For me it will be a bike ride - keeps you at a safe distance from others.

Will not be doing any particularly dangerous form of cycling - no mountain biking or anything crazy before people start!

Obviously if the area gets busier we won't stay there.

I literally cannot believe what i am reading.

A walk around our local roads with the baby in the sling and the 3 year old holding my hand, I don't trust the 3 year old to scoot/bike ride 2m away from people.

We are doing the joe wicks workout from home, I'm a single mum to four kids and whilst we managed a walk at the weekend with the dog and on the whole avoided people the pictures I saw at the weekend of everyone flocking to the local park have worried me as it's so busy you couldn't avoid people. Luckily we have a big garden! I don't really want to walk the streets with four kids and the dog.

Horse riding isn't allowed the BHS has said no riding just go and feed horse

mistermagpie · 24/03/2020 07:19

I run anyway 3-4 times a week, so I'll be doing that. Beyond that I don't massively feel a need to get out but my kids will so DH might take them for a walk.

It's true that you'll see loads of people walking who have never been for a walk in their lives. When I went for a run on Sunday they were hoards of people running. I normally only see one or two others, and I've been running these paths for years, but that day there were loads. I ended up running in the middle of the road a lot to keep away from them because nobody else seemed bothered about staying apart.

Salene · 24/03/2020 07:31

I'm a runner but I normal go hunting for trails I will just do a quick run from my house

We live in rural Scotland in a village with no off road walking near it I thought I could drive the kids to one of the remote walking areas near by but after sitting and thinking about it I think driving a car is a big No unless it's good or work

Though if I break down or have a accident it's adding to problems - so not driving my car

Will just need to walk along country roads , but also have a bouncy castle so will stick that up in garden for kids some days so they dont need to leave house everyday

RadioRodeo · 24/03/2020 07:38

I'm a runner so I'll be running every other day. The non-run days I'll go for a walk with my husband. We're both very active normally.

UnaOfStormhold · 24/03/2020 07:40

We're lucky enough to have a garden so planning to use that and leave going out for people who don't have outside space at home.

TheMemoryLingers · 24/03/2020 07:41

Another who will be using it to walk the dog, same as my husband, so the dog can have two walks a day.

Ragwort · 24/03/2020 07:41

I will be going for a walk, about an hour which is my ‘normal’ .. I think I would prefer to go alone to give my DH & I a break from each other Grin. Fortunately we live quite rurally so decent walks around. Will also try home video exercises.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 24/03/2020 07:43

DS and I live opposite a huge open field so we will be going across to there if it's empty. Take a football or his scooter.

ritzbiscuits · 24/03/2020 07:46

I'll be doing Joe Wicks PE, Les Mills on Demand,Yoga with Adriene all inside.

Plus taking son out on his bike as required (around the block) but unlikely to be everyday. Son can play out in the garden too.

sofato5miles · 24/03/2020 07:52

I am glad to read that runners seem to special cases, i thought that was received for cyclists

sofato5miles · 24/03/2020 07:53

Reserved ^ 🙄🤣

unchienandalusia · 24/03/2020 08:00

Walking the dog in the morning in deserted field opposite my house. DH will do afternoon. Kids will be cycling round the garden, roller skating, trampoline plus 30 mins Joe Wicks and 30 mins challenges the school PE dept sent us.

Well that's the plan. Still in bed!!

CrunchyCarrot · 24/03/2020 08:02

A short walk with DP on the common land at the back of our property. Always very quiet there.

FritataPatate · 24/03/2020 08:04

@One More Wish : best way is to move in with your parents for the next 3 or 4 weeks.

LubyLoo · 24/03/2020 08:08

Three walks a day with my dog.

Canyoutellilikrchocolate · 24/03/2020 08:08

I don’t think driving somewhere to walk/exercise is ok.

  1. Car journey increases risk of accidents putting more strain on NHS
  1. I live in a quiet spot and a country footpath starts by my house. It’s been like a car park the last few days and the footpath has been rammed with walkers. If everyone drives to these places to exercise it defeats the object of keeping our distance....
Casino218 · 24/03/2020 08:11

Our house backs on to a wood which is usually deserted. We will be in that with the dog. Once a day for the three of us and three times for the dog. We have been in isolation due to virus symptoms so come off that Thursday. We will need to go to supermarket. That's it I guess.

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 24/03/2020 08:12

A dawn walk to get my head together. I live in London so I still see people as I walk about but we all walk 6ft around each other. I've been doing this all week. I will also take the kids for a fresh air walk (at a 2m distance from everyone) in the afternoon. I think this will just about keep us all sane.
