Hi all
When I joined this thread yesterday my purpose was to reassure you, because without testing I'm as confident as I can be that I've had this virus, (late Feb until early March).
Today, I hope to reassure you more as the country moves up the curve and as it looks that Boris will impose further restrictions regarding lockdown.
So, please, please remember: there are always contagious colds flus and virus. Healthy people usually recover from these. Covid 19 shares a lot of similar symptoms, so of course doctors who are advising over the phone, even face to face, without testing you has to assume that your symptoms may be related to Covid. No GP or 111 operator would say, "no, can't be Covid,". Remember too that the many thousands who have been tested because they have been ill enough to go to hospital with symptoms, have been tested negative.
So, even though you may feel worried and poorly, please remember it could be Covid, but it could be many of the other viruses.
The poster a few pages back who made the comment, that 90% of you won't have it' could well be right, but they don't know that, no one does. If however it is Covid that you have, and here's the important bit, the overwhelming evidence is you will get better. The huge majority of people do.
So please remember that your chances are very, very good. All the cases on the news are those that are tested in hospital, most older, with underlying health conditions. Crucially, most of those tested, a huge proportion test negative. They're still unwell, but it isn't Covid. If you are home, managing, then ride it out and call for help if it worsens. That is what you would do for flu, etc.
Take care all
