You are the problem. The rules are simple. Go out and exercise and then go home. Just that, nothing more than that.

To be fair then problem is actually bigger than that and has been brewing for years as we increasingly become a country with rules but almost everyone has an excuse for why that rule shouldn’t apply to them/their child/family.

Yes...one (or occasional) battered sausage causes myocardial infraction. Of course.

I have seen the adverts 'one battered sausage is all it takes! Result in instant heart attack' Wink

LaurieMarlow · 21/04/2020 20:27

Spread

AllPlayedOut · 21/04/2020 20:28

Sure. On the bright side maybe the myocardial infarction will get you before COVID19 does.

I'd sooner have a myocardial infarction while enjoying a nice sausage than have one while frothing over people having fun and daring to go outside, or breaking my imaginary rules.

LonelyInLockdown · 21/04/2020 20:30

Has anyone actually caught corona virus from sitting on a bench?
Bizarre you are victimising people sitting on benches when airports are still open and hundreds of thousands of people coming into the country without health checks.

AllPlayedOut · 21/04/2020 20:31

I'm going on a bus to do my shopping tomorrow. I'm tempted to take along a battered sausage now.

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 21/04/2020 20:32

What about snacks on buses!!!! I think we need a new thread...

Snacks on busses are indisputable exercise as long as you go upstairs.

CherryPavlova · 21/04/2020 20:32

It’s not the risk of spreading C19. A packet of crisps or a biscuit isn’t the main mode of transmission.
It’s the rather unpleasant need to eat constantly. It’s just so vulgar to be eating public spaces, unless having a picnic.
People are only generally out for less than two or three hours. Why can’t they limit eating to meal times? Obviously, type one diabetics in hypo are somewhat of an exception.

CherryPavlova · 21/04/2020 20:33

That is eating in public spaces rather than eating the space itself.

AllPlayedOut · 21/04/2020 20:34

I'll throw in a biscuit for you too, Cherrypavlova.

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 21/04/2020 20:34

t’s just so vulgar to be eating public spaces, unless having a picnic.

I thought it was vulgar to call people vulgar. We don't do that.

AllPlayedOut · 21/04/2020 20:35

It’s just so vulgar to be eating public spaces

You could have told me that before I took a bite out of the bus shelter.

SuperMumTum · 21/04/2020 20:36

It's just like Brexit. Each group think they have a better grip on how to solve the problem and are berating each other for not agreeing with them when we should be learning lessons from other countries and holding our politicians to account. Fuck sake. Go out. Don't go out. Who fucking cares? But we do need to get through it.

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 21/04/2020 20:38

You could have told me that before I took a bite out of the bus shelter

Did it taste like chicken? Oh sorry, chicken is vulgar, did it taste of quality?

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 21/04/2020 20:38

Oh fuck, quail.

Shitsgettingcrazy · 21/04/2020 20:39

CherryPavlova except that's not what the ops, or several posters issue is.

Most people do not need to eat whilst exercising. I wouldn't. Mainly because I not that organised.

But that doesn't mean you can't, or the 'you are the problem'.

Some posters have a problem with people eating whilst out walking for hours. And several posters say the type of food isn't the issue.

Maxandezra · 21/04/2020 20:40

well if you had packed serviettes and cuttlery I'm sure eating the bus shelter would have been totally proper and not at all vulgar!

AllPlayedOut · 21/04/2020 20:40

It did have a rather irony tang.

MH1111 · 21/04/2020 20:43

Would curry sauce with a battered sausage be going too far?

1forsorrow · 21/04/2020 20:44

We went to a local beach today for a walk. Shockingly we did drive as it is only a mile away so not a long drive but DH is disabled and can't manage the hill. So while we were there we sat on a bench, horrific I know but he can't walk far without sitting down so we walk along the prom and he has a regular sit down, sometimes I sit and we have a chat sometimes I go and have a brisk walk so I get some appropriate exercise.

While we were there we saw the police, the Coastguard and the bomb disposal squad. None of them seemed at all worried that we had driven there or that we had a sit down. I suppose the bomb that had washed up distracted them a bit..........

1forsorrow · 21/04/2020 20:46

Obviously, type one diabetics in hypo are somewhat of an exception. Should they wear a sign or ring a bell, just so you don't have to fret about what they are doing?

LaurieMarlow · 21/04/2020 20:47

It’s the rather unpleasant need to eat constantly. It’s just so vulgar to be eating public spaces, unless having a picnic.

Vulgar is just one of those meaningless words designed to shame people.

Eating in public is a cultural norm in the U.K. We’re not in Japan now people.

LaurieMarlow · 21/04/2020 20:48

So while we were there we sat on a bench, horrific I know

If you did extra self flagellation it’ll be ok.

pucelleauxblanchesmains · 21/04/2020 20:49

I have been scrolling intermittently through this thread and I must say I'm disappointed it took a full 500 or so messages before someone decided that ingesting one (1) battered substance might cause you to drop dead on the spot. Poor showing given the base level of batshittery on these threads.

Floatyboat · 21/04/2020 20:50

@SuperMumTum

Who the fuck cares?

People who get infected because some greedy sod is eating crisps on a bench. That's who. Eat crisps on a bench in your garden if it matters that much. Don't inflict it on others.

MH1111 · 21/04/2020 20:53

Floatyboat

I’m pretty sure if they’re crinkle cut steak crisps, you’ll be fine.

Also if you’re not being greedy but are genuinely hungry, that’s ok?
