@longshot
Great news!

Kitcat122 · 13/04/2020 16:10

@Moodgie I am on day approx 30 and have felt really well for the last week except for achey chest and breathlessness. I seem stuck at this point and not moving backwards or forward.

Moodgie · 13/04/2020 16:14

@Kitcat122 Yes, this is very similar. Ups and downs daily, can have a good afternoon and then bad evening again and so on. Stuck on a rollercoaster. Did you have other symptoms before? I never really had fever or cough.

Bornlazy · 13/04/2020 16:16

Woke up feeling like shit this morning. Mornings and nights are my worst times. Anyway went for a bath and took some paracetamol along with my omeprazole and a variety of vitamins and felt a bit more human. I am actually taking more paracetamol now than I did at the beginning of this as I need them more to try and get my life back.

Managed a walk which was ok didn’t walk as far as I knew I had to walk back which for me is the killer as it’s uphill a bit. Came home and have done nothing else - sat out in the garden enjoying the sunshine.

@Gunner30 I have quite a lot of pain in my left side/ribs but I thought mines might be pleurisy as it’s when I take a deep breathe in I feel it most

My main gripe today is I must have slept awkward and have a really sore neck which I’d normally take ibuprofen for. Contemplating a pink gin for medicinal purposes.

I hope everyone desperate to speak to a dr manage to get through the barriers that seem to be put in place. The one good thing about going back to work is I’ll have lots of drs to tap into for information and advice.

tempestterra · 13/04/2020 16:18

quarentinequeen I didn't lose my sense of smell or taste; but my taste changed and everything tasted like slightly metallically and rotting onions...water and squash were the worst but when I started eating again all food tasted really unpleasant. It's improved, but I still have an altered sense of taste. My sense of smell has always been incredible (my other senses are well dodgy!) but although I didn't lose my sense of smell it's been diminished. It is improving again though.

@TheDrsWife46
@godhelpusall

Sorry to hear your children are suffering too. Could I ask their symptoms? My daughter has been ill on and off since the beginning of December with various things. It hadn’t occurred to me until the last few days reading through these posts that her latest illness could possibly be coronavirus. It doesn’t really fit time-wise, but the symptoms certainly do.

Interesting seeing some posters mention doxycycline, she’s now taking this for tonsillitis. Perhaps we’ll see an improvement.

Those with nausea and reflux, please could I ask what food is helping?

godhelpusall · 13/04/2020 16:42

@Takemebackto98 my daughter started with a sore throat which I got her antibiotics for, she didn't have much of a cough- a bit- but was very nauseous and had a temperature. She felt dizzy and poorly, and has done the old ok for two days then poorly again. It's been over 3 weeks and she's generally much better but still saying she's tired and still a bit hit and miss with food etc

tempestterra · 13/04/2020 16:46

I wonder if more women get gastro symptom and men get more resp. Symptoms and that's why there is less info about the gastro stuff?

godhelpusall · 13/04/2020 16:51

@tempestterra interesting theory 🤔. Certainly it seems there is less of a risk of critical illness with gastro (although who knows?!)

OneDayAtATime123 · 13/04/2020 16:55

@Moodgie
Day 26:
I never had fever or cough either. But other blahs, with some good days in between

Meercatmama · 13/04/2020 16:57

I had a week at the beginning of nausea and reflux , diarrhoea plus a complete loss of appetite, I found loads of water helped plus very plain food such as a little plain toast. As I improved I found keeping my meals small but often has helped. On day 29 still have not fully regained my appetite and can only eat small potions and also feel occasionally sick. My husband who is on Day 15 has had loads of burping and wind and constipation with stomach pains He also found lots of water Gaviscon and small but frequent potions of meals helps Hope this helps.

Casino218 · 13/04/2020 17:02

@tempest thank you. I'm sure a doctor was on this thread who had had CV and she said ALT levels can rise with CV.

godhelpusall · 13/04/2020 17:02

@OneDayAtATime123 how are you doing now? Fewer blahs?

LonelyFromCorona · 13/04/2020 17:03

Are any of you actually confirmed positive test?

Moodgie · 13/04/2020 17:05

@OneDayAtATime123 What have your other blahs been? How have you been with shortness of breath? And how are you now?

OneDayAtATime123 · 13/04/2020 17:09

slight breathlessness, a mild headache sometimes with foggy head and mild fatigue.
I have been able to tackle mild headaches with Neti Pot, and mostly it works, but slight uneasy breathlessness is a mystery . It is not bad, but just makes you want to take a deeper breath . My stats are ok though SPO2 = 98~99 %. I used to have very high pulse rate too, but that seems to be slowing down now.

@Coleoptera city doc are still selling tests but not sure if it will be reliable now given you are on Day 32. Your best bet now will be the antibody test but those are not yet available I think as they don't have a reliable one.

Casino218 · 13/04/2020 17:20

@LonelyfromCorona you've asked this question before and I remember replying before that NOONE IS BEING TESTED unless critical or health care worker so stop trolling this thread

Joeaj23 · 13/04/2020 17:21

Day 34 is much better than day 33. Yesterday I had a bit of a relapse and suffered shortness of breath, anxiety, fever, and in the evening felt very light headed as if i was about to pass out.

Thankfully i had the best sleep I've had in about 4 weeks and slept for 10 hours, i think the lack of sleep was really playing a part in how bad i was feeling. i also think i pushed myself too hard trying to get back to going for daily walks and will look to spend this week resting.

I had a GP appointment today and the GP was very reassuring. He listened to my lungs and said there was no sign of any damage, my heart rate and oxygen levels were very good and my temperature was normal. He said may take several weeks to recover. He also said that I'm past the 'danger zone' as to when people usually get drastically worse.

I think the recovery time for a lot of people is going to be closer to 2 months than the 3-6 weeks quoted by WHO.

Tomorrow I have a call scheduled with a mental health expert due to the anxiety this has caused me.

Here is another interesting article on the recovery process, seems there's a lot of people really struggling.

NotAnotherUserNumber · 13/04/2020 17:25

Anyone else beginning to feel like they just can’t stand this anymore? Sad My breathing difficulty, chest pain etc, did get better, but the fever, terrible headache, nausea, exhaustion, muscle pain etc. just won’t go away and it’s been over 5 weeks now. How much longer can the go on. I just don’t seem to be able to get completely rid of the infection. I am sure you can all understand. I am so fed up!

TheDrsWife46 · 13/04/2020 17:26

@Coleoptera @findingschools4myboys had a positive test which she obtained privately. There are companies that produce the antigen/antibody test like SureScreen in Derby. When i contacted them they were clear that they are not licensed for home use and so can only see business to business. Findingschools4boys managed to get a test through a business. Tests because they are unlicensed are found to be inaccurate and finding wanted to take that risk and because she got a positive rather than a false negative felt that her risk was worth it. These tests are around to buy buy you need to decide if the risk of a false result is worth the outlay.

@LonelyFromCorona the majority of us havent been tested. Others like @babdoc and @Calyx8 have had positive tests through hospital admissions. Please remember that every one of us on this thread would pay over the odds to know whether we have this, and we too are reliant on the testimony of those posters who have been tested positive but regrettably had to be hospitalised to find out. Whether we have had a test or not does not make it any less distressing to experience rigours, shortness of breath, genuine breathing difficulties, palpitations etc without having access to medical support, examination or diagnosis.

godhelpusall · 13/04/2020 17:27

@Joeaj23 that link has a paywall. What was the gist? I was trying to read it earlier.

godhelpusall · 13/04/2020 17:29

@NotAnotherUserNumber you must be so fed up. Can you get a dr apt?

TheDrsWife46 · 13/04/2020 17:29

@NotAnotherUserNumber apparently the correct response to your despair after five weeks is to ask you “have you been tested though?”

Have you been given any antibiotics for potential secondary infection? And have you spoken to your GP for any level of reassurance. Im only on day 22 and im finding it very exhausting. Apprently there was a good article in the daily mail (sorry) earlier about stories of long term recovery. Hopefully as the curve flattens out more attention will be turned to the long term effects and care plans for those of us who feel that we’ve had it. And we can pray for that illusive test.
