Yes. We didn't open it. It went in the recycling with the rest of the junk post.

H1978 · 07/04/2020 20:55

Got ours today made everyone read it, then wash hands and after that it went in the recycle

BackforGood · 07/04/2020 20:55

Ours came this morning I haven't rushed to open it.
It does seem like a bit of a waste of money. I can't see that anyone who has removed themselves from the news in all other forms is going to read this letter. What a waste of money.

Lynda07 · 07/04/2020 20:56

Thanks for reminding me. Yes, mine arrived today, I opened and skim read it. It didn't say anything much that was new, a leaflet was enclosed which I haven't looked at yet.

daisypond · 07/04/2020 20:58

Yes, got it a couple of days ago. Seemed like a big waste of money to me. But maybe it’ll have impact with some people.

TheSpottedZebra · 07/04/2020 21:01

Letmegetthisrightasawoman I'd hazard a guess that 'level with you' was very deliberately chosen to be as Boris would speak. Possibly he used it on the first address the nation thing? And he DOES mix his registers, so it's very on-brand.

Lulalulabelle · 07/04/2020 21:07

Yes, today

ivegotthisyeah · 07/04/2020 21:07

Am I the only one that's going to keep mine? It's a bit of history that hopefully will never be repeated again. I have not received mine yet but I'm keeping it in my box I'm going to make - Am I weird HmmHmm

KatySun · 07/04/2020 21:12

We got two for some reason - one yesterday and one today. DS was very excited and read the whole thing out.

Letmegetthisrightasawoman · 07/04/2020 21:15

@reefedsail Not only that, he also starts a sentence with but. Methinks this could be a good one for higher ability pupils to improveGrin

I'm keeping ours, going in the memory box, it's a part of history

CatBatCat · 07/04/2020 21:37

Yep, got the fire this evening.

tinytemper66 · 07/04/2020 21:54

Mine came this morning and I duly put it in the recycling bin.

SoooTiredToday · 07/04/2020 21:55

Yes! It has arrived! (What a massive waste of paper!!!) I'll stick it in a scrap book I'm making for DC!

ILoveJoeBrown · 07/04/2020 21:57

mamalovebird: haha so did mine! I suppose if everyone throws it in the bin, but just you and me keeps ours, it might be worth 20p in 50 years. What do you think?

prettybird · 07/04/2020 23:07

We got ours yesterday (in Glasgow). Came as part of the generic junk mail that the postie delivers - not specifically addressed to the household.

ProfessorPootle · 08/04/2020 00:01

Arrived this morning, am also keeping it for posterity, so the great grand kids can take it to school in the future like I did with my nan’s VE Day newspapers

KatherineJaneway · 08/04/2020 06:57

Not yet

buttery81 · 08/04/2020 07:02

Got mine yesterday Grin

ArriettyJones · 08/04/2020 07:04

Yes, a few days ago. We were all a bit Hmm at the “I’ll level with you” bit.

StrongTea · 08/04/2020 07:07

Yesterday, Central Scotland.

NotEverythingIsBlackandwhite · 08/04/2020 07:50

We had ours yesterday and I'm definitely keeping it as a historical record of these extraordinary times.

Pelleas · 08/04/2020 07:55

No, but my parents have had one - addressed to my father only, which I thought was rather sexist.

BarkandCheese · 08/04/2020 07:57

I got mine yesterday. I put it away in drawer and told DD when her children are studying the great pandemic of 2020 they can take it into school to show everyone.

Ferfooksek · 08/04/2020 07:59

Got mine yesterday. Opened it up, read it, binned it. No quarantining here.
