This isn't a bloody war, the virus isn't an enemy, its a virus, it does what viruses do.
We may get a vaccine, we may get better treatments, equally e may not get either! but so long as we allow those who govern us to escape scrutiny, which is what your post is advocating, then we have no hope.
We did not learn from Italy or China in the early days, by hammering home that message to Hancock/Johnson, we might get them to learn from countries that come out of lock down before us.
Allowing ANY govt carte blanche to do as they like, will end in the sort of disaster you seek to avoid.
We are keeping people at home, in some cases to suffer and to die there, to avoid overwhelming the NHS, i'm not entirely sure that's a great policy success but it does allow (you) & everyone to say "the NHS is coping"
