I'm self isolating. Today everyone of my neighbours has been out, one house has had three members go out in cars at different times coming back with shopping. Just to top it off the ice cream van is doing the rounds cue a load of kids queuing up.

It's pathetic, we are not even one day in yet! FFS, this is going last a lot longer then three weeks.

defthand · 24/03/2020 15:28

Ice cream van?! 😱

middleager · 24/03/2020 15:31

The ice cream van man up our road too.
Can't think of anything more germ laden...

niffynoonoo · 24/03/2020 15:33

not just our area then!

we`ll end up with the army brought in to patrol at this rate......

planningaheadtoday · 24/03/2020 15:35

@Horehound my exH is stuck in Thailand at the moment.
He wasn't planning on returning until April but he can't get flights at all. Everything is cancelled, globally it would seem at the moment.
He been trying for weeks to get home.

What can i do to help him?

CharlieTangoBanana · 24/03/2020 15:36

@Notonthestairs yes guilty of the sideswipe at a pp I'm just sick of seeing people making light of coronavirus so including it in a username seems in bad taste.

I apologise, feeling fragile today

Horehound · 24/03/2020 15:42

@planningaheadtoday there will be so many people in Thailand in the same boat.
Tell him to register with the embassy for starters.
Follow @fcotravel on twitter. And also follow Dominic raab. Make sure he is up to date with the government travel.
Write to your mp and also to Dominic raab

David Carretta - 'Coronavirus: the Italian government foresees restrictions until the 31st of July, according to a draft of a new Decree.' Plus fines are going up to €4000 for breaking restrictions. Maybe that would make people stop and think. Ice cream vans?!

planningaheadtoday · 24/03/2020 15:44

@Horehound thank you, I'll pass that on now.

SansaSnark · 24/03/2020 15:48

Ice cream vans definitely shouldn't be out. If you see one, I'd actually report via 101 or something like that.

Some people need to be told!

blibblibs · 24/03/2020 15:48

I'm expected to be at work at the moment. I'm currently an apprentice with the NHS and my colleagues are at work sitting in a room studying!
If a hospital can't listen to the government then we've got no hope Sad

Steven Swinford - 'Boris Johnson in turn has told the Mayor of London to put on more trains at peak times to ensure we don't get a repeat of packed tubes we saw this morning

Sadiq Khan says 20% of TfL staff are sick or self-isolating so he can't increase capacity.'

Angryrant55 · 24/03/2020 15:50

Steven Swinford - 'Here's the Sadiq Khan quote:

'Members of the government want us to do is carry on ‘busy as usual’ as much as we can in relation to the economy

'What I think has not landed is fact we face not just a social and economic crisis, but a public health crisis' '

How does that compare to Italy?

TokyoSushi · 24/03/2020 15:57

Late check in!

BentBastard · 24/03/2020 15:58

Quartz. I think 200 fewer than Italy at comparable date

Angryrant55 · 24/03/2020 16:00

Lewis Goodall - 'NEW: UK death toll from #COVID19 increases by 87 to 422.'

First death in Liverpool as well.

CrapTVAddict · 24/03/2020 16:00

Omg food shops shutting for 3 weeks Shock in India?
There must be a way of shutting shops but having food delivered by the army or drivers just dumping outside each house? No one has to go out then

MarshaBradyo · 24/03/2020 16:00

Oh gosh poor India
