A thread for people with CV19 symptoms that have lasted for more than a couple of weeks.

First thread here

(Called 40+ to keep a rough tab on when the first symptoms started being reported on MN).

OP posts:

Day 29/30 Since 27 I’ve definitely been feeling I’m coming out of a bad relapse that started around day 20. Only moderate fatigue, catarrh and upper chest pain at the moment but waiting for the next downturn.

Hope everyone is doing OK.

Egghead68 · 19/04/2020 08:49

According to this the medical staff said the virus stays longer in fitter people (!) - pretty sure that's not me!

Interesting! It was me (not now though - walking a minute is an achievement).

@wallyrag it sounds like it could be Covid-19. I think we have all found things like resting, drinking a lot, trying not to spend too long lying flat and a hot-water bottle on our chests very helpful. Hope you feel better soon (I say soon but realistically it may take a while).

WorriesomeDad · 19/04/2020 08:52

Woken up feeling dreadful again after a good few days. Sore congested lungs, chills, nausea, palpitations. At my wits end. Really beginning to wonder www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.sciencetimes.com/amp/articles/25194/20200403/scientist-discover-chronic-mutation-coronavirus-patient-who-contagious-49-days.htm

godhelpusall · 19/04/2020 08:59

@WorriesomeDad that is interesting. Makes you wonder.

Dorual · 19/04/2020 09:04

That's scary Worrisomedad. I'm most surprised about the sheer amount of tests he had though, for mild symptoms. And we can't even get a single test here!

godhelpusall · 19/04/2020 09:05

And the only reason he got rid was due to a transfusion

godhelpusall · 19/04/2020 09:06

And we are barely even being recognised by the medical community

Dorual · 19/04/2020 09:08

@TheDrsWife46 I'd say GP at this point too probably.

Dorual · 19/04/2020 09:11

The tests should be available within a month? Can't wait for them

longshot · 19/04/2020 09:16

@Casino218 we sound very similar still.

Day 40 here.

Woke a bit groggy but that soon goes off. Ever so slight chest tightness today but I did ‘more’ yesterday so not all that surprised and not that bad at all. Legs a bit jelly like but again I think it’s because I made myself do 4000 steps yesterday which was I suppose more than I have in some time! I’m aiming for the same today and some Pilates stretches.

I’m finding if I stick to around 45 mins / 1hr of activity and then rest for 30 mins I am generally ok.

I go to bed at before 10.30pm every night and I don’t drink alcohol at all (I do want to but I’m not) and I make sure I eat regularly even though I’ve actually not been that hungry of late. I’m taking vit c, wheatgrass, bone broth, zinc spray and Epsom salt baths daily. I was doing inhalation also but have stopped now. I don’t know if any of this has made the tiniest bit of different to be honest!!

The no.1 thing I’ve done it rested, done breathing exercises with a bit of meditation. I’ve also pottered around every hour or so most days to stop my legs getting really week. I’ve sat out in the sun every day when it’s been there.

Monty6 · 19/04/2020 09:22

@TheDrsWife46 i agree that it would be worth discussing with your gp and hopefully they will follow up or send you in for further tests. I think the fizzing (neuropathy-type symptoms) and weak legs is worth further evaluation. It might well just be one of the strange ways this virus presents as several are suffering this way, but it can also be linked to b12 deficiency. The pernicious anaemia society are a good source of further information on this.

D39 for me and still struggling with energy levels and some more intermittent other symptoms.

godhelpusall · 19/04/2020 09:25

@Dorual which tests? Can you link? I would pay through the nose for one right now!

onlinelinda · 19/04/2020 09:29

@WorriesomeDad if that article is correct, then testing absolutely must be done on everyone. It's going to be interesting watching our disorganised government catch up.

onlinelinda · 19/04/2020 09:30

Forgot to add: day 36 here.

Casino218 · 19/04/2020 09:35

@longshot good to hear you are doing ok. I've started Yoga with my dd. I think it helps to provide some calm in amongst all this anxiety.

Moodgie · 19/04/2020 09:46

@longshot Could you please share your breathing exercises?

Egghead68 · 19/04/2020 09:49

Sorry to hear that @WorriesomeDad. The relapses are so soul-destroying.

godhelpusall · 19/04/2020 09:51

Thanks @Dorual . Sounds like it would be a while before non key workers got one. God I hate our useless government

Egghead68 · 19/04/2020 09:53

I can’t remember if it was posted here but there was a “fact-check” article about that widely shared breathing exercises video which debunked some of it. From memory they (the respiratory physios they consulted( said you should breathe through your nose, not your mouth, should huff instead of cough and that lying on your front won’t make much difference for people with milder disease.

Egghead68 · 19/04/2020 09:55

It sounds like you have a great regime @longshot.

Moodgie · 19/04/2020 10:06

@WorriesomeDad Sorry to hear about your dip. I have had runny tummy this morning, feel nauseous, breathing is not what it should be and I’m scared of actually getting up because of the ill, exhausted feeling I had the last two days. I’m thinking about attempting a steamy shower.

Kitcat122 · 19/04/2020 10:18

Day 36

I'm so sorry some of you are still feeling rotten. @TheDrsWife46 I read an article last week about hospitals finding a large percentage of people having neurological issues with Coronavirus. I am on day 4 of feeling much better. Still being careful not to do too much as still very slightly breathless and still get some chest twinges if I overdo it too much (hoover more than one room🤣) but really hope I'm on the mend. The last 2 weeks I have just rested rested rested and taken high dose vit D.

MillStone · 19/04/2020 10:25

Hello everyone, I've migrated here form the lungs thread.

I'm nearly at 4 weeks and was hoping some of you who have been here a while and have a lot of experience could please offer an opinion on where I might be or what to look out for?

Quick history: First symptom was breathing trouble which got bad, followed a small cough, back ache, lots of night sweats, ear ache, sore throat, lung pain. 1 course of Doxycycline and a nearly completed course of Amoxicillin for ear issues brings me to today.

Now at almost 4 weeks I'm feeling almost back to normal in myself. My breathing has improved a lot but still feels laboured. I now have a very painful back and chest and I'm extremely tired. I still feel a bit hot and I do have sweaty armpits and clammy hands but my temp is currently 37.2.

As I can see is really common my chest, back, lung pain and breathlessness get worse with a small amount of activity -- showering, cooking dinner etc. I'm resting a lot.

What I have noticed in the past few days is that although my breathing is generally a lot better, before I had bad breathing trouble with minor back / lung pain, but now I have better breathing but with much more back / lung pain. No congestion, temp of 37.2 and good oxygen levels.

Thanks for reading and any thoughts much appreciated. I hope you are all doing well.

PS - just watched the post viral YT movie. So Awesome.

godhelpusall · 19/04/2020 10:26

I'm just starting to feel well enough to feel furious at how this whole situation has been (mis) managed. I feel like we need to make our voices heard somehow, to give visibility of all those people being left to suffer without any real medical input. Angry
