Firstly, please be nice. I feel bloody awful, hard to breathe, everything hurts etc. Please don't call me stupid or selfish.

Secondly I need the actual advice/rules, not the MN opinion.

I have symptoms - cough, difficulty breathing, aching, exhausted, temp. So I am isolating in one bedroom. I have dh and 2 dc. And a dog. Are they still allowed to go out for one walk a day, obviously making sure social distancing (easy as never see anyone where we dog walk).

I thought they could (based on a friend who had to do it a few weeks ago). But then thought maybe I'd read different and now in confused.

People aren't tuning nasty, just utterly frustrated at those who don't think the rules apply and are putting the rest of us and our family and friends at risk as well as extending the time we are going to be in this situation

BreathlessCommotion · 11/04/2020 12:28

But they don't think that. They think they are following the rules. What do you achieve by telling someone they are stupid?

I have read the advice but my brain is muddled at the moment. I thought I'd read it had changed, but I was near on hallucinating last night so wasn't sure I'd I'd imagined jt

Oh come on. Who can possibly think that it is ok to go out when they have symptoms of a pandemic that has shut down the globe? Really?

midnightstar66 · 11/04/2020 12:32

I very much anyone misinterpreted the rules so badly that they thought they could go out running for leisure while symptomatic. That's never been stated.

Paintforkitchen · 11/04/2020 12:33

@Hearhoovesthinkzebras I know - the op was asking about others in her family not herself.

ChoporNot · 11/04/2020 12:35

This. Seriously, honestly, what are you achieving by being so frothy at people who thought they were doing stuff within the guidelines, but upon hearing they have not, have agreed to abide by the new guidelines?

We checked the guidelines. If they had read how they do now we would have acted differently. What exactly do you want me to do about that? What can I apologise for? Not re-checking the guidelines every single day. I will if you like.

@BreathlessCommotion I hope you feel better soon.

cologne4711 · 11/04/2020 12:35

I hope nobody in a decision making role reads this, as I don't want to be banned from running because some people won't follow the rules.

Admittedly your symptoms could be something else entirely - there are still other bugs doing the rounds with similar symptoms, but without being tested you don't know.

BreathlessCommotion · 11/04/2020 12:37

To be clear, I'm not running anywhere. I curee rly have to crawl to the bathroom

Yes you have never been allowed to exercise with symptoms (although I can see it is confusingly written).

You used to be allowed out to exercise if you were on the 14 day isolation because you lived with someone with symptoms that has now gone

TheReluctantCountess · 11/04/2020 12:38

Hope you feel better soon.

Littleposh · 11/04/2020 12:38

@ChoporNot hopefully stop someone else from a judgment call as bad as this!!!!

midnightstar66 · 11/04/2020 12:39

The rules are clear on other household members as well though - advice has obviously been changing so it is worth checking on the gov at the time it's relevant to you. It's been all household members for a while though

ChoporNot · 11/04/2020 12:43

This is very, very true and we will now be checking.

callmeadoctor · 11/04/2020 12:44

I don't think its confusing at all, it said that if you were household members and one person may have it, you could exercise, it didnt mean that the sufferer could exercise!!!! (Honestly just why would you?)

callmeadoctor · 11/04/2020 12:46

As a plus, I would be very surprised if you did have it, that you could get out and run with it. Presumably you aren't very ill......

callmeadoctor · 11/04/2020 12:47

Sorry the above was meant for Chopor not OP

eurochick · 11/04/2020 12:48

The guidelines genuinely have changed, as the screenshot shows. I was surprised by the old advice but the poster above was following it.

WotnoPasta · 11/04/2020 12:50

If you ring your local council they will refer you to the local support teams.
As well as shopping they can also provide dog walkers (well mine do!).

Lifeisbeaut · 11/04/2020 12:51

Hope you are feeling better soon

Poetryinaction · 11/04/2020 12:54

Exercise yes. Food no.

ChoporNot · 11/04/2020 12:54

@callmedoctor No, very, very, very mild symptoms. TBH not entirely convinced it is CV. Coughing first thing in the morning for a day or two, mild, mild temp and a couple of hours of breathlessness. A bit weedy feeling. Apart from the breathlessness (which is odd - never experienced that before) I probably would not have really noticed any of it if this whole thing hadn't been going on. I have been pretty much carrying on as normal with day to day tasks at home.

So yes I have very mild symptoms. If they are CV at all.

TiredofSM · 11/04/2020 13:05

Worst thing I’ve read on here in ages. Someone who believes they had CV symptoms but was ok to go running because “they held their breath” when they ran past someone.
And this person has a garden.

We’re all fucked.

Branleuse · 11/04/2020 13:10

No you have to all quarantine, including your dog. Your dog will have to have a couple of weeks in house and garden. Please dont potentially infect your friends via your dog.
Get well soon OP

Quartz2208 · 11/04/2020 13:15

If you are breathless is not particularly mild!

My son started with symptoms, he is now day 12 and we have been in since then, fortunately i did get an online order on Tuesday but it is difficult as we need a few bits, but your Dh needs to stay in too.
