Just been told that you can't put washing out to dry because of the virus is this true.

OP it can only get on your washing on the weekends. So wash M to F and your sheets will be CV-free.

To be fair they're not likely going to get a definitive answer on here, look at all the people convinced that there are specific time limits for daily exercise, limits on the number of times you can go to the supermarket or restrictions on what you can buy.

OP, if you're unsure about what is allowed or banned, read the gov.uk and NHS websites, there's a link to covid19 information on each homepage. If something like hanging out washing is banned, it will say on there.
