Be totally honest - have you been able to stick to 2 meter rule in supermarket?

I haven't though I really tried and succeeded for most of it I think. I don't want to be within half a bastard mile of anyone. It was 6.15am. I wore gloves, masked my face, literally ran away from people and shielded myself with my trolley when possible but after measuring 2 meters it's actually quite far :-( even at the till I don't think it's 2 meters from the cashier or if we walk past each other in the aisle. Then there were guards stood outside on either side of the fucking door I must have looked a right twat running past them. I've washed my hands, wiped down the shopping and had a shower. I'm so fucking paranoid.

Wrong thread!

Easily. I had to queue for 40 minutes to pay yesterday in Asda but everyone was being respectful and sensible

It's airborne though, so...
Fur accuracy, there is no evidence that it is airborne. If it was you'd be seeing many more deaths.

Why do you think we are told to keep a distance of 2 metres apart? It is purely because we catch it through ingesting droplets through our eyes, nose, mouth or ears that someone coughs or sneezes out (or by touching surfaces onto which these droplets have fallen and then transferring them to the aforementioned orifices). It has been tested to see how far these droplets travel before they fall. Hence the 2 metre limit.

If the virus was airborne it would've blown in the wind etc and none of us would stand chance of not catching it.

Queued up outside Tesco yesterday We were all standing 2m apart. Had to tell 2 blokes off for pushing in. Every time ive had someone come to close its been a man.

Vicliz24 · 27/03/2020 18:51

My local Morrisons was hell today . Easy queuing system to get in but once inside it was a nightmare. Despite regular tannoy announcements hardly anyone was observing distances . Older people and the actual staff themselves were the worst . Staff absolutely oblivious to the six feet rule . It was crazy and filled me with such anxiety

I went to Sainsbury's and came out totally stressed... I was pushing my trolley with my (short) arms stretched out trying to block people. Should have been spinning the whole time as people still kept creeping up to me from behind/sideways...
Store workers also chatting to each other far too close.
I'm not freaked out for myself but I could kill my husband bringing Covid back home. I'm now looking for a shoo that limits the number of people entering and Sainsbury's can do a favour...

LazyFace · 27/03/2020 18:53

Oh, I also kept snapping at people about '2 metres and certain swear words'.

HoldMyLobster · 27/03/2020 18:59

Yes - other than when it came to self-checkout.

They're about 1.5 metres apart and although I went at a really quiet time, and chose the one furthest from everyone else, then member of staff waved someone over to use the one next to me.

DiscoDown · 27/03/2020 18:59

I really tried, but there were two men who didn't give a shit, pushing the trolley right down the middle of the aisle, reaching across people, walking far apart so you couldn't avoid them. Everyone flattened themselves across opposite sides or stayed back except them.

We need to bring back crinoline dresses as fashion.

Perfect for hiding the extra 2 stone few pounds on the arse gained from no work, no exercise and a diet of things in packets for 3 months, plus they ensure effective social distancing.

Had a pharmacist close to touching distance, he then coughed in his hand, that had my change in it. Not happy.
