How will you be interpreting ‘one form of exercise a day?’

For me it will be a bike ride - keeps you at a safe distance from others.

Will not be doing any particularly dangerous form of cycling - no mountain biking or anything crazy before people start!

(Obviously I know nothing about horse riding, thank you for putting me straight🙈)

Has anyone been outside for their daily form of exercise yet? I'm a runner and I usually go out 4x a week but I'm suddenly feeling really nervous about going outside in case I get shouted at/judged.

Spidey66 · 24/03/2020 12:17

Me and my husband will each be using our daily exercise to take the dog out.

“purely for her to relieve herself. She will only wee and poo on grass or soft surfaces- not pavement.”

She’ll pop and wee where she has to if she doesn’t have a choice.

Duchessofblandings · 24/03/2020 12:22

Poo 😁
(Or pop, I suppose, if she refuses)

DH and DS2 are currently doing "PE" in the garden. School has sent a list of exercises along the lines of 20 press ups, 1 minute fast running on the spot, 20 tricep presses, 40 step ups etc

Its quite amusing watching them out of the window. I think DH is quite enjoying his PE lesson

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 24/03/2020 12:24

A walk with the dog, if I can persuade the kids to come. If I go alone, a run with the dog, probably at night when it's quieter.

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 24/03/2020 12:25

I've been sending the kids out into the garden for "playtime" as my youngest is calling it. Shared garden unfortunately, but the night NEVER uses it so it's a decent size for them.

Bluntness100 · 24/03/2020 12:26

We have a home gym so will use that, it’s nothing flash before anyone comments and just in an out building,

The reason for once a day is because if everyone does it more often then the streets and parks will be crowded, once a day means say fifty odd million people coming out their homes once a day. Twice a day means a hundred million and so on. It makes it so much busier.

umberellaonesie · 24/03/2020 13:36

4/5 mile walk at the forest or beach

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 24/03/2020 15:39

I've been told today they are going to close beaches? How they will do this I don't know.

Saz12 · 24/03/2020 16:04

Some people will do as much as they can get away with, and in so doing will needlessly endanger as many as possible.

There’s no point in discussing what you are and aren’t “allowed” to do. Bottom line: try and be part of the solution, rather than the problem.

I only work nightshifts which are staggered at the moment. It is important to get out in the light even if it is for a half hour run. I walk to work on the Capital Ring and return the same way. I sleep during the day, you know, because I work at night.

BeijingBikini · 24/03/2020 16:49

A walk or jog - I live in a leafy small town so can be out into empty fields in about 10/15 mins. Lovely!

Myself and husband will drive for 5 minutes to take our dog to a local wide open area and walk him until we've done enough steps to get into the active category on Pacer.
