These weren’t included in Boris’s list but are things affecting me currently:

Car due for mot Friday (need to wait til then for pay day). Need it to get to my essential job.

Hermes/other courier deliveries - I’ve sent loads of stuff this weekend that I sold on EBay. Non essential. Old baby toys. They’re waiting to be delivered to my buyers. Will they still be delivered or should I start refunding?

We have to limit the time we spend outside. Take your recycling the communal bins when on your way for a walk.

Hanging washing in a communal garden is fine. Just stay away from other people

Skittlesss · 24/03/2020 08:33

“I need exercise... it’s good for my waistline... I need to stay slim... I’m scared I’ll get fat from being inside all the time”.

Newsflash, thicko, YOU CAN LOSE WEIGHT / BUILD UP FITNESS / GET BACK TO A ROUTINE when this is all over.

You can not reanimate a corpse when you’re dead, your nan is dead and Bill down the road is dead because you wanted to don lycra 6 times a day and Fauxercise so you can be outside.

BreathlessCommotion · 24/03/2020 08:36

@ACertainSupermarket I have Bipolar disorder, exercise is written into my wellness plan as very effective. In the past when I have become injured (broken bones) or house bound after surgery it has triggered a serious mental health crisis.

As I said indoor exercise is not possible due to ASD child, dog and rest of family. Part of what works is the ability to switch off, process thoughts, it's almost like meditation for me.

If I can't do it, I won't. I believe strongly in this lockdown and have been following all the rules up to now. But don't dismiss me as silly. Mental health services are stretched as it is, if I go into crisis it's unlikely there will be anything there to support me this time.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 24/03/2020 08:39

I need to get gel nail extensions taken off next week at the latest, they actually could damage my nails if half grown out - won't get new ones of course just removal. Men wouldn't consider this

I must be beyond tired . . . I'm really wondering if the poster is serious . . .

Skittlesss · 24/03/2020 08:40

Breathless, you’re allowed out once a day for exercise, so plan it as best you can. When will it have the best impact on you etc :)

BreathlessCommotion · 24/03/2020 08:45

Thanks. The argument/started because we have a dog. And so she need walking as well as me needing exercise. Walking her is not relaxing (she's only 8 months old!).

Anyway I'll step away now. Apparently people in severe mental health crisis and suicide don't count, only people who die from covid 19.

RichardMarxisinnocent · 24/03/2020 08:56

I appreciate we have to minimise time spent outdoors. I am not sure I will be going out for a walk every day - I went for a walk round the block yesterday and found it quite stressful as I seemed to be the only person who was social distancing. I kept moving into driveways, or into the space between parked cars or crossing the road to keep 2m away from people, while nobody else was doing that or even looking like they were about to do that, they just kept walking straight at me.

I don't mind keeping my recycling inside till I go for a walk (I assume I can take it out, go back inside to take in the plastic box it is stored in, then head out for a walk) but general rubbish in the kitchen bin with things in which will rot and smell could be a bit more troublesome (though obviously not impossible). I only take a bag out less than once a week though so maybe I will just ensure I go for a walk straight after that so it's only one trip outside that day.

Not sure how i stay away from other people in the stairwell - I guess if I see someone coming up or down the stairs while I am there I either go back up to my flat or back outside the building until they are gone.

MustBeThin · 24/03/2020 08:59

Well rang the vets and 2 of my dogs can't have vaccinations! So I will have to take them out unvaccinated for their 1 walk a day or not at all for months. She said "they should be OK for 2 or 3 months" not very reassuring though is it? They could get ill, I then asked about whether they'd then need to start a new full course (presumably they will) but she couldn't answer that either. Hmm looks like there are going to be a lot of unvaccinated dogs, there'll be a new pandemic then for the animals. Wonder what you do with any puppies that have just been born or bought? Confused

willowpatterns · 24/03/2020 09:18

To those of you who are saying no to people going out to tend their allotments...

You do realise that people grow food on their allotment, don't you? And while they are out there digging up some potatoes to eat, they aren't having to go to the supermarket to buy them.

BorsetshireBlueBalls · 24/03/2020 09:20

UniKittie - Gove used his appearance on the Today programme afterwards to correct his error> Moving children from house to house to maintain normal cotact arrangements is permitted.

Xenia · 24/03/2020 09:21

Allotments will be fine and people grow their food there. In a sense we may need to get back to Dig for Victory so I would not be shutting off people going to them. However don't chat at them. My mother had one for years and didn't go to chat, probably went to get away from us all as it was peaceful but sometimes an old man would come over and want a very long chat (she used to hide in her hut).

TooTrusting · 24/03/2020 09:52

@RainMinusBow
Yes that will be the next thing. I don't think you can do anything other than say he is lying. Self isolation in such circumstances would be 14 days. I suspect a judge may err on the side of caution unless you can demonstrate his ulterior motive and/or history of lying.
I'm currently dealing with a F like this (professionally, not my XH who is very sensible) and I'm having to think of every move he may make next. I've already anticipated he will do what you've described.

alloutoffucks · 24/03/2020 09:55

@MustBeThin I have read that vets have been told by their professional body they should be providing emergency treatment only. So not preventative medicine which vaccinations are, only treating ill animals.
Would it be better just to keep your dog on the lead?

Eckhart · 24/03/2020 09:59

@MustBeThin Having boosters yearly is a very conservative estimate of how long the previous booster lasts. It's conservative and helpful to the vet's wallet. The dogs' inner workings don't have a calendar that switches off the immunity on day 366 after a booster. Even with no vaccinations at all it'd be unlikely they'd catch anything within a few weeks. They'll be ok, don't worry.

AnotherMurkyDay · 24/03/2020 10:01

@RichardMarxisinnocent

There was an AMA from somebody in Spain on lockdown who said they are allowed to take their bins out and hang washing on the communal roof terraces and walk dogs etc. Round communal courtyards. Unless you are self isolating, collecting post and taking out rubbish and recycling still need to happen. Just don't have a chat to the neighbours and don't make multiple trips. Try and get it all done in one go. A quick dash to throw some bags and grab some mail shouldn't count as an outing, as if you lived in a house then it wouldn't be leaving your property at all.

MustBeThin · 24/03/2020 10:07

allout vet called me back and said they want to avoid re doing full sets of vaccinations if possible so have booked both dogs in for the end of May, if nothing changes then it will obviously have to be pushed back.
It won't make much difference keeping dogs on lead I don't believe, I think parvo can be caught by walking anywhere a dog has been walking/weeing that has parvo it stays on the ground, they don't need to be in direct contact with another dog. I think its also possible for you to traipse the virus into your own house on your shoes too? 🤔 I'm sure you have to be super careful if you've had a litter of puppies about removing/disinfecting shoes if you've been outside.

alloutoffucks · 24/03/2020 10:08

@RichardMarxisinnocent Yes it is almost impossible to go for a walk here and maintain social distance. We have all been inside. Which is why I can understand people driving a bit to go for a walk.

MustBeThin · 24/03/2020 10:10

Thanks Eckhart Smile wonder what they are going to do about vaccinations for puppies though. 🤔

Xenia · 24/03/2020 10:12

Gove has corrected his serious TV error of this morning (when he wrongly said child contact stopped).

Xenia · 24/03/2020 10:13

So Boris' children will get to see daddy after all.

RichardMarxisinnocent · 24/03/2020 10:24

@AnotherMurkyDay thank you. My post is delivered through my door so no issues with that, and I can dry washing indoors if needed (which is what I do during winter). My neighbours have young children who were in the garden for a while yesterday and I think I can hear them again today, so may need to keep drying washing inside.
It is just the rubbish and recycling I need to go outside for. I really really want to avoid non-essential contact with people and spreading the virus - I work for the NHS in a non-clinical role and I know the sort of measures being put into place to try to help my Trust cope.

Piggywaspushed · 24/03/2020 10:45

I feel very worried for bin collectors. They are open to all sorts of infections anyway but these times must be awful for them and , yet, yesterday, on my estate people were whinging about garden waste collections being postponed to help them do their jobs on fewer staff.

Eireni · 24/03/2020 10:54

My practice is doing kitten/puppy vaccs. We are postponing routine adult healthchecks & boosters for healthy animals for 3 months, this is within guidelines to not require a restart course.

Ginkypig · 24/03/2020 15:05

So for anyone interested I have spoken to the vet today.

she has said that Iv to not come in to get the bloods done, she said she would actually want her in but we both want to follow the rules properly so instead Iv to check her weight every couple of days because if she carries on losing weight (has lost 1/2kg in 5 weeks) that shows the new dose isn't working and they will see her immediately as that would be a true emergency but that that the cat has also been put on their special list to get her seen as soon as possible once the rules allow.

Kateg1982 · 24/03/2020 15:20

Private park belonging to my group of flats in London. People sat around very close together in groups of 2 or 3 having picnics etc. No exercise involved at all. Surely that's not allowed?
