If you had mild symptoms how long did they last?

I know every body is different but just trying to calm myself down..

DS (3yo) had a fever last week which ended before the weekend. No cough at all. We obviously self isolated since we found out, so no other contact.

4-5 days ago (a couple of days after he got better) I started feeling achy and tired and realised I had a very slightly raised temp - about 37.5.

On day 2-3 I started with a cough, not quite dry but I also have rhinitis so it might be added to whatever this is. Now I still have the cough, the same type of temp (never going above 37.8 apart from once when it went to 38 but went down quickly on its own). I don't even take paracetamol.

I am overall just a bit achy and tired and the cough is obvs annoying but I also have a slightly achy chest too, a weird sensation. Like I need to stretch it a lot?

If you had mild symptoms that sounded like Coronavirus how long did it take for them to go away?
Did your symptoms sound like mine?

I get health anxiety and I worry that my symptoms are just the beginning and it will get worst and I am scared. DH says if fever hasn't appeared yet, chances are I will be fine as symptoms are mild (he is always an optimist Smile)

@carlywurly 36.8 is a lower than normal temperature....

I had fatigue, tight chest, chest pain, temp between 37.7-38.1 and slight cough. No loss of taste or smell though so who knows if I had it

maybemaybemaybe · 03/04/2020 22:41

@SugarSugarShimmy our symptoms sound very similar. How long till you felt better?

First symptoms for me were on Wednesday, started with chills and a fever, then a dry cough started that night. Yesterday and today I'm still spiking temperatures, coughing at times, and my chest goes tight and I get a little wheezy every now and then. Sense of smell and taste okay so far. I've been swabbed today as I'm a nurse.

Handmaid2019 · 03/04/2020 22:44

Oh also headaches most of the time.

SugarSugarShimmy · 03/04/2020 22:46

@maybemaybemaybe I self isolated for 10 days as I was getting the slight temperatures then I was ok. Probably felt completely well after 2 weeks. At no point was I really ill though

SugarSugarShimmy · 03/04/2020 22:47

Oh yes I had a headache too!

buzz91 · 03/04/2020 22:57

I’m on day 8, my temp fluctuated between 35.4 and 38.4 but was generally normal throughout and my cough hasn’t been too bad. Started with a sore throat that progressed into barely being able to swallow without it hurting, now I’ve got a slightly tickle throat, uncomfortable breathing and backache - but feel great compared to day 2-4

buzz91 · 03/04/2020 22:58

I also had several nosebleeds Confused poss because of the throat issues?

MaxNormal · 03/04/2020 23:03

If it was covid-19 I had symptoms for around a month, still have a very mild dry cough but almost better.
I started with a random fever one night and into the next day. Then sore sinuses and a headache for a few days. Then a tight chest and stabbing chest pains for a few more.
Then chest tightness, breathlessness and a dry cough, a bad sore throat like tonsillitis for one day, sense of smell was muted and also went weird, kept thinking I could smell chlorine for instance.
Chest was worse in the evenings and overnight, and when I talked or laughter I'd have a weird whooshing breathy cough.
I spent one day in bed feeling ill and wiped out.
I'd go from fine to feeling crap randomly while this was all going on.
Curious to see what a future antibody test will reveal...

AlandAnna · 03/04/2020 23:03

Only six days then back to normal x

MaxNormal · 03/04/2020 23:04

Meant to say, I was on a ferry from Calais in late Feb that was absolutely full of school ski trips returning to the UK, symptoms started around a week after that.

maybemaybemaybe · 04/04/2020 16:49

I hope everybody is feeling better.

Today I have a slightly more productive cough. Part of me thinks that this means it might not be CV and part of my is freaking out that this combined with the slightly raised temp (37.1-37.7 but latter once a day only) means I am getting pneumonia.
I have never had it before so not sure what it feels like and trying to calm myself down and not google much. I would have more symptoms if so, right?

I have no idea if I had it or not. Started with a sore throat, headache and a tight chest a week and a half ago. Then started coughing. Then just wiped out with fatigue interspersed with coughing fits/sore throat and really tight chest. No breathlessness apart from after a particularly bad coughing fit. Starting to feel better so up and about (and dressed!) still coughing a bit and chest tight but don’t feel as poorly as I did. Weirdly at no point have I had a temperature. So no idea if it was covid or not 🤷🏻‍♀️

maybemaybemaybe · 04/04/2020 16:56

@ButterflyBitch sounds like maybe covid - but impossible to tell I suppose, with a test. It could also be a regular bug. It's so frustrating we can't test. Was it all dry cough for you?

DH had a temperature last week. The 2 days prior to that he was very achey & tired plus had a headache. Day 3 temperature which only lasted for around 12 hours. Day 4 a bit achey / headachey - completely fine by day 6. Also lost his sense of smell & taste but that’s been back for a couple of days now.

Both dc spent one day each in bed saying they had headaches / sore throats / achey. Slight temperatures but only just at the magic 37.8 for very short periods. Dd has complained about a sore chest at times (but also been bouncing on the trampoline every day so...)

I’ve been fine.

No idea if it was corona or not - enough of the symptoms match to make it possible but certainly a very mild dose.

ButterflyBitch · 04/04/2020 17:08

Yes dry cough. I know, it’s bonkers as wouldn’t normally think it any different to a normal bug but obviously I was a bit worried especially with the tight chest as don’t normally get that with a cough especially one that wasn’t particularly bad. I’ve had worse coughs y’know

findingschools4myboys · 04/04/2020 17:14

Day 25 here. Symptoms started mild, then became quite bad which made me bed bound for over a week, the calmed down a bit to then get worse again. Feel better today though!

MoveOnTheCards · 04/04/2020 17:19

Right at the end of Jan I had all of the symptoms, started with sore throat, fever, loss of sense of taste (and smell), lethargy. That lasted for about 3-4 days, the throat was bad for about a week and then the dry cough went on for about a month or so. No idea if it was covid (due to the timings) but my symptoms ticked so many boxes I’d be surprised if it wasn’t (I had a flu jab in October so ruled out seasonal flu).

MajesticWhine · 04/04/2020 17:19

I had very mild symptoms - possible covid19 but could easily be not that, fever lasted 2-3 days (but a bit on and off not a raging fever). Chest tightness lasted a bit longer. I think I was better after about 10 days altogether.

MoveOnTheCards · 04/04/2020 17:20

And during the throat/fever peak at the beginning I took time off work and spent 2 days in bed unable to do much. That’s quite extreme for me.

hopefulhalf · 04/04/2020 17:31

My first day of fever was 18th March12 hours of fever, some chills. Had had some vague throat symptoms for maybe a day before. Days 3-5 Chest felt like a december run (sort of tight)and tickly throat. After about 5 days some more chest/back pains but went back to work on day 7. Still getting odd twinge. Haven't noticed change in smell or taste.

geojojo · 04/04/2020 17:33

I had similar symptoms but a sore throat as well. Mine lasted about two weeks but came and went during that time. Only one night I had a very sore throat and felt a bit breathless and almost like I had heartburn. Every morning I woke up feeling fine and thought I had imagined it and then throughout the day it got worse again. I still have a slight cough but other than that fine.

hopefulhalf · 04/04/2020 17:35

Oh a bit of mild nausea 1st couple of days

salemcat · 04/04/2020 17:36

Been just over 3 weeks & I still have a cough & feel super tired.

geojojo · 04/04/2020 17:37

My husband also had a cough, no fever and felt a bit breathless. He has asthma and had to use his inhaler more than usual. Our two children both had runny noses and bad coughs at night. No idea if it was that or a different virus. I guess we won't know for a while!
