Would you send your kids to school in June / July

If there is already a thread on this I will ask for it to be deleted.

Hypothetically if the government say schools can open in June / July and you can send them if you wish or you could wait until September would you send them?

Not taking into account any additional needs other siblings may have or your mental health or needing to work etc.

Hell yeah

I’m a teacher. No way are my children going back if social distancing is still needed in general life and I have seen if it can actually be done in school (which I don’t think it can be). I’ll go back to work but DH can WFH so will stay with DC.

Even the founder of the strictest school in England says social distancing can't be done in school.

Social distancing can’t be done in schools, but not can schools remain closed till there’s a vaccine so whether it’s June or September you run into the same problem.

Just hopefully more testing soon and lower rates of infection.

Fulfilment of the 5 steps.

If that's June Brilliant. If not and its July then it will be September.

Yes

Yes but DD’s school has already said it won’t open until at least mid-June, even if told it can earlier. It says too many teachers and pupils are in the vulnerable category who need to isolate for 14 days.

I don’t see how schools (or any childcare) can enforce social distancing and it seems rather pointless to have children so close, parents close together to pick up and drop off but then have to queue 2m from possibly the same people to go round a supermarket.

I’m much more concerned that we will be doing this again at the end of the year/start of next year and don’t want my child to miss out any school unnecessarily.

Do you mean 12 weeks?
