If you had mild symptoms how long did they last?

I know every body is different but just trying to calm myself down..

DS (3yo) had a fever last week which ended before the weekend. No cough at all. We obviously self isolated since we found out, so no other contact.

4-5 days ago (a couple of days after he got better) I started feeling achy and tired and realised I had a very slightly raised temp - about 37.5.

On day 2-3 I started with a cough, not quite dry but I also have rhinitis so it might be added to whatever this is. Now I still have the cough, the same type of temp (never going above 37.8 apart from once when it went to 38 but went down quickly on its own). I don't even take paracetamol.

I am overall just a bit achy and tired and the cough is obvs annoying but I also have a slightly achy chest too, a weird sensation. Like I need to stretch it a lot?

If you had mild symptoms that sounded like Coronavirus how long did it take for them to go away?
Did your symptoms sound like mine?

I get health anxiety and I worry that my symptoms are just the beginning and it will get worst and I am scared. DH says if fever hasn't appeared yet, chances are I will be fine as symptoms are mild (he is always an optimist Smile)

Nearly two weeks, still have a tight chest, cough and feel shattered all the time. Worse at night. Fed up with it all now.

By mild I'm assuming not needing medical intervention. I would put myself in this group and I've had symptoms (fever, breathless, fatigue etc) for over 3 weeks.

lazylinguist · 04/04/2020 17:42

I've got no idea if I had it, but if I did it's lasted a looong time. Sore throat, raised lymph nodes in neck and fatigue from end of February, followed by loss of smell and taste and eye infection. Lingered on for weeks. Felt a bit better for acouple of days, then cough started, followed by full-on snotty cold symptoms. Cough got worse and a bit wheezy in chest. Just beginning to feel better this morning. So that's like... what.... 5 weeks?

DH came down with a cough and a fever on monday. On Thursday he just had a slight cough. He is now 6 days later back to normal. He also has.mild asthma but he only used his inhaler a handful of times.
I'm 7 days in and have developed a temp of 100 today on top of a long list of delightful symptoms.

Ooh yes that's another thing all of us had - an eye infection, is that a symptom? I suppose it can be a symptom of any virus but I've never had one before.

Apparently it can be. It's the eye infection and sense of smell thing that makes me think I had it tbh. I know you can get both with other viruses, flu etc, but I never normally do .

Crayfishforyou · 04/04/2020 19:03

Mine started with really sore eyes

maybemaybemaybe · 04/04/2020 19:27

I have heard the eye pain a lot, I think it's one of those symptoms that pop up everywhere but not mentioned by the nhs. I wish they were more specific - all they say is about fever and cough - but I understand it a bit also as it varies so much from one person to another

@findingschools4myboys oh no 25 days! I hope that's it and it doesn't come back now. Make sure you take things slowly/easy

@lazylinguist 5 weeks wow fingers crossed at least that was it and now you have immunity. What an ordeal.

I'd be thankful if I only get mild symptoms and don't need medical intervention but even so, if they last for long then it just wears you down... and the anxiety!! fingers crossed for an easy night for all of us 🤞

Yes it was long, so I really hope it was cv - otherwise it was another virus and I may have cv yet to come! I wasn't terribly ill, but it was a grind and I still feel pretty low.
