Welcome @MinorArcana the more the merrier!
Well done on your weightless this week. I'm doing 16:8 and OMAD on alternate days and trying to low carb as well (nothing like hitting it with everything you've got!)
I've never tried low carb before, but I wish I had because the sugar cravings go away after a few days which is brilliant.
Good luck for next week!

Hi all!
I’ve just found this - are people still using it? Looking for some sort of motivation and support network :)
I’m 5’8, and started losing weight on April 20th and started at 21st!
I’ve managed to lose 30lbs and have taken up running (knocked 10 mins off my 5k time to get to 35mins plus I ran my first ever 10k)
How are you all?

Hi @asnugglysnerd - this thread is pretty quiet but I still check it regularly.

Today I am celebrating being back down to "double digits" - the scales show me at a few grams under 100kg for the first time in a long, long while (that's 15st 10lb) having started off at nearly 118 kg (18st 8lb)

Well done on your loss. I have been nervous about starting to run because I am worried I could bugger my knees by pounding them heavily, I am also worried about keeping reasonably comfortable with boobs and flabby tummy slapping about every which way if I move too energetically, so currently my exercise is limited to brisk walking (with leg weights to make it harder work). I feel I need to level up my exercise though so I continue to consider starting to run. Do you have any tips?

Another slightly more active thread is the 15 st + weightloss support thread that might be worth joining too?

Thank goodness — I thought I’d killed the thread!

Well done @YinuCeatleAyru That’s brilliant!!

I’m just hovering on the 17 st mark, so 3 stone loss, I’d love to be in your shoes.

I can’t run, never have been able to, but I’m walking 5 km a day, and I’ve got my first zoom Pilates lesson on Monday (may not be able to walk by Tuesday!)

I'm finding the being stuck in the house so much making it harder. I work in the kitchen at home and obviously I'm next to all the food. I'm ordering food online and probably buying more than I normally would as I don't want to run out. My weight loss has not only stalled but reversed in the last week and though I've been exercising I've been giving in in the evening and eating crap I don't even really want. Then I hate myself and do it again! But today is a new day... hope everyone has a good one

How's everyone doing? I'm 4 points down on the BMI since the start of lockdown today so in a good mood.

I've been really struggling recently though with being tempted by some of the treats my husband has. So this might seem weird and OTT but I bought a food safe for his treats. He knows the code and I don't.

I'm finding it so much easier since we got this as we now don't have anything in the house that I can access that I'm tempted by. I was finding my willpower was getting depleted before but now I don't have to rely on it at all home and only need it when I'm out doing the weekly shop - which is much easier as then I only have to use will power for a short period of time.

I'm not sure if this would help anyone else but for me and my sugar addiction it's a game changer. I'm slightly worried about whether I'll be able to keep up the weight loss when I'm eventually back in the office and have easy access to the canteen, but that might not be for another year or more as I think I'll be working from home for a long time so I'll think up some strategies at that point.

bmi down to 36.2 now, having been 43+ at start of lockdown.

my biggest stumbling block when "real life" resumes is going to be the buffet lunch. I go to a lot of conferences and training events and there's always masses of food and creamy carbby puddings and then barely 90 minutes later they bring out coffee and cakes, and then expect you to eat a 3 course sit down meal in the evening if it's a residential (in which case there is also the hotel breakfast to contend with). I used to manage to do justice to everything I was offered - part of my unhealthy mindset is that if something is already paid for I mustn't let it go to waste by not even attempting to eat it. I have just prepared and eaten a perfectly healthy 300 cal lunch which should be fine to get me through to supper, but I admit I am a little peckish. I will be fine though. i may have a carrot mid-afternoon if I am hungry then. if I was standing by a buffet table I am not sure I would have the strength to resist.

You are all doing so well!

I have had a tough couple of weeks, I somehow managed to damage my foot on a long walk so not been able to get out and exercise.

I have managed to maintain my weight loss , In total a loss of 30lbs and down from a bmi of 48.3 to 43.2.

I’m going to start some short walks tomorrow to see how I’m healing, hopefully can start losing again!

PanicOnTheStreets85 · 24/06/2020 21:14

Well done @Bakewell79. Sorry to hear about your foot but you're doing really well to maintain that impressive weight loss despite all that. 30lb off is such an achievement.

I’m 12lbs down after following weight watchers but my willpower is waning this week. I’m still on track but my dcs have been hard work, I’m out of weekly points and I miss a good comfort eat.

Newbeginningforme · 25/06/2020 21:35

Yes, well done @Bakewell79 30lb is awesome. I have actually lost 22lb.

Next target is a BMI of 35 and it would be awesome if I can get there by the end of September.

Bakewell79 · 25/06/2020 22:28

Thanks all, it’s been far from easy.... I have certainly had my moments!

A bmi of 35 would be a dream for me, I’m aiming for just under 40 so would need to drop another 18lbs... hoping to reach this by September time.

Everyone has done so well, it’s so lovely to have support through this Flowers

Well done @Nicedayforawedding, @YinuCeatleAyru and @Newbeginningforme 😃

I have to say that being nearly 1 stone 10lb down since March, I feel I can move around a lot easier and my resting heart rate has dropped a bit but I don't actually feel that much smaller. It's probably because my clothes were way too tight before and so now they just about fit! I have managed to get into a pair of pyjama trousers that I just simply could not squeeze into pre-lockdown so guess I must be getting smaller even if I cannot see it.

I've lost a couple more pounds and am now 3 stone lighter than my heaviest ever non-pregnant weight and also 3 stone heavier than my lowest ever adult weight. I don't know if I'll ever get down to my lowest weight again, but every pound off makes me feel a bit healthier and I am sure that I've my upped my odds of being OK if I do get the virus.

Wow seems like everyone is doing well. My BMI has reduced from 44.5 down to 38.4 over lockdown. I am due to return to work (in a care home) from the 1st Aug. I am hoping to reduce the figure a little more by then... I'm terrified about going back to work to be honest, though am aware how lucky I have been to be able to be off too.
