It is a head fuck.

A simple cold could be CV, it might not be. With no test we just dont know. The weeks of lost work from self isolating for a cough is massive.

I am a bereaved nurse married to ambulance worker. Twice been phoned pressurising us to clear my late stepfather's flat despite govn lockdown. Grudgingly given 2 week extension. How is this urgent? We could take Covid to vulnerable elderly #StayAtHome

FFS!!!

OneForMeToo · 01/04/2020 20:36

I was doing well avoiding everyone apart from key worker dh as me and the children haven’t left the house. Until the boiler broke now I’ve had the gas man in and out for days. Makes me edgy.

Kmxxx14 · 01/04/2020 20:36

Can anyone explain why in the Q&As it was Said that we are behind Italy’s progress despite us now having more deaths than Italy at the same point? I don’t understand the difference. Why can’t we compare death rates to see if we are doing better or worse than other countries.

Eeyoresstickhouse · 01/04/2020 20:39

I am sat here chuckling at the amount of people who were clambering for schools to be shut weeks ago, and are already moaning that they may not be open till September. I know I shouldn't laugh but we are not even 2 weeks in to this! This is why they shouldn't of been locked down any earlier in my opinion.

WhyNotMe40 · 01/04/2020 20:50

I am actually loving having my kids home! Grin

Eeyoresstickhouse · 01/04/2020 20:58

whynot I am struggling with trying to work from home with a toddler. But then I was also working right up till schools close day in my work in a university. I will be glad when we can all go back. My toddler is missing her childcare friends so much.

mrshoho · 01/04/2020 21:00

@Kmxxx14 The gov. figs seem to be tracking from the day each country reached 50 deaths thereabouts. Where as Crunchy's track from when each country reached 10. It's still looking bad in either case but if we track from 50 we are behind Italy at this stage.

TwentyViginti · 01/04/2020 21:08

Not true about McDonald's opening next week, no.

"Lots of people getting in touch about a certain post circulating tonight. It’s fake, we are not reopening next week and any official announcements would come from this page and would spell the brand name correctly…"

It's called fiddling with the figures till you find an arrangement that makes us look better off. There are lies, damned lies and statistics. Seems we are getting all three of late.

Helenj1977 · 01/04/2020 21:22

I took my girls out of school a week before they closed. I'll have them home forever if it means they don't catch it.

Boris looks ill in his video today.

georgedawes · 01/04/2020 21:29

I was wondering if Boris had been seen at all. Where is his video Helen?

Somelady · 01/04/2020 21:30

I did the same but by several weeks helenadove. I'm going to assume that it won't be safe to send mine to school in September and have started HE after being unable to contact the school. I think it's a really reduced workload anyway and I don't blame them.

Somelady · 01/04/2020 21:31

Oh I mean Helen j sorry

Helenj1977 · 01/04/2020 21:33

On his Instagram. BBC have just added it to the live feed.

Helenj1977 · 01/04/2020 21:35

@somelady My 11 year old has quite a lot of work. My 9 year old, not much at all.

I've got loads of work books etc ready for when they run out. I'm keen for them to keep their brains ticking over.

I worry about how this will effect them long term.

twitter.com/BorisJohnson/status/1245434438584074240?s=09

sorry if anyone is enjoying a break from Boris but this is his latest Twitter from today. If you listen he has the cheek to say "I've been saying for WEEKS AND WEEKS that testing is the way to beat this virus". Now has he really? And if he's been saying it for weeks and weeks why have we done such little testing and why we were told that community testing was not necessary??

Selmaselma · 01/04/2020 21:42

Does that mean testing will finally actually start on a reasonable level?

TwentyViginti · 01/04/2020 21:45

lemonjumper thank you! my friend's daughter believed it. Good that it's been officially denied.

Very concerned that this coming weekend looks to be warm and sunny (not a thing I'd ever thought I'd write) It'll bring people out in droves again.

georgedawes · 01/04/2020 21:54

Just watching it. He does look rough. I hope he's OK.

Bollocks about the testing though.

Somelady · 01/04/2020 21:57

I'm more worried about the social aspect although it is actually quite a responsibility to tutor a child. I'm just looking through ks3 materials and checking what needs worked on. It's good they have xbox etc though
