@longshot started a new thread as the other filled up and I thought you were poorly and people would be wanting to find out how you were doing.

OP posts:
KinderWild · 29/03/2020 11:41

Hi @longshot sorry you've been poorly for so long.

My situation is slightly complicated by the fact I had surgery in late Feb with a general and so I thought it he illness after was related to the anaesthetic. In the first couple of weeks k genuinely thought I was going to die the chest pain was so intense. Shivers and extreme confusion. no breathing issues. But extremely high blood pressure. I read an academic form kings' account of his illness and he had hbp too.

I am in London. I have been WFH since December and was pretty immobile due to an accident. But my husband commuted into central London daily.

TheDrsWife46 · 29/03/2020 11:43

@moonlite I’ve barely been anyway compared to my DH but its me thats ill. And my DD1. If you have kids have they been going to school/nursery before closure?

I visited my mum the week before I got ill so I do understand your anxiety at having passed it on. X

Moonlite · 29/03/2020 11:46

@thedrswife we pulled them out slightly earlier than the official closure. Although my youngest did have a temperature for 3 days around 10 days ago but nothing ever came of it and hes completely fine now. Such a worrying time

Spacecadetagain · 29/03/2020 11:46

Good morning everyone . I actually slept really well last night as I slept on my front but after being up five minutes I feel dreadful .terrible pain on my left side .. ribs really sore etc . Chest tightness is back today too . I feel very scared

longshot · 29/03/2020 11:53

@spacecadetagain poor you. What day is this for you now?

ScrimpshawTheSecond · 29/03/2020 11:59

Hi, all. Feeling crap again today. Shivers, breathless and shaky, stomach upset and sore lungs. No cough or fever.
As someone said above, a good chance it's some other bug but no real way of knowing.

Spacecadetagain · 29/03/2020 11:59

@longshot I think this is day 16 . I checked my temp and it’s normal . This virus just loves to play games !

littleblackdress04 · 29/03/2020 12:04

Hi there- hope everyone feeling ok today.

Has anyone had a lump in their throat that they can’t shift? I can’t cough it out- just feels weird - am on day 7/8 and feeling tired but a bit better again

Moonbaby321 · 29/03/2020 12:05

My DM has just said she has a headache and sinus pain. It could hopefully be just that but I am beyond worried now that she may have caught this. Sad

DH who didn't believe I had it has now admitted that his lungs hurt and burn and his sense of smell and taste have gone, he thinks he might have it too...

I feel better again today, still wiped out and not 100% but ok. I think I have been very lucky (touch wood) breathing still not great

Moonbaby321 · 29/03/2020 12:06

Has anyone on this thread actually had the test? I know one poster had and was waiting for the results

ScrimpshawTheSecond · 29/03/2020 12:09

Nope. I avoid doctors/hospitals at the best of times and would only go if I really felt it absolutely necessary.

EMichel102 · 29/03/2020 12:12

@ScrimpshawTheSecond I also have a strange upset queasy tummy / lower abdomen today for the first time (day 13). It could be that I’m on day 3 of antibiotics but it’s come on before I even took them today. So yucky! Do you get tummy issues frequently?

KinderWild · 29/03/2020 12:12

I've not been tested, and won't be as i don't meet any of their testing categories. I hope that it will be possible to get the antibody test when its available, to find out if i have had it.

Sorry to hear your DM may be unwell @Moonbaby321

Spacecadetagain · 29/03/2020 12:16

No I haven’t been tested either as it seems you are only tested if they admit you to hospital

ofwarren · 29/03/2020 12:21

When people say it could be some other bug, what other bug could it be?
I've had chest infections, influenza, mumps, measles and a whole raft of others but I've never had an illness make me feel like this.
It's like I've swallowed ground glass.
It just feels so different and distinctive.

Casino218 · 29/03/2020 12:22

I may qualify for the antibody test if I take up the offer to go in as a nurse in next few weeks. My GP said they are not automatically testing every patient that ends up in hospital anyway. I'm prepared to accept his view that we have had the corona virus here

OP posts:
TiddleTaddleTat · 29/03/2020 12:24

Has anybody else felt like they have gotten gradually better (days 7-13 for me) then fatigue has become much worse and return of some minor chest pains too?
It's almost like I've caught it again! I'm so tired I have to stay in bed again.

KeysDontBelongInTheFridge · 29/03/2020 12:30

Hey! I’m now day 20. Feeling a lot better, but still really tired. Does anyone who’s had it this long still have brain fog? That seems to be the main lingering thing for me

KeysDontBelongInTheFridge · 29/03/2020 12:30

Oh, and still have weird stabby pain under my right front rib

justasking111 · 29/03/2020 12:30

If you think it may have morphed into pleurisy pneumonia complications, your GP will prescribe antibiotics. My OH had flu last May which did this it helped within days.

KeysDontBelongInTheFridge · 29/03/2020 12:32

@TiddleTaddleTat between 7 and 13 days I was exhausted. I would basically wake up in the morning, and go back to sleep again until mid-day. It was horrible. But you’ll get through it - just rest a lot and know it’s only temporary and you will get better soon

Needsomegoodnews · 29/03/2020 12:32

@littleblackdress04 yes, right now. Feels like my upper airway is now restricted more than my chest (day 13).

Fever wasn’t as bad last night but racing heart and tight throat, which is freaking me out. I’m hoping it feels worse than it is as I can still breathe..

ScrimpshawTheSecond · 29/03/2020 12:32

EMichel usually stomach is fine. Other than when I have a bug.

ScrimpshawTheSecond · 29/03/2020 12:36

From NHS pages:

Check if you have flu

Flu symptoms come on very quickly and can include:

a sudden fever – a temperature of 38C or above
an aching body
feeling tired or exhausted
a dry cough
a sore throat
a headache
difficulty sleeping
loss of appetite
diarrhoea or tummy pain
feeling sick and being sick

So a lot of these symptoms could easily be another bug. I'm self isolating anyway, but bearing in mind it could be something else.

Cary2012 · 29/03/2020 12:38

Hi all
When I joined this thread yesterday my purpose was to reassure you, because without testing I'm as confident as I can be that I've had this virus, (late Feb until early March).
Today, I hope to reassure you more as the country moves up the curve and as it looks that Boris will impose further restrictions regarding lockdown.

So, please, please remember: there are always contagious colds flus and virus. Healthy people usually recover from these. Covid 19 shares a lot of similar symptoms, so of course doctors who are advising over the phone, even face to face, without testing you has to assume that your symptoms may be related to Covid. No GP or 111 operator would say, "no, can't be Covid,". Remember too that the many thousands who have been tested because they have been ill enough to go to hospital with symptoms, have been tested negative.

So, even though you may feel worried and poorly, please remember it could be Covid, but it could be many of the other viruses.

The poster a few pages back who made the comment, that 90% of you won't have it' could well be right, but they don't know that, no one does. If however it is Covid that you have, and here's the important bit, the overwhelming evidence is you will get better. The huge majority of people do.

So please remember that your chances are very, very good. All the cases on the news are those that are tested in hospital, most older, with underlying health conditions. Crucially, most of those tested, a huge proportion test negative. They're still unwell, but it isn't Covid. If you are home, managing, then ride it out and call for help if it worsens. That is what you would do for flu, etc.

Take care all Flowers
