No one.
Please stop asking.
All you will get is speculation and hearsay from someone that a poster meets on her dog walk, someone who swears the head has emailed her and someone else making it up.
Stop asking.

Yes! This exactly.

DBML · 14/04/2020 21:50

So....do you reckon June or September?

Wink
bulletjournalbilly · 14/04/2020 21:52

We have already reached the peak so schools will be back in 3 weeks when the lock-down is lifted. Make sure all your DC have their homework done.

PumpkinP · 14/04/2020 22:14

Yes!! Just read someon e asking when play groups will be open Shock we don't even know when schools will be open Hmm

cabbageking · 14/04/2020 22:19

The Government does not know.
Schools do not know.
Coronary has not peaked yet in England.
No body knows.

Tatapie · 14/04/2020 22:23

May 11th. I'm guessing! Wink

DBML · 14/04/2020 22:26

Well Mumsetters are predicting international travel to resume around 2221 I believe I read, so I’d say in about 50 years for schooling.

Geometricprince · 14/04/2020 22:28

All of the speculation around everything cv related is driving me mad and I'm probably as guilty of it as anyone BlushGrin

Loads of posts on a previous thread saying 'they (the government) could at least give us an idea'. They can't, they don't know, nobody knows, we have to wait and see.

but it'll definitely be June 12th, my cousins sisters friend knows someone who works for the dfe

colouringinpro · 14/04/2020 22:33

Given that all GCSEs and A levels have been cancelled, there's no way we'll be back before June.

FlamingoAndJohn · 14/04/2020 22:44

But the exams could just have been cancelled because it would be unfair on the children taking the exams to go through all this, no teaching in school, less tuition, stress and worry and possibility even bereavement.

Love your sentiment but will not stop the endless inane and banal questions, sadly.

Appuskidu · 14/04/2020 22:54

Completely agree, @FlamingoAndJohn!

Sosadandempty · 14/04/2020 22:57

They better not go back too soon because all that will happen is that cases will spike again Sad.

Chouxalacreme · 15/04/2020 00:13

It’s June 1st according to my info

cabbageking · 15/04/2020 01:45

If it was June 1 they wouldn't be discussing virtual schools appeals.

CandyLeBonBon · 15/04/2020 02:17

Well bloody university has t been cancelled because I have to still (somehow) submit my final two modules! By the end of May in spite of having access to no resources almost non-existent tutoring and zero guidance as to how exactly to deliver my work.

FlamingoAndJohn · 15/04/2020 11:37

It’s June 1st according to my info

And what info is that?

Reginabambina · 15/04/2020 11:39

If you want to know when schools open again call up your local private school and tell them you’re interested in enrolling your child when schools reopen. You’ll be the first to find out.

BeefyQueef · 15/04/2020 11:40

But I thought the Mumsnet experts had decreed that it would be September at the earliest as their nan's bunion told them?

DBML · 15/04/2020 11:56

People are asking impossible questions and others are answering with guesswork and speculation.
That’s all very well, but people have to remember that it’s all nonsense at the end of the day.
The worst thing (as in many situations) is the not knowing.
The irritating thing is the people who have no idea, who spread false information so certainly and easily.

“I’m afraid schools will have to open by June”

“Schools will need to stay closed until May least 2021”.

“You won’t be taking an international holiday until at least May 2021 I’m sorry to say”.

It’s all bollocks because none of you know. It’s great to have the freedom to discuss these things, but people need to take the responses with a grain of salt.

Rebelwithallthecause · 15/04/2020 11:58

Telegraph this morning said schools would return May 11th or May 25th

May 25th was the plan but ministers are pushing for May 11th now due to the lates economic reporting

Appuskidu · 15/04/2020 12:00

Telegraph this morning said schools would return May 11th or May 25th

Oh, it just be true then. Newspapers would never lie.
