? I can see one or two on this thread, out of nearly a hundred responses.

Probably far more compliant than the population at large, or what the government expects the compliance level to be.

HT96 · 28/04/2020 10:53

'No' but yes! Will be going to see my mum, not going out in public places though.

Giggorata · 28/04/2020 10:54

Yes.
