The midnight trick has stopped working for me, is there a new method anyone is aware of? Thanks

Try Sainsbury's. I got two delivery slots couple of weeks ago. After that I managed to get only click&collect. I always got the message that I am not priority. But then suddenly today I could book a delivery slot and there was a lot to choose from.

I can only get a slot now when I don't have another one booked.

Do you have delivery saver? I’ve got it and the midnight thing also stopped working for me however it appears that Tesco have opened up many more click and collect slots so whilst I can’t get the hike delivery I can get click and collect.

Tesco sent an email this week to confirm priority for those on the government list. I have a vulnerable family member not in list.

I checked at 8pm last night and got a slot for 18th May so it looks like just random releases now

I tried midnight last night and there wasn’t even an option to queue anymore. Just said that the site was too busy and that I should keep refreshing (normally it refreshes automatically and tells you you’re in the queue) I managed to get one today though at around 5pm for them 30th (though we do have priority slots) there was no regular slots on mine.

Bear in mind that tesco now hide slots in the same week as an existing order so it looks like no new ones are coming up until a week after that order date.

PumpkinP don't be disheartened by last night. The whole site was broken for most of the night. It should be back to normal now.

I think they are releasing slots at random times because everyone knows the midnight trick now and the site is crashing.

Vulnerable and delivery pass holders get to see an extra week of slots and therefore can book them first.

You can only book one slot a week, so if you booked one two days ago you won't see any more slots until five days have passed.

This is my new hobby!

Our click and collect slots are appearing about 4pm and are available for the next day usually, however, have never seen a delivery slot!

Tell a lie, there's one available for Sunday!

Ah thanks Northern. I wondered how mu friend was able to book for a week I can't even see. Shes a delivery pass holder.

Thanks that is all really helpful! We are arguably vulnerable (10 months post cancer) and also doing shopping for several shielding neighbours. Yes we have delivery saver. Will keep checking randomly.

Click and collect is a lot easier if it's available near you?

I got one tonight for tomorrow - the whole of Saturday was free.

How are people getting Sainsbury’s slots? Until lockdown we had done an order with them once a fortnight since we moved into this house five years ago, and now it just says that they know we are not elderly or vulnerable, and won’t allow us past that page.

I've just taken a look at Tesco and see that they have started offering C&C slots at 6am. Last time I looked 8am was the first slot.

I see that text most of the time but they do free them for the public once in awhile. Those are left over slots from vulnerable.

I'm not sure theres a pattern! I wonder if they're adding at random times. I checked earlier this eve and have a delivery now booked for tomorrow eve...

I'm getting normal ones randomly as well as ones for vulnerable now and again. The midnight trick isnt working for me either now.

We phoned Tesco’s this week to try to get a slot for shielded parents- they said they are releasing the slots randomly throughout the day and are restricting them if you already have one booked (somehow I’m not sure exactly how that works)

I mentioned this before, but I keep checking my Tesco app every now and again out of interest, and the last couple of days I've logged in at around 10am and seen a stupid number of available slots. I thought it was a bug first but it kept happening so they must have just released a large number of slots then. It was around 30 slots spread over two days. Odd. But it may depend on where you are. I have noticed on Twitter that people have been able to get slots more easily than a couple of weeks ago, so maybe the shops are getting on top of it.

Sainsburys seems to only show one week of Click and collect slots now (all full near me).
I managed to get a Waitrose one last night, but they only open for 3 days at a time (I think).

They are like gold dust.

Try checking through the day as another kind poster suggested to me a couple of weeks ago. Or try another shop.

I havent managed a delivery slot but am getting click and collects every 10-12 days. Not necessarily at same supermarket. Try all you are registered at.

So if you are neither of those you stand no chance! Because those people have had a full week to book all the slots before the public sees them. I notice they aren’t letting anyone else join delivery saver either.

They tweeted yesterday that they’re no longer releasing slots at midnight because people were whinging about having to stay up. They’re released at random times now.
